Chapter 90 Yorik Kingdom, Tricky Path
Chapter 90 Yorik Kingdom, Tricky Path
Rin and Nessa arrived at the west periphery of the Numela Forest after Nessa told Rin about her story as she regained her memories after encountering the Abyss Servant.
"It is there behind the mountains," Nessa said as she pointed at a faraway mountain range with its peaks covered by thick clouds.
"We were returning from the Velfion Kingdom, so we entered from there," Nessa added with dread in her eyes. "There were over fifty Abyss Servants, a big bloody pool, and a few other strange things there."
"I see," Rin nodded with narrowed eyes. 'I want to hunt Abyss Servants, but that place is too dangerous… I need more power and levels first.'
"Rin, let's go to Velfion Kingdom and inform them about this," Nessa said with a somber expression. "Now that I remember the location, we will tell them and lead them here to clear Abyss corruption."
[ You have received a new task. ]
—> Go to the Velfion Kingdom with Nessa and decide your next move from there. / +1 level, Item recall box, 1x Labyrinth Shop Ticket.
'Shop ticket? Is it used to spend the Labyrinth Points?' Rin wondered. She had 10,390 Labyrinth Points after getting all of her items destroyed with the floor openings, but she didn't know where to spend them.
"Alright, let's go to the Velfion Kingdom."
…
'Wow, this is great,' Erix thought as he looked at the stretching ground filled with generous tall buildings, beautiful and colorful structures of stones, crystals, and woods, and lots of people!
Yorik Kingdom's capital, Yorik City!
Erix even produced a passing thought of living here for a second, but he gained a better thought the next second.
'With structure-type dungeons and learning magic technology here, we can build even better on Earth,' Erix thought. 'The guild area will increase more and more as we level up guilds, so something like a guild town is also possible eventually.'
"We have to descend at the gates, Erix. Let's go down."
Erix nodded and followed them. The tall towers placed throughout the town ensured that no one entered the city without detection.
After entering the town with the somewhat famous trio that all guards and many people knew, Erix looked at wonders of magic incorporated into the daily life of people everywhere in the town.
"Wait for that…what's that?" Erix suddenly paused and pointed at a big building with a giant cauldron magical projection and some unreadable words.
"That's the Alchemy guild," Darius said with a weird expression as he looked at Erix. "You sound like you've seen it the first time."
"Yeah, it's my first time seeing it," Erix smiled. "The place where I lived before didn't have anything like that."
"Strange, but okay. We can't bring you to the royal palace, so roam around until we get back at you," Dylan said before taking out a strange black card with white and silver patterns.
"This is a comm card. Keep it with you, and I'll contact you through it once we are done."
Erix took the strange card and inspected it while those three left.
[Communication Card]
_Range: 100-kilometer.
_Contacts: 3.
_Use: infuse 1 mana point and select a contact from the list to initiate communication.
'So it's a magical walky-talky? Cool.'
Afterward, Erix started roaming in the magical capital of the Yorik kingdom.
'If there's an Alchemy guild, then there should be guilds for other professions too,' Erix thought as he walked on a random main road in a luxurious area.
'I wonder if they teach them…'
After a while, Erix arrived before a huge building of ten stories in the shape of a classic mountain and mountains theme.
'Damn!' Erix cursed under his breath upon looking at the incredible structure.
' Magsmith guild, here I come!'
…
"To join the first basic Magsmith learning class, you must pay 10,000 gold coins, sir. Moreover, you'll only awaken your Griomoire if you have an affinity with this work or develop it in the basic class."
"If you can't develop your affinity and awaken your Griomoire even after completing the basic Magsmith class, then consider that Magsmithing is not in your destiny."
"I see. Thank you for the information."
Erix left the floor one entry hall and went straight towards the Adventurer's Guild in the city.
'I haven't even completed my first task of getting a house, but that trio might give me a temporary roof, which should complete the first task.'
'But before that, let's earn some gold coins.'
Erix picked up a few missions of slaying various monsters for their body parts and went out to hunt them in Water-Leaf Fields.
Water-Leaf Fields was a large area of 80% water and 20% land. The place had unique blue-green trees growing high from thousands of water bodies below. Erix entered the field and saw arrays of ponds and lakes with huge trees coming out of them and all water bodies connected to each other in some way. Many people were hunting monsters in the entry periphery, but Erix's targets were deeper, so he continued flying ahead.
'Blue-Eyed frogs should be here according to the map,' Erix thought as he triggered his Aura Gear and started searching.
But suddenly, he got a new task, a unique type. —> Choose your task.
-Option 1: Help a tribe of Merfolks northwest of Water-Leaf fields to kill Marquis Hamrax's men and save them/ Reward: +1 level, 1x Labyrinth Shop ticket, +500 Labyrinth Points, Favor of Merfolks.
-Option 2: Help Marquis Hamrax's men kill Merfolks to harvest the valuable pearl eyes of the PearlEye Merfolk Tribe. / Reward: +1 level, 1x Labyrinth shopt ticket, 1000 Labyrinth points.
'Marquis Hamrax?'
Erix paused to think, but a Blue-Eyed frog suddenly popped out of the pond below and opened his mouth before releasing a dark blue water orb swirling with powerful magic.
'Can't do without these gauntlets.'
Erix grinned as he smashed his fists together, equipped with none other than Radiant Crush Gauntlets! He was already aware of a few lifeforms in the pond with his Aura Gear and casually punched the incoming orb attack.
*Shatter!*
The attack was shattered into motes and dispersed.
The item recall box in the reward contained a list of his destroyed items! He could pick one of them, so he picked Radiant Crush Gauntlets.
After all, this pair of gauntlets was the most powerful item of Erix because he had spent most of his Upgrade Stones in these gauntlets.
On the other hand, the frog was about to release another attack, but Erix used Nether Call as a black faceless humanoid with dark purple wisps plastered on its body conjured behind the frog and grabbed it before flying up. At the same time, Erix also readied his punch and attacked the incoming monster by spending 30 mana to execute his refined Imposing Fist.
[You have killed a level 75 Blue-Eyed Frog. An uncommon-grade healing potion has been added to your inventory.]
'Eh? Do we have consumables by killing monsters in this world?'
[Yes. Killing monsters on this floor might reward you with a consumable item or a box containing more than one consumable item.]
Erix thought he wouldn't gain anything since the monsters didn't just vanish after he killed them in this world but dropped a few of their valuable parts as material-type items.
After putting the materials the monster frog dropped into his inventory, Erix killed five more Blue-Eyed Frogs to complete one of his missions and then flew Northwest while thinking about the new task.
'Hmmm… If only I had more information on both parties' backgrounds, I could derive the consequences and rewards of both options.'
'Wait..'
Erix paused his flight and took out the communication card.
[ Erix: Hello, can you hear me? ]
[ Dylan: Why did you call? ]
[ Erix: Do you know Marquis Hamrax? ]
[ Dylan: Of course. He is a Marquis of Yorik Kingdom. His territory is on the other side of Water-Leaf Field. ]
[ Darius: Why are you asking about that trash?]
'Eh? Multiple people can join the communication like a conference call. Nice.'
'And this Darius seems to have some bad blood against this Marquis Hamrax.'
[ Erix: Nothing. I heard some people here talking about Marquish Harmax, so I thought about asking you about him. ]
[ Darius: That piece of trash is a cousin of the second royal prince. You should steer away from him, or he'll use you and chew you out. ]
[ Erix: I see. Thanks for letting me know. ]
Erix cut the communication and put the card into his inventory before cracking his index finger with a thoughtful expression. 'If he is a piece of trash that use and chew out...' A devilish grin stretched across Erix's face.
'And finally, my guts also tell me I should choose the first option.'
After flying for a while with his Aura Gear activated, Erix suddenly saw a few residual presences. 'It seems that they died recently.'
He knew that there was an entire world below these waters in the Water-Leaf region but didn't know extensive and deep it was.
After diving into the lake, he saw four dead bodies of Merfolks. Two of them had human legs, but the other two had fishtails instead of legs.
'Strange, can they transform at will?'
Erix reduced his presence and moved towards a giant tunnel, which was basically an underwater path.
After crossing it, he saw a huge cave spanning several kilometers with beautiful houses and other unique sea-stone structures. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
However, the beauty was ruined by blood and destruction.
"Kill every single one of them!"
"Arghhhh!"
The thirty-eight humans in adventurer-style clothing were fighting against around a hundred Merfolks. However, those Merfolks' levels ranged from 40 to 60, while those thirty people belonging to Marquis Hamrax were above level 70!
