Chapter 244: Raibor Power Slime, Radiant Lifebane Tree, Imminent Trouble
A root also emerged from below as soon as the seed sprouted and poured out the life power.
The root magically created a sparkling rich soil beneath it, existing yet ethereal.
The root anchored the seed while it sprouted a complete sapling and finally stopped leaking life power from it.
However, a new kind of power was coursing through it as it gradually grew.
The sapling grew thirty centimeters tall with several leaves before stopping as Erix also exhausted his Mana and Spirit force.
Of course, it could also grow with Mana only, but Spirit Force boosted the speed, making it grow into a sapling right off the bat after consuming his 9.3k Spirit Force.
'Hmmm, I can't continuously provide Spirit Force, but…'
Erix opened his eyes and took out a few crates from his Hunter Card.
"Lilith, that seed needs a lot of energy to grow into a tree and give me something solid," Erix said as he opened three crates.
They contained an abundance of resources they collected from hunters they killed. Tons of fruits, plants, and such natural resources, elemental stones, Mana stones, potions, Prana stones, and such things.
They've killed many Royal-order hunters, so their hunter cards weren't just for show. Noble-order hunters were poor in comparison.
"Do you want to use all of these resources for that tree? Hmm, that's a good idea," Lilith nodded. "These resources are not very beneficial to us, so you planned to sell them, but feeding them to your tree would be a better choice indeed."
Rin and Lily were focused on their rewards, finding more about them while Erix sat cross-legged with Lilith behind him and the crates of resources beside her.
She drained all resources, converting them into their base energy before infusing them into Erix.
Erix guided all that energy into the sapling as it started growing again.
This was a slow process as Lilith had to do it on one resource at a time, so while Lilith and Erix cultivated the tree, Lily and Rin roamed around the plateau and practiced combat.
Rin was wielding two weapons. One was her Blade eater turning into a Katana, and the other was a giant indigo slime with red and golden lightning patterns.
Even the fan's handle had two big eyes where Rin held it.
[Raibor Power Slime]
-A Bizarre-type fairy.
_Attributes: Attuned to Rin.
_Evolution Level: 1 ( 0 / 1000 Royal-order hunts)
_Abilities:
—> Power Boost: passively increase all of your elemental powers by 10%.
—> You can channel and shape this slime at your will, turning it into any weapon for you to wield. Skills released through this weapon deal 10% more elemental damage.
It was just a level 1 for now, so it still had the potential to grow.
*Swoosh!*
Rin swept her giant battle fan, causing thousands of blades to form with her control at once from the gust of wind she created.
Right after that, she slashed her katana, spinning and flowing the chaotic flow to the blades as her chronace flow controlled all those thousands of slashes.
Lily saw the incoming attack, but since it was an area attack and fast, her speed wouldn't be enough to dodge. Having no other choice, Lily's fingers released strings of condensed Mist and Ice as they weaved into layers around her, protecting her from all the blades.
Elements:
—> Primary: Wind (4th), Water (4th)
—> Advanced: Ice (4th), Mist (5th), wood (2nd)
Concepts: Weave (1st), Disperse (2nd), Spectral Glacian-attribute concept of Ice.
Lily had progressed her Wind and Water elements to the 4th realm since she was already in the 5th realm in Mist from the scroll of insight, and that made her speed of comprehending Wind and Water faster.
As such, despite Rin's attack all power, Lily essentially had much more power than Rin and Erix in terms of stats and other things, not including the fact that her skills were highly refined and other passive skills she had developed or gotten.
It was normal since Lily had been training for years, unlike Rin and Erix, who had begun their path of power roughly four months ago when the apocalypse descended on Earth.
But the appearance of the duo also increased the speed of Lily and Lilith as they began their power progression with them instead of leisurely and hidden like before when Lilith was not well in her foundation and bloodline.
The duo practiced against each other and even got injured, but it was normal.
After an hour, they took a break and saw that Lilith and Erix were also about to finish.
Lilith was close to finishing the resources in the last crates.
'Alright, almost all is done except for the Prana stones. I'm sending Prana inside, but you won't be able to control it, so let me handle it.'
'Alright,' Erix responded. The previous sapling had turned into a four-meter-tall tree with branches and bizarre lush green leaves with golden and blue patterns.
But his gaze was stuck on five different spots that grew something weird.
Lilith's consciousness soon arrived in his origin region, bringing with her the Prana energy.
'It's going to bear fruits soon,' Lilith grinned upon seeing the tree and those five weird spots.
'My source already balanced to 35%, and that's a huge boost considering I would have to suck dry a lot of Royal-order females for that,' Erix wryly smiled. 'Now I just want to eat fruits so I can get more pure life power to reach 40%.'
'From what I sense, you'll have easily progressed over 40% after eating the fruits,' Lilith chuckled. 'How's the progress of the tree now? It's becoming slow as we reach the completion.'
'The tree growth completion rate is at 89%,' Erix said. 'I suppose the tree will fully awaken once it hits 100%.'
'Yep. Let's see what wonders this tree shows once it completes,' Lilith said before absorbing Prana from another stone and pouring it into the tree.
After a short while, she finally finished all the resources, making the tree's progress reach 99%.
'I'll infuse my own spirit force and Prana, wait.'
Lilith began, pouring her Prana and Spirit force into the tree.
The fruits were rapidly maturing as she poured all of her energies, but even after she was finished, the progress stayed at 99%, and the fruits didn't change much after becoming the size of mangoes.
'This is strange…' Erix inspected the tree.
'I think it needs something specific to progress the last one. Inspect it.'
'Yeah.'
[Radiant Lifebane Tree]
_Completion: 99% (Requires a pure death source to finish to 100%.)
'Eh? What the…' Erix was stunned.
'What did you see?'
Erix shared it with Lilith, making her rub her imaginary chin in the origin region.
'The name does have some duality to it despite it being a Life-attributed resource. It's called Lifebane tree, after all,' Lilith ruefully chuckled. 'Whatever, let's give it what it needs.'
'I'll slowly infuse death power to it from my source,' Erix nodded with a cautious tone. 'I don't want to corrupt this tree or deviate from its original growth accidentally.'
…
"Fist of the Abyss…Anarchic Blade Dancer?"
"What the…"
The assassin and bald man had arrived on the ground and were stunned to see mirage crystals and people talking about it.
"Shit, Kaza…I think they'll reach the top. What do you think?" the assassin said to his bald friend Kaza.
"They've already reached there, Maxan," Kaza muttered as he looked at the duo killing a Royal-order hunter in a jiffy.
"Do you know them? Where did you see them last?"
Suddenly, they heard a voice from behind them and turned around to see a man with short dark blue hair combed nicely and wearing a plain yet regal robe.
"Dark Sterling Valen," Maxan exclaimed.
Kaza didn't know about him as he hadn't gone to the core domain yet nor heard about him, but his companion's reaction his inspect result told him what he needed to know.
"We met them at the 299th resting area. They are probably at the top receiving their unique rewards," Kaza replied.
"Thanks," Valen said before he vanished.
"Why did he want to know that?" Maxan scratched his head.
"What else but for something hostile?" Kaza snorted. "I feel like he wants to kill them or something."
"Then why did you tell him about them?" Maxan asked confusedly, "It's not like we have any enmity with that group."
"Yes, but I don't want to risk getting on this so-called Dark Sterling Valen's bad side," Kaza shook his head. "Our reaction to the mirage gave us away. If we lied, who knows what he might do?"
"Even if he can't, he must have his subordinates of Royal-order considering he is an Empyrean-order hunter," Kaza added.
"I see…" Maxam muttered before he weakly smiled. "What the hell…"
"Well, let's not get ourselves killed before we begin our journey," Kaza threw away the mirage crystal and said, "We should go without wasting further time here."
"Alright!"
