Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 119 - 119 The World’s Most Handsome Man

Chapter 119: Chapter 119 The World’s Most Handsome Man

Lin Shen hastily stashed away the mutated Black Armored Centipede and shrank back a little herself, hiding in the waterway and quietly surveying the situation below.

Before long, Lin Shen saw a mosaic figure burst out from the deepest part of the cave.

“Huh, that must be Bai Shenfei, right? What is she doing here?” Lin Shen could only make out that it was a woman’s mosaic figure, unable to see clearly what she actually looked like.

Other than Bai Shenfei, he hadn’t seen a second person covered in mosaics.

As he was wondering about this, he saw several figures emerge one after another from the depth of the cave.

Upon closer inspection, Lin Shen was shocked; the figures all had Crystal Gold bodies, each with three sets of arms and three faces that looked like those of Evil Ghosts. Each of their six hands held different Crystal Gold Weapons such as knives, swords, circles, seals, shields, and rings.

Just by their speed alone, they were not inferior to the mutated Black Armored Centipede and were very likely Mutated Crystal-based Creatures.

In just a short time, more than a dozen monsters with three heads and six arms came rushing out, fiercely pursuing Bai Shenfei without relenting.

For a moment, Bai Shenfei didn’t notice the waterway above and thought she had reached a dead end, so she was forced to stop and was surrounded by the three-headed and six-armed monsters. A brutal fight immediately unfolded.

Previously, when Bai Shenfei and the Giant King had fought, Lin Shen still thought that Bai Shenfei was nothing special, and with more training, even without using those cheat-like Fire Seed abilities, he could give her a run for her money.

But now, seeing Bai Shenfei facing more than ten by herself, those three-headed and six-armed monsters, for a time, couldn’t do anything to her, which made him a bit surprised.

“‘Talent Theory’ really is extraordinarily strong!” Lin Shen watched the battle from his hiding place, not daring to show his head, for fear the monsters might discover him.

Just as he was contemplating whether to quietly escape through the waterway, he heard screams from below. One of the three-headed and six-armed monsters was instantly slapped three times by Bai Shenfei, who shattered all three of its heads.

All of a sudden, Bai Shenfei seemed to be injected with adrenaline. Not only did her speed become extremely fast, but she also moved unpredictably like a phantom.

The monsters, which were just evenly matched with her, now seemed like lambs to the slaughter, and Bai Shenfei killed several of them in a moment.

Lin Shen knew Bai Shenfei must have used some special ability; otherwise, her combat power wouldn’t have increased to such a terrifying degree.

It was just a shame she was covered in mosaics, so Lin Shen couldn’t make out any changes to her.

The life force of the three-headed and six-armed monsters was extremely strong. They wouldn’t die after having their arms slashed or bodies pierced, and they could also regenerate severed limbs and heal their wounds.

The only way to kill them was to continuously shatter three heads in a short period, which would truly end their lives.

Bai Shenfei was like a Goddess Consort of war, and in a short time, she had killed nine of the monsters.

However, her own condition didn’t seem too good, as Lin Shen noticed that her speed and Strength were clearly starting to diminish.

The monsters, having lost so many companions, still rushed up fearlessly. Bai Shenfei, now desperate, killed three more in quick succession.

Her situation was growing more and more dire, and the few remaining monsters kept charging at her, seemingly completely unaware of fear.

Bai Shenfei vomited a mouthful of fresh blood, and in the next second, her speed and Strength burst forth again. Her high-speed movement created multiple afterimages.

Almost simultaneously, the remaining monsters’ heads were all blown apart by her.

The corpses of the monsters lay scattered, and Bai Shenfei, standing in the water, spat out several more mouthfuls of blood before finally collapsing and sitting down in the water.

“Pass out… just pass out…” Lin Shen secretly prayed in his heart. If Bai Shenfei passed out here, wouldn’t he have the chance to sleep beside her?

Unfortunately, fate did not comply with his wishes. Bai Shenfei didn’t faint but instead staggered to her feet and, sloshing through the water, made her unsteady way toward the stone platform.

“Did she come for the stone platform? Did she stumble in here by accident, or did she know about this place all along?” Lin Shen pondered quietly to himself.

The situation of Bai Shenfei looked quite bad, barely managing to climb onto the stone platform over three meters high. She struggled to jump onto it and almost didn’t keep her balance, nearly falling off.

Lin Shen watched Bai Shenfei walk to the front of the chest and take out a Gold Crystal Key, inserting it into one of the chests.

That chest had been opened by Lin Shen before. Bai Shenfei tried it out, but the key wouldn’t go in, so she tried another.

Her luck wasn’t very good. By the time she reached the third chest, the key finally went in.

Lin Shen craned his neck, wanting to see if the chest he hadn’t opened also contained an egg and a crystal panel.

When Lin Shen got a clear view, however, he was surprised to find that the chest had neither an egg nor a crystal panel inside; it seemed to contain a piece of paper.

Bai Shenfei seemed just as surprised, freezing in front of the chest for a while before reaching in to take out the paper.

The distance was too great, and Lin Shen couldn’t see what was written on the piece of paper. After Bai Shenfei stared at it for a while, she stood there in a daze.

Just as Lin Shen was curious about what could possibly be written on the paper that had stunned Bai Shenfei to such a degree, he suddenly saw her spew out a large mouthful of blood mist, and she collapsed onto the stone platform.

“What’s going on here?” Lin Shen saw Bai Shenfei lying motionless on the stone platform and was somewhat afraid she had died on the spot.

He couldn’t be sure if there would be mosaic covering the body of a dead person.

Even if there was, Lin Shen didn’t want to spend the night with a corpse.

With a thought, Lin Shen leaped out, using the techniques of Stairway to Heaven to reach the stone platform.

Bai Shenfei was utterly unresponsive, and it was unclear whether she was dead or had just fainted.

Lin Shen hurriedly checked her breath and pulse. Fortunately, both were still there; she wasn’t dead, only unconscious.

However, her condition didn’t look good; her breath and pulse were both very weak.

“What on earth was written that got her so upset?” Lin Shen picked up the fallen paper.

Glancing at the words on the paper, Lin Shen nearly laughed out loud.

Scribbled crookedly on the paper was a line of text, Lin Shen’s handwriting was already quite ugly, but this person’s was even worse, yet the content was written with great confidence.

“The world’s most handsome man was here.” Lin Shen muttered to himself, “No wonder Bai Shenfei was angered into vomiting blood. After a narrow escape with death just to reach this place, she opened the chest full of hope, only to look at something like this. It’s no wonder she nearly died of fury.”

Lin Shen felt relieved that his two keys didn’t correspond to this chest; otherwise, he would have been infuriated as well.

He put the note back into the chest and locked it again.

“Who asked you to be so unlucky.” Lin Shen looked at the still unconscious Bai Shenfei and then at his watch, noting there were still more than twenty hours left.

“There should be enough time.” Lin Shen thought for a moment, picked up Bai Shenfei, and then used the Stairway to Heaven to return to the waterway.

There’s no doubt Bai Shenfei didn’t come in from the waterway side. There was another entrance, which would certainly be very dangerous. Lin Shen had no intention of going that way.

Placing Bai Shenfei on the back of the Big Red Bull, Lin Shen also mounted it, instructing the bull to return the way they came, back to the opening of the waterway, hesitating to go out.

Every so often in the waterway, there were platforms. Lin Shen placed Bai Shenfei on one of the platforms and then released the Mutated Black Armored Centipede and the other pets to keep watch.

He took out a healing potion, forcibly pried open Bai Shenfei’s mouth, and poured it down.

“Bai Shenfei, oh Bai Shenfei, I’ve saved your life, so surely sharing a sleep isn’t too much to ask?” Lin Shen lied down beside Bai Shenfei.
