Chapter 160: Shopping, Griomoire
"So, who is she?" Erix curiously asked as the trio left the old shop and arrived on the main pathway from the alley.
"And you said we'll meet her again in Core Domain…" Rin trailed off, slightly confused at that statement.
Lilith smiled and took out the scroll in which Granny May drew the route to Death Root.
"This route didn't exist before she designed it. The landscape, resources, dangers, and everything there was changed the moment she drew this route."
"That's how powerful she is," Lilith continued. "In simple terms, she has God-like powers, but there are also some rules that affect her."
Erix and Rin were shocked.
"No wonder Inspect didn't work on her," Erix muttered. "Can we become as powerful as her?"
Lilith chuckled.
"We can, but it takes time for us to stay alive. She is outside the influence and any bindings of Mystic Root as her existence is not part of it, but a part of something bigger that encompasses everything in existence."
Rin raised her eyebrows and asked, "So, this Mystic Root thing is also not omnipotent?"
Lilith smiled.
"It is until a certain level of existence plane, but once you go past it, it is no longer omnipotent for you. After all, Mystic Root is just one of the seven wonders of the Grand Primal Cosmos. It selects worlds and connects them to make people powerful. Its job is to push living beings on the path of evolution."
Rin and Erix gulped while their faces turned slightly red. This information was too much. But it also excited them to no end!
"Ahem, so what next?" Erix asked.
"Let's buy you a pair of Tier-4 armor sets," Lilith grinned. "You two need more defenses since our Journey to Death Root won't be easy. Granny May knew what we wanted, so when we finish our journey, we'll have all the ingredients ready to manifest your unique bloodline."
"Great," Rin rubbed her palms while smiling. "But before we leave, can we have some passionate training sessions so I can level up my Bloodline to the next level? I need 43 Blood Essence."
"Of course. I also need it," Lilith chuckled.
Both of them looked at Erix, but Erix shrugged and smirked, "I got you."
…
Soon, the trio arrived at a luxurious big shop in the city's center area.
Tier-4 was a new realm of power, and only the royal order could use the full power of Tier-4 items and skills.
The reason was simple. Royal Order powerhouses no longer had Mana. Instead, they had Prana. It was an evolved form of Mana and stronger.
The advanced magic formations all needed Prana to be activated, and all Tier-4 items and skills had Advanced magic formations, so without Prana, people wouldn't be able to use them to their full potential.
However, Rin and Erix could still benefit from the defense of Tier-4 armor sets because they were made from stronger materials and automatically gave them stronger defense.
Moreover, the passive perks of Tier-4 armor sets would still apply to them, so having a Tier-4 armor set was better than a Tier-3 armor set even if one hadn't reached Royal Order rank.
"Next, let's buy weapons," Lilith said. "Tier-4 weapons are useless to you, so we'll get Tier-3 Legendary grade weapons."
"Alright."
"I need two weapons," Rin crossed her arms. "After that, My Blade Eater can finally evolve."
Lilith chuckled. "No problem."
Rin only added three weapons to her new Blade Eater so far since it had been reset after arriving in Abyss.
After entering the special weapon shop that only sold weapons and custom-made them for customers, Rin readily chose two Bladed weapons. One was a Lightning attributed spear, and another was a wind-attributed battle-fan.
Rin wanted a variety of bladed weapons that she knew how to wield. Hence, she chose those.
As for Erix, he couldn't decide what weapon would be suitable for him.
Standing in front of a showcase containing gauntlets, he rubbed his chin. "No more gauntlets. I can create custom gauntlets to exert the full potential of my punch skills, so I need something different."
"Do you have any suggestions?"
Lilith was standing beside him, thinking.
"Actually, you shouldn't buy weapons," Lilith said with a smile. "Let's get you something else. Something that will allow you to be flexible since you have the Metal affinity."
"What?" Rin curiously asked.
"Magic Smithing. Let's get him a craft-type Grimoire, Magsmith. During our adventure, we'll also encounter many materials, so he can practice that."
"Nice. Erix will become a walking shop of weapons then," Rin grinned. "He can make anything he wants."
"That's it!" Erix slammed his fist on his palm. "I wanted to do that in the first place, but somehow it had left my mind."
A grin spread on his face as he had many ideas. "Space and Metal, and with the ideas I have…."
Erix laughed. "You are going to be surprised at the ideas I have to create weapons."
"What kind?"
"Secret. But I want to create one weapon and a skill based on it before we depart."
Lilith shook her head. "We won't take long to depart. Our first destination is Fallen Land. We'll train there and also clear a labyrinth. That area is still safe, so we'll also spend more time there for our passionate training sessions."
…
Lilith took them to buy a craft-type Grimoire, and Erix readily learned it.
[Grimoire: Magsmith]
_Level 1 [ 0/1000 Smith.Exp ]
_Skills:
—> Magic Furnace level 1.
—> Magic Anvil level 1.
—> Metal Mending level 1.
—> Sigil Art level 1.
Erix could feel a wave of new knowledge entering him as he learned the grimoire. He already had the basic knowledge of Magsmithing due to the ten-day classes he attended, so he knew how to use those skills.
"There's still one more thing left," Lilith said with a smile as they left the store.
"What?" Rin asked in confusion. "Didn't we get all the necessary things?"
"Nope," Lilith started walking and said, "You two don't have passive skills. Passive skills are hard to learn, and you two haven't focused on it."
"And Erix," Lilith turned to Erix. "Magsmithing will take a lot of your mana, so you need a passive skill that quickly recovers your mana by doing something akin to meditation. If you want to progress fast, that is essential."
"Passive skills," Erix wryly smiled. "We indeed forgot about them."
"Yeah. Monsters don't drop skills, and we haven't had time to create passive skills," Rin nodded. "How to create passive skills in the first place? It seems harder than active skills."
"Yep. To create a passive skill, you need a catalyst that acts as its core. I'll teach you that later. For now, let's get some passive skills."
