Chapter 545: Chapter 539: Playing Unconventionally
When Jay Sommer arrived in Tebonia, it was morning. After disembarking from the plane, she saw Tebonia’s Prince Alfred Alvarid, who had been sent to receive her. “Greetings, Prince Alvarid,” Jay Sommer said with a smile.
“Greetings, Miss Sommer,” Alfred Alvarid replied with a smile, unable to resist eying her up and down. Jay Sommer was undeniably a top-tier beauty. Although his taste differed slightly from that of the people of Asia, he had to admit that the woman before him was truly captivating.
“Forgive my impromptu visit, Prince Alvarid,” Jay said with a smile after they got into the car.
“Not at all. If all visitors were as delightful as Miss Sommer, I would welcome impromptu visits every day.” Alfred Alvarid made a playful remark.
“This visit is about reaching a certain agreement with Tebonia,” Jay said, still smiling.
“May I know the nature of this agreement?” Alfred Alvarid’s face became serious, but he was somewhat perplexed as Jay was straightforwardly addressing the main issue.
“It’s a sort of a confidential agreement…” Jay Sommer said with a smile.
“We can find a suitable place for a detailed discussion,” Alfred Alvarid suggested after some thought. Without turning down his offer, Jay agreed, recognising that the car was not the best place for such a discussion.
“But I hope that, Prince Alvarid, the matter remains confidential. I’ve never been here, and the same is true for Mr. Finn Lewis whom I represent. Our visit today should be considered nonexistent,” Sommer explained casually.
“Rest assured, Miss Sommer,” Alfred Alvarid quickly nodded, indicating that he understood. Although Alfred Alvarid was a Prince, he held significant influence in Tebonian royalty. In fact, he was also accountable for a part of Tebonia’s official duties. Thus, Jay’s approach to him was appropriate, as she could not possibly meet with the King of Tebonia.
Soon, the convoy entered a private residence owned by Alfred Alvarid. After settling down in a meeting room, Alfred Alvarid turned to Jay and asked, “What advice does Miss Sommer wish to share?”
“Advice would be too grand a term, it’s more of a secret agreement,” Jay said with a smile. “I’m curious to know how you view the future of international oil prices, Prince Walid.”
“Are you referring to the surge in international crude oil futures today?” Alfred Alvarid immediately asked.
“No, not at all. This surge in the futures market is merely the result of Finn Lewis’ operations. I’m referring to the long-term outlook,” Jay Sommer explained casually.
“Then oil prices will definitely rise,” Alfred Alvarid said concisely. “Despite rumors and reports indicating that new technologies from various countries could gradually replace oil technology, and the advent of shale oil and shale gas technology threatening traditional oil reserves, it’s undeniable that these technologies come at a high cost and are environmentally harmful. This is unlike oil in the east of the Flame Nation, which is extremely convenient to extract. Perhaps this could pose a solution in the future, but I fear the price of oil won’t plunge drastically for quite some time.”
Jay Sommer merely smiled and gestured to an assistant behind her to bring over a laptop. She placed the laptop on the table between them and opened a file folder inside. Meanwhile, Alfred Alvarid’s gaze was drawn to the thin, silver laptop, which was merely seven to eight millimeters thick.
Moreover, its entire body was only this thick. When its screen was lifted, Alfred Alvarid discovered that this laptop was a new piece of technology, its keyboard was touch-sensitive, similar to a mobile phone’s, but the only difference was that pressing on its soft touch-sensitive screen felt like pressing a regular keyboard.
Not only that, but this interface could also convert into a display screen. Similarly, the top screen could change too, making the entire device look possessively futuristic.
Unfazed by his attention, Jay opened a document and pushed it towards Alfred Alvarid, saying, “After reading this document, Prince Alvarid, where do you believe future oil prices will lie?”
With that, she comfortably sat back on the sofa. On hearing her words, Alfred Alvarid shifted his gaze from the laptop to the document. Reading the document’s content, which was in Arabic, Alfred Alvarid understood that Jay was well-prepared. However, as he understood its implications, his previously relaxed features instantly became grave.
He efficiently grabbed the laptop and began reading through the content. Jay didn’t disturb him, allowing him to efficiently go through the document, which was a technical report or a product feasibility report that had already undergone trials and was ready for mass scale production!
The product had a simple name: Graphene High Energy Battery. Yes, it was a high-performance battery derived from graphene, its capacity was approximately ten times that of a conventional lithium-ion battery, but its charging time was over a thousand times faster. In simpler terms, a graphene battery could charge a device at a rate that’s typically achieved in several hours within just a minute! Moreover, it could offer ten times the original capacity.
To put it simply, if a phone battery currently lasts for ten hours, and if it’s replaced with a graphene battery of equivalent size, it would last for a hundred hours, which is over four days – a transformative development for contemporary smartphones! Importantly, it only takes one minute to charge! What does this imply? Your phone would never run out of battery power.
