Chapter 151: Spirit Force Practice, Next Race
'Amidst the storm of chaos, I remain the eye of tranquility.'
Erix repeated this as he looked at this chaotic world around him and the pattern of Spirit Force imprinted in his consciousness.
He tried to use Spirit Force, which was extremely difficult in this chaotic world.
Rin also did the same, knowing they had to use their Spirit Force to create this pattern in this chaotic world.
However, it was easier said than done because the pressure increased every second, making their focus break with pain and disturbance.
Whenever they connected a few lines, their spirit force would scatter, and their effort would vanish, making them start all over.
But they were clearly making progress, and both knew it was thanks to their heightened focus and buffs of being in Limitless Plane.
Still, after trying for the next fifteen minutes, they couldn't form the complete pattern and gave up. It was time to leave.
"This is hard..." Erix wryly smiled.
"But once we complete this formation in that chaotic world, we might get something powerful to wield," Rin grinned, excited about this new power.
"That's for sure," Erix nodded and rubbed his chin. "The formation that formed after we chanted the verse looked like an eye but with many complicated patterns inside. Hmm, we might get some spiritual ability related to ocular power."
"Yep, that would be great," Rin nodded. "As long as our perception gets stronger, our combat ability and survivability will boost."
The duo left the Limitless Plane afterward and opened their eyes outside.
Their spirit sense automatically spread out as it was a habit to remain cautious. Everyone who unlocked their Spirit Sense would usually make this habit quickly.
'Erix! Did you notice?'
'Of course,' Erix replied, a grin stretched across his face. 'At least that last fifteen minutes in Limitless Plane was not wasted.'
Indeed, the pressure and pain they endured in that chaotic stormy world while trying to form the pattern with their Spirit Force actually benefitted them!
Their Spirit stat clearly increased by 10 points, and their spirit sense's range reached seven kilometers at max! Their Spirit Force's capacity also increased by 100.
Melissa sensed Erix and Rin's spirit sense spreading and turned to them before asking, "Are you two done?"
'Their spirit force became a bit stronger,' Melissa raised her eyebrows. 'But not threatening enough.'
"Yep."
Rin and Erix nodded before they looked up to see the countdown.
"The next race's details will appear in eight minutes since a hundred winners are here," the wolf-man said. His teammates were meditating, oozing out their respective elemental auras as they refined their bodies.
"Tsk, Savage Maw House's group is still that big?" Erix said after he looked around and spotted the biggest group consisting of twenty-six people with similar colors of armor sets and symbols.
"It is. But none of them will win," Melissa shrugged. "Gentle Death will kill all of them if he gets a chance, but if that's not possible, he will ensure none of them wins."
"It looks like he has some deep feud with that guild," Rin said.
"Yep. According to rumors, his son, along with his group, was wiped out by a group of Savage Maw House's members," Melissa revealed.
"I see. Anyway, we'll take a bit more rest since there's still time," Erix said before he conversed with Rin.
'Rin, let's spend our stat points. I'll put all of them on Strength since that seems best for me at the moment,' Erix said as he spent his unassigned stat points, which numbered 178, into Strength.
_Life orb: [74%/100%]
--> [ Strength: 778 ]
--> [ Agility: 600 ]
--> [ Health: 600 ]
--> [ Stamina: ]
--> [ Spirit: 20 / Spirit Force: 1100/1100 ]
--> [ Magic affinity: Rank-A / Magic power: 600 / Mana: 2000/2000 ]
'Alright. It's time we spend them,' Rin nodded. 'Hmm...Alright, I'll spend all of my points on Agility and Strength, half-half.'
'Yeah, that's best for you.'
_Vitality: [100%/100%]
_Stat points: 0
--> [ Strength: 689 (+100) ]
--> [ Agility: 689 (+100) ]
--> [ Health: 600 (+100) ]
--> [ Stamina: 600 (+100) ]
--> [ Spirit: 20 / Spirit Force: 1100/1100 ]
--> [ Magic affinity: Rank-B / Magic power: 600 (+100) / Mana: 2000/2000 (+1000) ]
'Also, Rin. I am out of blood, so I need a bit of yours to fill up my Life Orb,' Erix said.
'What about our Ignis Ed intimacy? Should I use it for this checkpoint race?'
'No,' Erix replied. 'It has five hours cooldown, so we won't be able to use it again. I've already used mine, so let's save yours for the last two checkpoints.'
'Alright. That's better indeed.'
"Guy, there are five minutes left, so I think we should open a few Chaos skill scrolls we bought from the shop and put them in Chaos Gadgets," Melissa suddenly suggested.
"The next three races will be intense and quick, as I previously said. We have to prepare beforehand," she added somberly.
"Let's open at least five skill scrolls and put them in chaos gadgets. We'll revolve our teamwork according to it. Defend, Attack, or Control, we'll decide based on that," the wolf-man said.
"No problem," Erix smiled.
Although Rin and Erix initially decided to separate from Melissa in the next checkpoint, the advantage they had with her couldn't be ignored, so they didn't say anything and kept this group as it was.
...
"My class is tank-based, so I already have proper defense skills. I can just put in chaos gadgets," the brown-wolf man said. "So, I'll open three control-skill scrolls and two attack-skill scrolls."
"That skill is good."
"If you have an Ice-based attack skill, you can exchange it with me for another attack skill. My ranger-based class and ice affinity can take advantage of Ice-based skills more."
"Alright."
"Hmm, this is space-based control skill. Erix, you can have it in exchange for some other control skill..."
The group quickly opened their skill scrolls and told others what they got before putting them in chaos gadgets and also exchanging some skills for each other's advantage.
By the time they were done, the countdown also hit zero, and the next checkpoint race's name appeared in the sky, and everyone who looked at it also got its information.
But the first line of Note for the race caused everyone to raise their eyebrows. However, the conditions to pass this race were not easy to finish!
[Third Checkpoint Race: Adrift for Hunt.]
_Note: the fourth checkpoint race will immediately start for whoever passes the third checkpoint race. Only fifty will pass the third checkpoint race.
