Chapter 515: Chapter 509: Too Crazy

Immediately afterward, a dazzling purple light flashed, and the terrifying Void Behemoth Leviathan that had just darkened the sky vanished into thin air.

“Temporal jump. It’s already headed to another planet,” Zero’s voice suddenly volunteered.

Finn Lewis was rendered speechless. Damn, was this really a creature? Using its own body to travel through space? Moreover, it’s a space journey involving a temporal jump.

“What exactly did it just throw down?” Finn asked curiously.

“A ball of nutrients, as well as the Insect Species’ Worker Bee Queen,” Zero’s voice replied.

A worker bee? Finn wasn’t sure if Zero translated it that way for his understanding, or if that’s how this creature genuinely is. Regardless, it reminded Finn of a game—StarCraft, where a single worker bee could develop into an entire swarm! Could these worker bees possess the same ability? If not, why did the Void Behemoth Leviathan bother leaving just a ball of something and then took off away from this place?

If they’re really trying to occupy the entire planet, it means that they believe that one is enough to conquer the whole planet. The idea that Finn had earlier resurfaced. He couldn’t help but ask, “Zero, please tell me exactly how the Icarus Insect Species rule.”

“The Icarus Insect Species’ structure resembles that of ants and bees, with clear divisions and roles. The only difference is that the Supreme Ruler of the Icarus Insect Species is the first one to be born. Every Icarus insect has the Supreme Ruler’s psychic wave imprinted deep into its soul at birth. “The universe is so vast. Can these insects still receive the Supreme Ruler’s psychic waves when they’re in other places?” Finn asked curiously.

“This is considered a unique capability of the Icarus Insect Species. Their psychic wave reception covers a vastly extensive range; it’s a kind of unique telepathic signal, especially for the intelligent Icarus Insect Species. Even if they leave this range, there will be a manager on each planet. The psychic wave imprinted deep within their genetics rules out betrayal, guaranteeing complete obedience. If they can’t receive orders due to distance, they can use mental transmission or other methods to relay them, like the Parasite Humans on this planet.” Zero paused here for a moment.

Then, under Finn’s puzzled gaze, it continued, “Without orders from above, these humans infected by infection bugs can be seen as creatures without any wisdom. But as you just saw, the arrival of higher-ranking insects allows for immediate control over these infection bugs! That’s what makes insects terrifying.”

Finn narrowed his eyes momentarily; after some thought, he said, “Since the insects can’t contact their Supreme Ruler, how can they know whether their Supreme Ruler is dead or alive?”

“A sort of hyper-telepathy inherited through genetics,” Zero responded.

“I understand three-dimensional space, and four-dimensional space adds time to the three dimensions. Five-dimensional space transcends four dimensions, and it’s said that even the flow of time in five dimensions is more like a river that can be manipulated. So what’s six-dimensional space?” Finn suddenly changed the topic.

“Even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand,” Zero replied after a pause.

“Okay, I get it. But, I want to know, do you possess any genetic modification technology?” Finn asked, squinting.

“What do you intend to do?” Zero asked, curiosity filling its tone for the first time.

“If I were to capture an insect, could you make my psychic wave become the same as what is embedded in their genes, similar to the existence of the Supreme Ruler?” Finn tentatively asked.

“We can. It would cost five million points, and I can only alter one insect. However, you won’t be able to take over unless the insect’s actual Supreme Ruler is dead,” Zero replied succinctly.

“Oh, I understand,” Finn nodded.

“Brother, who are you talking to?” Laura Rhodes finally couldn’t resist asking in a soft voice.

“I’m talking to a bad guy. Don’t worry, I’ll take you to a safe place,” Finn said, smiling. He reached out to pat Laura and McDon Taylor. “Zero, send them both back to modern space,” he commanded.

“Two thousand points,” Zero stated succinctly.

“Sure,” Finn nodded, then turned to McDon and Laura, “Someone will take you to a place, don’t be scared. There will be people to look after you there, arrange for your food and accommodation. It’s my base, understand?”

McDon and Laura exchanged glances and nodded in unison. They didn’t understand what Finn was talking about, but they understood when he said someone was going to take them away. However, there wasn’t anyone around. After giving his instructions, Finn allowed Zero to send them off. Even though sending McDon and Laura to his world might seem inappropriate, Finn couldn’t simply abandon the two kids who’ve been living with him for over a month.

Especially McDon, who arguably saved Finn’s life. Finn couldn’t just disregard them. He hadn’t seen any other humans during this period. Perhaps they’d already escaped the city, but whatever the case, Finn didn’t care much. Finn was only human, not a god. Even Zero was skeptical about dealing with the Insect Species, let alone Finn.

So, this was how it had to be. Finn didn’t know what the world would look like if it turned into a hatching ground for the Insect Species, but he guessed it wouldn’t be much different from the apocalypse. The infection bugs without wisdom had practically wiped out the entire world. What would happen once the intelligent bugs arrived?

A black circle of light flashed beside McDon and Laura, and the two were immediately swallowed up by it, leaving no trace behind. This was the first time Finn had witnessed Zero teleporting people; he couldn’t see it when he himself was the one being teleported.

However, when Zero was teleporting McDon and Laura, Finn could feel that black circle of light gave off an incredibly heart-rending feeling, as if there was some monster inside. Ironically, the light circles probably weren’t obvious, but the energy contained within was undoubtedly terrifying.

“It seems you have a plan,” Zero spontaneously asked after sending off McDon and Laura.

“Not really, I was just curious,” Finn shrugged, squinting as he spoke.
