Chapter 81: XIV Bloodline
Chapter 81: XIV Bloodline
"Wait! I wanted to ask you something, did you grow up without knowing your father or mother for some reason?" Shadow could not help but ask hastily a spark of hope that he might discover what happened to his clan after it was sealed or at least some hint about it.
"None of these alternatives, I was found by a priestess as a baby and the only thing I had on my mind was two words, Cassie and Yalin. After that I grew up in my hometown's temple until one day when i was walking around the city with a few friends, I tripped on a stone and fell with my face on the ground. Then grey-purple blood flowed from my nose and it was when I discovered I was not human, but I shed this grey-purple blood a few times. This made the people in my town to believe I was not human, some thought my blood seemed like the one Fairies used to have in the old stories I heard in the temple, but the nation I came from is one that believes in human supremacy and that every other mortal race is inferior to them. The priestess who raised me knew I would face danger if I stayed there so she sent me to Valhalla so I could be safe.... But now you said that lineage of your clan flows in my veins, could you know of my parents and origin? "As she spoke, the expectation kept growing in Cassie's voice, imagining that she could finally discover from where she came from.
Standing before the passage, no matter how much Elijah was curious about Cassie's relation with Shadow, it was like some part of him already knew. He decided to sit down and meditate as he had absorbed too much energy and he needed to circulate and refine this new energy that entered his body while his elemental energy would purified and transformed into primeval energy. Of course primeval energy was also helping his blood bill and spiritual seal become even more condensed and real. If Elijah continued using this special energy it would not take much before he could begin forming the three foundations and breakthrough to the Supreme Foundation Realm.
Shadow looked at Cassie with gentle eyes, "I'm not sure about your parents as my clan's lineage in you is very thin and I was sealed for a long time. Maybe your bloodline is being blocked by something. After we leave here, i can take you to see my true body. I could try to stimulate your bloodline with mine and don't worry, I will help you find your parents as you could even be my niece."
At this time, the thoughts of the four fairies were in a completely different direction as they knew about Cassie reacting to Elijah's blood before and were talking to each other about why she not only has a connection to the Shadow clan as her lineage is also connected with Elijah.
Elijah finished his meditation and stood up: "We have already stopped for a while, so how about we continue now?"
Some moments after passing through the passage, Elijah realized that this tomb would be more troublesome that what he expected as the moment his feet touched the floor he noticed that Magic couldn't be used no matter what he tried.
It was because this tomb was part of being who was considered the peak of power when he was alive. Even for Shadow who was a celestial with mastery over three different laws and was called a prodigy by her clan members back then. Her Avatar was capable of using 1% of her power, but even so she could not even use the power of her domain and the range of spells she could use on her avatar's body was reduced to its limits. However, even without using he domain over laws and with her power being suppressed by the tomb, she was more than capable of killing most of her enemies with just one hit.
As for Elijah, leaving aside his techniques like Void Steps, and his hammer's life flame. The only spells he could use were the low-ranked spell [Lightning Hands] and [Detect Life] as even the cheated ability 'Void Space' was useless inside there.
After several hours and dozens of traps, they stopped as they saw a huge metal door blocks your path. Dried blood was splattered are all over the room, somehow untouched by time and the elements.
Elijah did not even stepped closer to inspect it and just trowed his hammer and smashed the door as he was traumatized by the traps he encountered on the way.
"Wait! I feeling that we're being watched." Cassie pulled his sleeves and pointed at the direction she said to have seen a silhouette passing by.
Elijah decided to look at the direction she pointed and saw figures clad in black surrounding them.
Looking at the one on the front who appear to be the leader, Elijah shouted. "Tell me your whole plan!"
The figures continued to approach without hearing him. Seeing this, Elijah though. "I'm sure this will work someday."
Raising his hammer and putting his mask, he was standing in front of the fairies as they could not fight with magic on a place it was useless.
"Cassie, Take this!" At the same, he threw an war-axe he had pulled from his phone's pocket dimension towards Cassie who immediately infused a portion of energy into the weapon, making it shine.
"Kill!!" Elijah's hammer shinned with blue lightning as he strike sideways with his hammer and jumped on the enemy leader.
Elijah did not hit his attack but he managed to reveal the face of the Enemy Leader. Five different screams could he heard when they saw the Enemy Leader's face. He had six eyes, wide mouth and huge noses that made he look a bit funny.
"Brothers! Let's show these mortals the power of true unity." The other figures walked to him as their flesh melted and merged into a tall, winged being.
"I'm Dulnog, son of Dulbat and I will be the one to proclaim the return of the one and only true king of the cosmos."
Only with the Dulnog's presence was more that enough to keep Cassie and the fairies on the floor.
Elijah looked at Shadow: "Master can you beat him?" Shadow pondered something and said in a vague tone.
"It is possible, but I will need to use a stronger than the one I'm using..." Elijah didn't noticed there was a hint of embarrassment from her voice and interrupted.
"If it is this simple, can't you use my body?"
"Ehh! I could but... Okay then, but don't regret it." Before Elijah could react, Shadow pulled him and kissed his lips interlining her tongue with his as black smoke flowed from her mouth to his.
Elijah felt almost nothing from this kiss because when he realized what was happening, Shadow's avatar had already dispersed.
Then his eyes turned completely silver as giant grayish-black wings stretch out from his back.
