Chapter 173: Fallen Land, A Tough Challenge
After one and a half hours, Erix returned alone to the top deck and sat at the table beside Lilith.
"It seems that Lily wants to savor the taste for a while longer," Lilith smiled.
"She was screaming and moaning, full enjoyment, hahaha."
Erix laughed. He then turned to Rin and raised his eyebrows, "is that…"
Lilith nodded.
"Yep. Nine hours of continuous focus, and she got an insight as well. The wind around her indicates that she will awaken her Wind Affinity soon."
"Great!" Erix grinned.
…
After half an hour, Lily arrived on the deck and sat at the table with a new set of outfits that consisted of her usual layered white traditional dress.
"Did you have fun, lass?" Lilith mischievously chuckled.
"Mhm," Lily slightly nodded with slight red cheeks and sat at the table. "Don't say more, please. When you say it, I feel shy."
"Erix, did you do it in rough style or moderate?"
"Moderate and gentle, why?"
"Then do it rough next time," Lilith grinned. "She'll enjoy it more."
"It's more exhausting, but not more for me," Erix shrugged and grinned.
"Sroooshhh*
Suddenly, the winds started gathering intensely, and everyone looked at Rin.
A greenish-cyan aura oozed out of her as all winds danced and whirled around her.
"Since we are in the Nether Region, Rin can try to create a Nether Wind source instead of regular Wind," Lilith said, her eyes narrowed.
"How?" Erix raised his eyebrows.
"Nether Wind was produced because a being above Empyrean-order died here. His death transformed the land and atmosphere, and since he was master of Wind, with a Nether concept attached to it, all winds in this region turned into Nether Wind."
"Concept? So we can give more powers to our elements with concepts?" Erix was shocked.
"Not all concepts," Lily wryly smiled. "For example, your Punch concept is not an attribute-type concept. It's an intent-type concept."
"So, we need an attribute-type concept to give powers to our elements?" Erix asked.
"Yep. Many have tried to acquire this Nether Wind, but only a few have succeeded," Lilith nodded. "Rin should also try and see. Moreover, the place we are going to after Fallen land is the core of the Nether Region, so she might get higher chances if she works hard for it."
*Swoosh!*
All winds suddenly dispersed as they heard Rin's voice.
"What should I work hard for, eh?"
"Haha, congrats, darling," Erix grinned and hugged her. "You got your second affinity."
"Yey," Rin showed a victory sign after kissing him.
"We were talking about the Nether Wind," Lilith faintly smiled. "If you want it, you might be able to get it."
Lily explained about the Attribute-type concept and Intent-type concept, making Rin eager to try.
"I'll definitely focus on it," Rin nodded while grinning. "This Nether Wind is powerful. I know because I've been drowning my consciousness in it for many hours."
"If I can have Nether Wind core, my offense will shoot up," Rin's eyes shone.
"Yep. Anyway, good work, everyone. Now, it's time to have a feast."
Lilith waved her hand and took away the clothing that covered the big dining table in the middle.
…
After having a big feast that energized them, Rin and Erix went back to training.
Lily wanted to hunt monsters and collect cores, so she was sitting at a table and killing flying monsters that encountered them often in the air since Lilith flew at a low altitude.
That also had a chance for monsters on the landscapes to attack their flying ship, so there were more monsters to hunt for our assassin, white death lady.
Time passed as seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours…
…
"There it is," Lilith said before looking at the sky.
"We have ten minutes," she added.
The whole area below them was barren yet full of energy. It was a literal black forest on this fifty-kilometer area of barren land.
But there was a five-kilometer area covered in a mystical, dreamy green and golden barrier in the middle of the land.
"That's the central of Fallen land that came up. Basically, it's a lift, and it's there for only ten minutes," Lilith informed.
Lilith increased the ship's speed.
"Cool, that seems to be a massive and powerful barrier," Erix said as he looked at the giant barrier.
"Yep. That gorge is not a natural hole. It's a mystical gorge leading to Nether Depths, so a barrier is needed to prevent weaker people from dying from the magical pressure when the land falls," Lily said.
"How weak?" Rin curiously asked.
Lily weakly smiled, "Noble-order and below. Our bodies are not strong enough, and mana is useless against that pressure. We need Prana and powerful bodies like Royal-order powerhouse."
Rin and Erix were startled.
"But noble orders are abundant, and they are the main workforce. It doesn't even take long to reach the noble order in Fallen Land due to its resources, but the danger is more so only brave and talented ones who are heirs and newer generations go there," Lilith chuckled. "With bodyguards, of course."
"Just like that one that you two killed it."
Rin and Erix remembered as they smiled. They also created their first combo skill, Thunder Nuke, to complete that task.
"It went easier than we thought."
"Yep."
Erix saw that their ship was going to reach the barrier, but the speed was not slowing.
"Wait, why aren't we slowing?" Rin confusedly looked at Lilith and Lily.
"This barrier doesn't prevent us. I have a pass," Lilith smiled as she took out a card with dark purple and dark green patterns.
"They created these cards that will spread to make the barrier recognize it and let us through," Lilith said, and their ship also zoomed through the barrier.
Erix and Rin felt a weird sensation of sensing some energy, but it wasn't much.
"These must be mandatory," Rin said as she looked at the card, but her gaze was soon attracted by the exotic city and buildings on it.
"This is crazy. So many kinds of crystal, wood, and metal structured buildings of exotic themes? It's chaos," Erix said in surprise.
"Yep. This is one of the power spots and the first one in our journey," Lilith said. "Power spots means special places full of resources and dangers."
"But not simple resources," Lily interjected. "What we are talking about are opportunities and fortunes tied with dangers."
"There are abundant resource phenomena, but they are very competitive, so death is common here," Lily eagerly smiled. "You'll know once we reach there."
"You seem raring to go, eh?" Rin raised her eyebrows.
"Yep. I'll break through to Royal order here," Lily grinned.
*Dhoom!*
Suddenly, everyone heard a rumbling sound before their ship stopped.
Lilith's expression darkened as she saw a muscular and humanoid lion giant floating before them with black-gold mixed fur.
"Who is he?" Erix frowned.
"No idea," Lilith said before she vanished.
The giant lion beast-man with a majestic mane suddenly saw Lilith appearing before him as she crossed her arms.
"What are you doing, big cat?"
But not even batting an eye, the Royal order beastfolk of the Dark Blaze Lion tribe said with a wide grin, "I saw you when you entered that barrier."
"I like your beauty. Come with me."
Lilith was speechless, "do you want to die?"
"Hahahahaha! You can't kill me."
Erix arrived beside her as he teleported.
"Get away, kitty. Or You will really die here," Lilith smiled and grabbed Erix's arm, pressing it tightly on her breasts.
The lion beast-man raised his eyebrows as he looked at Erix.
"And I already have a man who is way better than you."
"This puny guy?" the beast-man narrowed his eyes at Erix before he burst out laughing. "You are saying this puny noble order is better than me?!"
"So far, I've grabbed two Royal order women forcefully," the lion beast-man grinned. "You'll be third."
"Lilith, I've decided," Erix said in a calm tone before Lilith could speak.
But the fires in his eyes told her and the beast-man of his raging emotion.
"This circus lion will be the first Royal-order powerhouse I'll kill."
Lilith grinned and kissed him passionately before turning to the Lion beast-man, "You are below for two months, right?"
"After two months, he'll present your head on your hands."
"Hahahahaha!!…"
The lion beast-man barely controlled his laughter and anger as he spoke with a rageful grin, "I didn't expect to get looked down to such a degree. Alright!"
"I am here for two months. Decide name and place. I'll be there to kill him and take you."
The beast-man threw a comm-card at Erix.
Erix grabbed it and grinned, "Come and die after two months."
*Swoosh.*
The lion beast-man vanished towards the city with a powerful gust of wind.
"Oh darling, you've really put yourself into a tough situation," Lilith lovingly said.
Rin arrived beside Erix and snorted as she looked at the aura trail that the beast-man had left.
"Humph, that's how it should be, Lilith. Erix made the correct choice in challenging that asshole."
Rin grinned. "This is more challenging and fun."
"Hey, honey. When a random woman wants you someday like this, then I'll challenge her," Rin chuckled and pinched Erix.
"That would be great," Erix laughed and pulled her into his hug.
The three of them teleported back to the ship as Lily said, "Lady Lilith, how much power would Erix need to kill that Lion?"
"Him reaching Royal order in two months is impossible, right?" Lily was concerned.
"Lilith must have some idea, which was why she followed up with Erix," Rin said as she turned to Lilith and blinked.
Erix turned to Lilith and coughed before he said with a serious expression, "Although I was also half-relying on your idea, I am prepared to work harder than usual, and a part of me challenged him to put more pressure on myself."
Lilith wrapped her arms around him and smiled, "In the next two months, you need Space Affinity at level 2, Metal affinity at level 3, Punch concept at level 3, stabilize your source to 50%, and defeat a Royal order monster to get your unique and powerful class."
"You will be able to kill that circus lion…only if you meet these conditions within certain time-frames set by me."
"In short, you need to kill a Royal-order monster after twenty days, even if it's a level 201 Royal-order monster that just recently evolved."
Erix's eyes burned with resolve, and the thrill of the pressure motivated him further, "I am ready."
"Good. Now, we wait for a few minutes until this land falls and joins with the rest of the vast Fallen Land."
Lilith looked at the colorful city as the ship floated on the outskirts. "But we'll have to descend before it falls."
"Let's book a hotel room. We'll plan our initial schedules first."
