Chapter 104: Vagabonds Prohibited

In recent days, Jinshui Lake has been especially bustling, as members from many major families have been arriving here in succession, starting to research the Realm King Cultivation Device.

Unfortunately, up to now, no one knows how to activate the Realm King Cultivation Device. Those who forcibly tried to touch it, no matter their level, were directly turned to flying ash by the halo of the device.

Some members of the major families who have a better understanding of teleporters have already realized that this is not an ordinary teleporter.

According to some more authoritative experts, the Realm King Cultivation Device likely possesses an automatic program and will activate on its own at set intervals.

Various forces are secretly exerting their influence, wanting to get a piece of the action.

Even families that have already established a foothold on the alien world are unwilling to give up the resources of Realm King Planet.

The planet, temporarily called Realm King Planet, abounds with Base Mutation resources, which are undoubtedly top-tier for Mutators.

Forces from all sides continue to send more people, occupying different areas around Jinshui Lake, and the major powers have a tacit agreement not to interfere with each other.

Powerhouses from more than a dozen Super-Bases, such as God’s Love Base, Wanderer Base, and Sea Corn Base, have almost monopolized the entire area surrounding Jinshui Lake.

Let alone a small base like Yashen Base, even some large bases that have Ascenders find it difficult to get involved.

Initially, Wanderer Base only had one Ascender in place, but later found that a single Ascender was not enough to hold down the fort. Hence, four more Ascenders came over. Excluding Zheng Guyuan, who had gone missing, there were already five Ascenders stationed at Jinshui Lake, with Mutators numbering in the hundreds.

Other families are more or less the same, with four to five Ascenders stationed before they can dare claim they are from a major family.

The nights at Jinshui Lake are particularly quiet; on nights without the stars, only a waning moon dimly illuminates the darkness.

“Where is the Zheng Family from Wanderer Base?” a voice shattered the tranquility of the night sky.

The Ascenders from the major families stationed at the shores of Jinshui Lake were quite surprised; in the middle of the night, who was causing such a commotion outside?

“Who have the Zhengs offended now?” Ouyang Juemiao, who was talking with Ouyang Yudu, frowned slightly upon hearing the voice.

Ouyang Yudu responded with a smile, “The growth momentum of Wanderer Base in the past dozen years has been very strong. Many small families and solitary Ascenders have joined them. In terms of the number of Ascenders from the mother planet, they have already surpassed the Ouyang Family.”

Ouyang Juemiao dismissively said, “The base established by the Zhengs was named Wanderer Base from the start, intending to gather strong individuals from all walks of life, aiming to embrace all streams. The idea is good, but in reality, most of the lone wolves they take in have questionable character; otherwise, they wouldn’t have ended up at Wanderer Base. Wanderer Base should have been renamed long ago; Bandit Base would be more fitting.”

“Even so, the current strength of the Zhengs cannot be underestimated. I wonder who has the audacity to challenge the Zhengs here,” Ouyang Yudu stood up and said, “Niece, let’s go have a look.”

“That would be good,” Ouyang Juemiao slightly nodded, and the two left the temporary wooden hut and saw that many people were already standing outside, all coming to see the excitement.

In fact, not just here, most of the people from the major families stationed at Jinshui Lake ran out to see the commotion.

“It’s an Ascender I don’t recognize,” Ouyang Yudu said with some surprise upon seeing the person hovering above Jinshui Lake.

“That Ascender looks handsome, not inferior to you at all,” Ouyang Juemiao observed with some surprise, albeit on a completely different point.

Ouyang Yudu replied with a smile and a hint of resignation, “Niece, my appearance is just average, there are many who are not inferior to me.”

Ouyang Juemiao glanced up and down at Ouyang Yudu with a pout, “Are you being modest, or is this Versailles talk? If you call that average, then there aren’t many good-looking men in this world.”

Ouyang Yudu did not want to dwell on this issue and curiously said while looking at the white-clad, beautiful man in the sky, “I don’t know what deep hatred he has with the Zhengs, to come here alone to seek trouble with the Zhengs. Does he not know that there are already five Ascenders from the Zheng Family guarding this place? Coming alone, he is likely to suffer.”

“In recent years, there have been many who have suffered at the hands of the Zhengs, one more won’t make a difference,” Ouyang Juemiao remarked with a smirk.

“I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed; that person has never been one to suffer losses,” a chubby man approached them.

He was fat, but proportionally so, and although he clearly looked overweight, he didn’t seem burdensome.

“Xun Jian, you know him?” Ouyang Juemiao was somewhat surprised. She had thought he was just an unknown solitary Ascender, not expecting that Xun Jian from Sea Corn Base would actually know him.

“I do, he’s somewhat of a junior disciple from the same mentor,” Xun Jian said, “We both were trained under Instructor Mu; he’s a few classes younger than me.”

“So he is a disciple of Instructor Mu, his abilities must be quite strong, right?” Ouyang Yudu asked with some curiosity.

“I do not know,” Xun Jian’s answer was somewhat unexpected.

“What do you mean by ‘do not know’?” Ouyang Juemiao and Xun Jian were quite familiar with each other, and he did not mince his words.

“He trained under Instructor Mu for ten years, challenging almost every disciple there at least once, yet he has never won, earning the nickname ‘King of Hundred Defeats’,” Xun Jian said with a laugh.

“Never won, then how can you say he has never suffered a loss?” Ouyang Yudu became even more baffled.

“Though he has never won a match, no one has ever faced him a second time. It’s not that he doesn’t dare, but rather that those who have beaten him do not dare,” Xun Jian’s statement piqued the interest of both Ouyang Yudu and Ouyang Juemiao.

“A man who has never won, yet those who have defeated him fear him, this person must be very formidable.” Ouyang Yudu couldn’t help but ask, “What’s his name?”

“Lin Xiangdong.”

As they spoke, five Ascenders from Wanderer Base came forth, confronting Lin Xiangdong in the air.

“Who are you? What business do you have with the Zheng Family?” the leading Ascender Zheng Jianhui sized up Lin Xiangdong and, as a fellow man, couldn’t help but inwardly praise his handsome appearance.

“Is Zheng Guyuan one of your Ascenders from Wanderer Base?” Lin Xiangdong asked.

The five exchanged glances upon hearing this, and Zheng Jianhui answered, “Indeed, he is one of our Ascenders. Why do you ask?”

“He wanted to kill my brother,” Lin Xiangdong stated.

Zheng Jianhui frowned upon hearing this, a wave of irritation toward Zheng Guyuan stirring within him: “When you kill someone, at least investigate who they are. To kill a relative of an Ascender, even if he is just a lone wanderer without a background, is still a troublesome matter.”

“Zheng Guyuan is not here,” said Zheng Jianhui.

“I know, he is already dead,” Lin Xiangdong’s words startled them all.

“You killed him?” The hearts of Zheng Jianhui and the others chilled.

Although Zheng Guyuan was not considered very strong among the Ascenders, he was a battle-hardened fighter; any Ascender who could kill him must possess some skill.

Lin Xiangdong just smiled, silently looking at Zheng Jianhui.

“Is your brother dead?” Zheng Jianhui asked with a frown.

“No,” Lin Xiangdong answered.

“Zheng Guyuan wanted to kill your brother. He is dead and your brother is not, so why do you come here? Just to inform us?” Zheng Jianhui was already annoyed. He could see that this man had come to pick a fight.

“No, I have come to inform you of another matter.”

“What is it?”

“Within a hundred miles of Jinshui Lake… Wanderers… No trespassing… All of you, get the hell out…”

Upon hearing Lin Xiangdong’s declaration, Zheng Jianhui and the other four Ascenders were enraged. The onlooking members of the various major families also felt that this man’s audacity was outrageous.

Before Zheng Jianhui could even respond, a gust of wind suddenly rose over the lake, and a cloud of snow-white petals began to drift leisurely towards Zheng Jianhui and the others as if they were snowflakes.

“Splendor withers, snow returns to man; this night, this scene, truly beautiful,” Ouyang Yudu gazed up at the night sky, her beautiful eyes reflecting the sky full of petals, like a galaxy flowing across, like snow cleansing the heavens, violently submerging everything in a white deluge, with only one figure standing steadfast amid the snow, his hair and white garments wildly tossing about in the wind-blown blossoms.

That night, the blossoms over Jinshui Lake completely fell.
