Chapter 589: Chapter 583: You Need to Leave Earth

“Forget it, let’s get some sleep.” Finn Lewis shook his head, getting ready to leave when suddenly, a blip appeared in his radar range. He quickly glanced at the blip and frowned, then swiftly commanded, “Invisibility mode on, anti-gravity mode on, shut off the engines.”

The Red Storm instantly faded into the background. As its engines shut down, it hovered silently, seeming almost ghost-like. There were plenty of things within his radar’s range, but what startled Finn wasn’t the detection of a target. It was the speed and altitude of the target. At least Mach 7, and an altitude of… 32,000 kilometers! That was less than a thousand kilometers below his current altitude. Such heights were not typically attainable with Earth’s aviation technology.

Even the North Federation’s ‘Goddess of Dawn’ wasn’t capable of reaching such heights, hence why Finn instinctively activated Red Storm’s invisibility mode. In this mode, the Red Storm was almost impossible to detect. However, at this moment, Finn wasn’t worried about Earth-based forces, even though various nations might be conducting surveillance. They mostly used drones and satellites, seldom high-altitude surveillance aircraft.

Finn’s eyes widened as he noticed the rapidly approaching target. Soon, into his line of sight flew a spacecraft with a strange design. Its overall shape was similar to a conventional aircraft, but with massive wings and six engines at the rear–four small ones and two large ones. Interestingly, it stopped dead at a height of around 300 meters below where Finn was located.

Seeing this aircraft, or rather spaceship, he was convinced that it must belong to the aliens. Specifically, it had likely been the man who had attempted to kill him earlier. The previous attack instigated by Yoshikazu must have been backed by these individuals. Following that incident, they had seemingly maintained a low profile. But this time, their spaceship blatantly presented itself before Finn.

However, despite the spaceship’s appearance before him, he could only see it thanks to Red Storm’s optical features. In reality, the spaceship was indeed cloaked, rendering it invisible to the naked eye.

Unlike the previous spaceship, Finn noticed an unusual feature on this one. Prominently displayed on its upper side was a silver lightning bolt intersecting with a dark red hammer.

The spaceship hung motionless in mid-air. As Finn pondered over its purpose, the spaceship’s hatch suddenly swung open. Was it going to be like the previous time, with assassins being sent out? But it wasn’t. Two humans, one male and one female, emerged from the spacecraft. Their dark uniforms, as well as the devices attached to their hands and feet, helped them maintain perfect balance in the air.

They stepped out of the spaceship as though on a casual stroll.

“Damn!” Finn was taken aback, admiring the pair’s equipment that outdid his own anti-gravity device. His could only move directly up and down with difficulty, whereas they had the same agility in the air as they would on the ground. Their gear didn’t resemble the cold weapons used by previous peculiar-looking assassins; they bore firearms with a futuristic design, with what he knew would be a serious devastation capability.

Finn was slightly on edge, having no idea who these individuals were or what they were up to. But if they were his targets, they were evidently better equipped than what he had encountered before.

“Personal opinion, you better leave here as soon as possible.” Zero’s voice sounded again.

“What do you mean?” Finn queried immediately. Zero rarely made unsolicited comments, but they were usually about aliens, and Zero was definitely an alien product. Finn wasn’t quite sure if Zero was an alien.

“I’ve detected a large battleship on the satellite orbit, on the far side of the moon. At least the size of a cosmic cruiser. With its firepower, it can easily wipe out all life on Earth within a few hours.” Zero’s voice quickly responded.

Finn was taken aback. A large cosmic warship? “Hold on, are you saying the spaceship of the extra-terrestrial, who attacked me outside of Celeston City, didn’t have a large cosmic warship in its convoy?” Finn realized something.

There was silence, and then Zero replied with two words: “No.”

Finn’s eyes narrowed in thought. No? What did that mean? The smaller spaceship wasn’t large, but it undoubtedly had interstellar travel ability. The point was that although small spacecraft could be equipped for interstellar travel, they wouldn’t be as efficient or safe for long-distance voyages compared to a large warship.

Of course, small spacecraft also had their advantages. Like… stealth! Finn wasn’t a novice anymore, and he had learned about advanced sciences beyond the Earth. Things like the warp drive or space-jump technology used in interstellar travel. This technology wasn’t hard to track, and the threshold for tracking was even lower than for warp technology itself.

To monitor a spaceship, one had only to pick up the trail and fluctuations left by its warp drive. Unless the warp drive was extremely outdated, it was almost always possible to follow. However, it was hard to distinguish between fluctuations if there were many spaceships; tracing a single one might be a challenge.
