Chapter 193: Dooming Bet
As the dust settled, everyone saw a strange scene.
Erix was standing there unscathed, but he didn't seem to be present physically. They could see a faint transparent layer on him, but it was actually Erix who detached himself from the physical world and entered Space Limbo.
Erix's eyes were shut tight, but when he slowly opened his eyes, even he was shocked.
"I think I broke through to 2nd realm of Space affinity…"
Erix muttered.
"You scared me!"
"Seriously."
Rin and Lily heaved a sigh while Lilith couldn't help but wryly smile while shaking her head.
"Would that have killed me or not?" Erix approached the group while other people who were watching snapped out as well.
Lilith shook her head.
"Nope, but you would've been very severely injured, including your source, such that we would have to find a few rare things to heal you."
"Hey, you remember your bet, right?" Rin crossed her arms and sharply looked at Baltanor.
Erix also grinned and looked at the middle-aged man, who appeared hesitant.
"What's going on?"
A few people emerged from the level 4 cave passage and walked towards Baltanor.
"Baltanor?" one of them was a woman looking in her early thirties with long dark green hair, and behind her was a duo of a young man and woman similar to Erix's age in appearance.
"Nothing," Baltanor shook his head at them before he turned to Erix. "What do you want?"
Erix turned to Lilith. 'I leave this to you.'
"If he had lost, then he would've had to become your servant by contract," Lilith said as she walked beside Erix and Rin, facing Baltanor with a smile.
"So…he will want something of similar value."
Baltanor's face became stern.
"Senior Baltanor, what's going on?" the young man confusedly asked.
"Your senior made a bet and lost, hahaha."
Someone from the other group in the cave's left area answered with a laugh.
"Is that true?" the woman frowned.
She was also a Royal-order powerhouse.
"Yes, Maleina," Baltanor nodded with a hint of regret in his voice. He looked at Erix and Rin as he nodded, "I understand. Ask for something equivalent to that, but I won't become your servant."
"That's not equivalent because I am at Royal-order rank, and you are at Noble-order."
'What happened? Tell me from the start,' Maleina talked with Baltanor via telepathy using spirit sense.
Rin sneered.
"Are you out of your mind? Give us a few months, and both of us can kill you individually."
Erix chuckled and crossed his arms, "Yeah, you sure like to underestimate others and overestimate yourself, old man."
Baltanor's face turned hot due to embarrassment.
"And you even said he can ask for anything," Lily snorted. "You should cut off your tongue permanently if you like you speak so much but can't back it up."
"Stop," Maleina frowned. "I understand the situation. What do you want except for him becoming your servant."
"Then you can become one," Lilith raised her eyebrows and spoke in a cool, almost flat expression. "Or I can kill both of you and take everything you possess."
"If you kill them, none of you will live," the girl with a short light blue ponytail said, her expression fierce.
"Really?" Lilith smiled. "Who is going to kill us? You?"
"No, but her father," Maleina coldly said. "An Empyrean-order powerhouse situated in Core-Domain. We are here to explore the Fallen land for these two, that's all."
The majority of people here were outside of Fallen land, which was why they didn't recognize Reinala. The ones who had lived here had already explored this place and other places.
"I don't care," Lilith carefreely dismissed them before her gaze went to the ponytail girl who looked in her mid-twenties.
Lilith smilingly walked towards them while Erix and others followed her.
The group became face to face with just two meters of distance between Lilith and them.
"Baltanor lost the bet, so we'll comply, but don't demand something excessive," Maleina said, her voice firm.
"Lilith, if that bitch's father is an Empyrean order, then she must have a good bloodline, right?" Rin playfully grinned.
"Humph. I have a powerful bloodline of Epic grade. Luminance Aquanor Bloodline. It's better that you just quietly do your own thing and leave us alone lest you write your death sentence."
However, Erix and the group entirely ignored her threat.
"You want to add one more here?" Erix helplessly smiled. "Sigh, she seems to be more feisty than Reinala."
"Won't it be more fun to make a feisty one obedient?" Rin chuckled.
"What are you talking about?" Baltanor frowned.
Lily smiled and said, "If you don't want to become a servant, then won't we need to choose another?"
"Senior Baltanor, Maleina, let's just fight them. You are two, and the enemy is only one Royal order. I'm sure you two can kill her," the ponytail girl said while gritting her teeth, her murderous intent glowering. She was never insulted like this!
It was always she who would decide others' fate, not the other way around!
"That's right," the young man nodded as he took out two black daggers with dark green and dark pink patterns on them. "Lynia and I will take care of the Noble orders."
The other people in the cave went back to the edges as they thought a battle would soon occur.
But one of them shouted, "If you want to fight, do it outside! This cave is big, but not big enough for a group fight like yours! We don't want to get involved."
"You want to fight, eh?" Lilith chuckled.
"No," Baltanor shook his head.
'Lynia, Hokran. We can't afford to fight them,' Maleina said.
'Their Royal order is more powerful than us, their Noble-orders than you two. That guy just broke through to the 2nd realm of his Space Affinity after almost killing a Royal-order monster,' Baltanor also said to Lynia and Hokran both.
Lynia's face was slightly distorted upon hearing all that.
"Do you have any pure life-element resources?" Erix asked. "And by that, I mean Tier-5 and above resources of Life-element."
Lilith, Lily, Rin, and Erix were also in the single chat group of spiritual thoughts, so they were conversing as well.
"We don't have those," Maleina shook her head.
"Useless," Rin muttered. 'Erix, It would be better if you got that Aqua-bloodline bitch. She will be more useful to you, and it doesn't seem like she is any good.'
'Her murderous intent is visible, and her father being an Empyrean-order had made her arrogant,' Lily added as they spoke in the spirit chat group.
'Her bloodline can be useful since it's a water-life base. Her essence must have more life power than Klelia's essence. She is the best resource for you from them,' Lilith said.
Erix helplessly smiled. 'To be honest, I know she is terrible by her behavior and intent, but I don't want to revel in forcing someone. What if I get addicted to it?'
Rin turned her head to Erix and stared hard. 'Are you kidding me?! You are not that weak, darling. She is just a piece of meat that you have to beat in order to balance your source. She is a resource, just a live one.'
Lilith and Lily couldn't help but laugh at what Rin said, making the other group, who was silently waiting for their response, more irky by each second.
'Cough…'
Rin raised her eyebrows. 'There's no way that's your main reason not to get her. You are more aware of jungle law than me.'
Erix ruefully smiled. 'Well, my current progress is 11.21%, and it's really slow. I need resources, but she is weak. If I can get more like Reinala, I could progress faster.'
'Ah, so that's the case,' Rin grinned. 'You feel like your time is better used on other things instead of sucking that Noble-order bitch…'
'Yeah…'
'Then why didn't you say it first?' Rin crossed her arms.
Erix grinned. 'I wanted to see your response.'
Rin rolled her eyes.
Lilith suddenly remembered something and asked, 'By the way, can you check if your class task of killing a Royal-order monster while being at Noble-order was completed?'
Erix checked and was startled!
'It's actually completed because of that fight! But didn't deal the killing blow it…'
'Haha, nice. It doesn't matter, but since you finished that task, don't you want to finish the other task and get the class quickly?'
'I do,' Erix nodded with a sigh. 'It would be best if I can get it before I fight that lion-man. He seemed way stronger than Remnant of Royal-order.'
'For sure, he is. Alright, let me handle this,' Lilith smiled and winked at him before turning to the Baltanor's group.
"We've decided what we want," Lilith said.
"What?! Hurry up," Lynia said as she crossed her arms under her C-cup boobs.
"We want…" Lilith's voice trailed while she smiled, but she was internally speaking with the group.
'Erix, I leave Lynia to you. Immobile her with your 2nd realm space affinity. It's easy peasy for you now.'
'Lily and Rin, kill that Noble-order guy in one second. Don't give him any chance. I'll take on those two.'
"Please tell it," Baltanor said with a somber face. "We'll give it as long as we have it."
Right after that, Baltanor's and Maleina's expressions drastically changed. Time slowed down as their hands slowly moved and their Prana whirled, but before they could do anything, a huge dark red blood magic circle appeared above them, slamming them onto the ground.
Lynia and Hokran were unaffected because of protection, but Rin and Lily moved at breakneck speed.
Rin turned into a light, her katana already in a crescent slashing motion at Hokran's neck while Lily's sword also went straight towards his neck.
As for Lynia, she was frozen in her place as if space itself held her, and before she could use a skill, Erix plastered a bunch of metal layers around her, sealing her in a ten-layered metal armor.
With his level 4 Metal affinity, it was impossible for her to break it or react to his element-conjuring speed.
