Chapter 479: 473: Even Superstars Can Be Nervous

After all, this was Kay Lee’s first visit, which Sarah Wood could differentiate clearly.

Finn Lewis has a high profile everywhere else, but this time when he returned to Hello City, he was quite low-key. Perhaps because this is his hometown, he didn’t seem to act flamboyantly. Could this be a case of feeling timid near his hometown?

As for their residential area, Lewis the elder, who was driving, knew it well. Hello City was not very large. If there was no traffic, it would only take about thirty minutes to get from the airport to Finn’s house. Finn knew once he entered the residential area, he remembered that he didn’t notify his parents about his arrival. He wasn’t sure if they were home or not, but he didn’t bother to call and inquire, preferring to give them a surprise.

Three ordinary Flying Horse cars swiftly entered the neighborhood, quickly approaching the semi-detached villas in the second row in the front, where no one now lived, although Finn had bought them all. Yet, someone came regularly to clean them up, a service arranged by Olivia Thatcher. Even Fishy Wells didn’t have to lift a finger. Each family of their direct relatives got one semi-detached villa, and each child got one too. The rest of these villas were occupied by the T1000s and T800s.

This was naturally to provide protection for their parents and relatives. They all knew that Finn was rich, but they were ordinary people who didn’t aspire to extreme wealth. Now Jason Wells, who was previously considered a no-hoper, has become the only promising member of the family, apart from Finn. As for the other relatives, Finn had plans to give them some tasks during this visit.

The villas here finally have a purpose now. Although Sophie Lee knew that the houses here were all bought by Finn, she didn’t tell anyone, so no one else knew.

When they returned to their home, Finn parked the car on the road in front of the villa. The area seemed sparsely populated given the few residents living here. However, as soon as Finn and Kay got out of the car, they saw his mom accompanied by a child approaching from a short distance.

Fay Wells had just picked Chloe up from school, and before they could reach their doorstep, Fay, leading Chloe by the hand, voiced her surprise, through joy-filled exclamations: “It’s my brother! It’s my brother!”

Fay was stunned for a moment. When she looked up, she saw that little Zoe had already broken free from her hand and was sprinting towards her brother. Only then did Fay notice her son standing not far away, smiling gleefully at them.

“You naughty boy!” exclaimed Fay, hurrying towards her son.

“Brother!” Zoe called out cheerfully before flinging herself into Finn’s arms. Finn’s strength allowed him to easily catch her and prevent himself from toppling over. He held her close and asked with a smile, “Zoe, have you missed your brother?”

“Yes, Zoe missed you so much.” Zoe mumbled in response, then wrapped her arms around Finn’s neck and buried her face into his shoulder. Feeling that she seemed upset, Finn extended his hand and gently patted her, saying, “It’s okay, Zoe, be a good girl. Your brother’s been busy, and now I’m finally back to see Zoe.”

Actually, Finn also felt that he had been away for quite a while. For Zoe and the others, they likely thought Finn had only been gone for a few months, but in reality, he had been absent for much longer.

“Hmm, Zoe knows brother is busy. Zoe is already going to school now.” Zoe proudly announced.

Finn chuckled, nodding in approval. He took his hand and gently pinched her little nose before setting Zoe down since Fay was approaching. “You naughty boy, at least let us know when you’re coming home, and you’re bringing someone home too, aren’t you going to introduce her?” Fay chided with a smile.

“Hello Auntie, my name is Kay Lee.” Kay Lee stepped forward nervously and hastily introduced herself. In fact, Fay had already recognized her. Although Kay Lee had been kept out of the public eye for a while, it wasn’t for long. Furthermore, several incidents had brought her into the spotlight which meant Kay Lee was often in the news. On top of that, many TV stations were still showing films and TV dramas that Kay had previously worked on.

Even if Fay Wells hadn’t recognized her, she knew who Kay Lee was since her son had publicly declared his affection for this girl in front of so many reporters. As for her looks, Kay Lee was a celebrity, and Fay Wells had naturally seen her numerous times on TV.

“Very well, come, let me have a good look at you.” Hearing Kay Lee’s words, Fay Wells was immediately overjoyed. The big celebrity on TV was her son’s girlfriend, potentially her future daughter-in-law. She wouldn’t help but feel pride at the thought of it. She reached out, holding Kay Lee’s hand and looked her up and down, before finally nodding in satisfaction and saying, “Excellent, excellent, you are even more beautiful than you appear on TV!”

Kay Lee’s ears turned red, and Finn Lewis quickly laughed and said, “Mom, you’ve seen enough. She’s your son’s girlfriend, and future daughter-in-law, you can see her every day.”

“Yes, yes, yes, come, come, let’s go inside,” Fay Wells hurriedly said, guiding Kay Lee towards the house.

Finn Lewis called out to Lewis the elder and Fishy Wells behind him, then followed them inside. When he got inside and looked around, he realized his father was not there. There were a middle-aged woman in her forties, and a young girl about sixteen or seventeen, whom Finn Lewis didn’t recognize. The young girl was doing her homework at the dining table when they entered.

“Who are they?” Finn Lewis asked, looking at the two with curiosity.

“Oh, come, come, dear, Gabriella, come here.” Fay Wells immediately called out, and the middle-aged woman and the girl glanced at each other and nervously approached.

“I should introduce you. This is the housekeeper we hired, Lilian Wood, and her daughter Gabriella Jones. You asked someone to hire us some workers, didn’t you? After further consideration, I figured hiring them was just as well. They are poor and depend on each other, so I asked them to live with us. They are both diligent.” Fay Wells explained.

Lilian Wood and Gabriella Jones clearly had recognized the young man standing before them. They work for this family, so naturally, they know who really holds sway. It’s their son who is wealthy, not them. Now that Finn Lewis was back, the two realized this was the man who would ultimately decide their fate, so they were very nervous.

Finn Lewis frowned slightly, the atmosphere in the room becoming tense. It wasn’t that he had any ill will, but these two women were of unclear origins, he didn’t know if they were really people in difficult living conditions.

“Young Master, these ladies are fine, I have already investigated them.” Olivia Thatcher timely whispered into Finn Lewis’s ear. Finn Lewis then came back to his senses, realizing that with Olivia here, anything concerning would have been brought to his attention.

Thinking of this, Finn Lewis smiled and said, “Hello, thank you for taking care of my parents these past few days.”

“No… no need to thank us.” Lilian Wood stammered.

“That’s ok, there’s no need to be nervous, just behave as you always do. Let’s see… I’ll call you Auntie Lilian, Auntie Lilian, you can go about your business. And Gabriella, right? I will call you Gabriella, you can go and focus on your homework.” Finn Lewis said with a smile.

Although the young girl was a bit uneasy, she was also curious, stealing several glances at Finn Lewis. Listening to what Finn Lewis had just said, both Lilian Wood and the young girl breathed a sigh of relief. Lilian Wood quickly said, “Gabriella, go to your room and continue your homework. I..I will go and make some tea.”
