Chapter 379 Jackal vs Squirrel
A moment ago.
The squirrel girl was blown away by the mummy.
She looked at them. Although each mummy didn't seem to be using anything special, their number simply made it hard for her. In addition, Anubis seemed to be lowering her strength with that scale.
If this continued, she would have been in trouble.
Hence, she had to find a way to break that scale first.
After taking another look, she charged ahead, using her fastest speed.
The five guardians immediately stepped in. Their task was to repel them away.
However, the squirrel girl had another idea.
When the archer and the magician were about to unleash their respective attacks, she released her Ena.
The ground trembled for a split second before a pillar emerged underneath the archer and the magician, shooting them up.
The two mummies were surprised. With them off balance, it would be hard to target their opponent.
As such, the assassin looped around, trying to strike her. As if she was able to sense him, a wall rose between them, stopping the assassin for a split second. The latter managed to loop around, but the squirrel had been expecting him and kicked him in the stomach, launching him away.
The warrior approached her, but the squirrel tried to distract him by summoning a spike that directly headed to Anubis' head.
Anubis didn't even flinch. The mummy knight jumped into the air, blocking the spike with his shield.
After that, the swordsman closed in. He swung his curved blades while the squirrel girl used her nails.
A series of clicking sounds echoed from their clashes before the squirrel managed to summon another spike, forcing the swordsman to get away.
Still, she was enduring some pain. Despite it being a brief clash, the swordsman managed to leave several shallow wounds.
And all of a sudden, the assassin, who was supposed to be blown away, appeared behind her. She managed to react at the last moment, but the assassin still managed to reach her back, leaving a shallow x-shaped wound.
"Kh!" The squirrel girl stomped the ground, supporting her body. After that, she waved her hand back, summoning the spike.
It actually pierced through the assassin's stomach. The assassin was still writhing, even though it was supposed to be enough to kill it. Read new chapters at empire
The only reason the swordsman avoided the attack earlier was not because it was afraid of death. He just didn't want to have a hard time coming off from that spike like the assassin.
Fortunately, the squirrel girl didn't realize it yet and recalled it once the assassin stopped moving.
The moment the spike was gone, the wound was covered with bandages. The mummy recovered almost instantly, shocking everyone.
'What? It's not enough? This is simply too much. Are they immortal or something? They should die if I kill the one who summons them, but can I?' The squirrel girl noticed that the archer and the magician had landed on the ground.
The archer unleashed his arrow one more time, forcing the squirrel girl to create a wall to block the attack.
The magician tapped the ground with his wand, forming a black hole underneath her.
"!!!" The squirrel girl noticed it almost immediately and jumped into the air to avoid the tentacles that came out of it.
The swordsman and the assassin were already close before the squirrel girl landed on the ground. The knight remained on Anubis' side.
The squirrel girl placed her hands on the ground as soon as she landed. Numerous spikes appeared in all directions.
The assassin tried to avoid it, but there were too many spikes, so he ended up being skewered by multiple spikes.
The swordsman cut several spikes, but he, too, was unable to escape.
'I got them. If I let them go, they will end up regenerating. I don't know how to defeat them for the time being, so I will just trap them.' The squirrel girl chose not to recall her spikes since they were enough to stop these two mummies for the time being.
She then continued to her next targets, which were the magician and the archer.
Both of them had prepared for their attacks, but she had figured out what she should do in order to defeat them.
To her surprise, Anubis' voice echoed once more. "It's time. Judgment."
The tip once again tilted to the left.
"!!!" The squirrel girl felt a heavy burden placed upon her. She halted her step for a split second.
That was when the archer released his arrow.
Due to the sudden decrease in her physical ability, she summoned a wall to block the arrow, but the magician pointed his wand forward. A tornado made of black liquid flew toward the arrow and helped it to destroy the rock wall.
"Kh!" The squirrel girl gritted her teeth as the tornado pushed her back. Her arms felt like they were being shredded by the tornado, but she still managed to stop it.
Anubis hadn't done anything other than maintaining the domain and these five mummies. After all, he needed to use a portion of his Ena to heal Nathan and maintain his Synchronization. That was why Nathan actually gave him the easiest opponent.
The squirrel girl only took a single deep breath to regain her calm. But before she could move, a knife suddenly hit the back of her shoulder.
"!!!" The squirrel girl widened her eyes in shock and turned around, finding the assassin tossing the second dagger. She immediately kicked the second dagger back to the assassin's head, but it was not enough to kill it.
The swordsman, on the other hand, did his best to come out of this trap so that he could rejoin the fight.
Still, the assassin had bought enough time for the archer and the magician to release another attack.
She turned around and struck the arrow with her claws this time so that she could reserve her ability for the magician.
But the Ena within the arrow exploded, knocking her back. When she was off balance, the magician summoned his tentacles and bound her.
No one was as frustrated as the squirrel girl. At this rate, she might be the first one to lose the battle.
