Chapter 67: … I love you
Chapter 67: … I love you
Arata was sleepless.
It’s not unusual for him to feel so restive nowadays ever since he received those memories of some strange boy he has never met before.
Those flashes were indeed unexpected but not unwelcome since Arata got to know those things which he could never have been able to learn through simple means.
First, he was able to save his childhood friend from being ra*ed by that bastard. Well, she did say that Seth didn’t touch her but what if his mind has switched that night?
Arata could never have forgiven himself.
Then he foresaw the memories of a distant future where he would be venturing high-rank temples with some of those with whom Arata was quite familiar with.
There were several women around him but he was able to see the faces of only three. Despite abrupt Arata was able to accept such a future where he would be protecting such beauties and receive their love in return.
But things began to go in the way Arata never wanted them to.
He saw the future but never anticipated the path of how he would accomplish that goal which was why he started to make effort on his own initiative.
But he faced consecutive failures.
Anabelle bluntly rejected his advances even though he was trying to warn her to stay away from that creepy President. He wanted to tell her how that bastard convinced Serena into his bed. But thinking how it would be inappropriate from Serena’s point of view, he denied such a method.
Well, since he seldom has come across Anabelle he knew it would take time to coax her away from Seth but what made Arata troubled was Laila.
The sweet and caring Senpai he met during his orientation was also one of those whom he saw in his dreams. The clumsy yet adorable Senpai whom Arata thought of someone as his elder sister.
During the starting six months of the first year she was growing close to him like Serena was and unlike Serena, Arata was sure that Laila would become dependent on him, in no time.
But that changed as well some day before that inspirational spar took place. It seemed her broken engagement was the trigger that made her so distant from him.
Again, it was because of that stupid bespectacled bastard!
But Laila was not someone with whom he had made a close connection until now.
The real betrayal he faced was against the person whom Arata regarded as the closest person in his life.
“Why did you lie to me, Serena…?”
With a tight frown wrinkled on his forehead, Arata recalled the day when he went to check on Serena’s health after she returned to her hometown.
He had the dream that the vault would give him some reward. What would be that reward or what its use was unclear but Arata knew it was crucial for him.
But Serena said nothing about any reward. Arata knew she was lying since without surpassing the trial of the Vault they couldn’t have walked out. And that trial surely would have given something in return.
But…
“I don’t know why you changed Serena but I swear on my name. I will not let you get swayed by that runt. You belong to me and no one else….”

Just like Arata, hundreds of miles away Seth was also failing to sleep even though he was incredibly tired.
Reason…
“Don’t cling to me.”
Despite his grumble, Anabelle didn’t budge from her spot as she lay down with her head on his arm and arm encircled his chest as she nuzzled closely without minding the protest.
She was disappointed that Seth bluntly rejected her request to have s*x with her, but this was not half-bad as compensation at all. Cuddling like this with the man she adores was nothing less than dreams coming to reality for her.
“You know that you don’t have to be so stiff right, Prez? I am confident that it will feel good to hug me back~”
Seth narrowed his gaze as he side glanced at the girl who seemed strangely so comfortable with him even though she shouldn’t be.
Leaving the plot aside, there was no past of Seth and Anabelle which could justify her behavior and such shameless advances.
“Why are you doing this? What is your hidden motive?”
Seth was no longer able to hold his curiosity as he asked in a hushed tone. He didn’t want to disrupt the peacefulness of the room.
Anabelle didn’t break eye contact. She loved his green eyes but the words she has thought to speak were trimmed down unintentionally because of how charming he was.
“….because I love you.”
Seth was surprised but not to the point he would react to it. He could tell from her actions that this girl likes him but he couldn’t discern the reason behind it.
He was sure from the memories of the previous owner that Anabelle and Seth had never met in the past. Not even once before Anabelle joined the Pristine Academy.
No cliché incident in the past like saving the damsel in distress nor any chance encounter either which could explain the reason why Anabelle holds such feelings for him.
Then…
“…why?”
Hearing his whisper which meant only one thing, Anabelle stiffened at her place as her arm tightened around him. But soon she collected her composure and answered with a serene smile.
“I can’t tell you now but trust me. This is not some fleeting emotion which I harbor for Prez, rather something deep which you could never deny once I tell you….”
As those words left her lips, Anabelle’s eyes grew heavy before she drifted away into dreamlands.
Seth on the other side stared at her profile for a long…long time. He thought about whether he should pry into her mind or not…but soon he rejected such a thought. He was tired as well.
‘Well, screw it…’
Pushing away the useless contemplations, Seth turned to face Anabelle as he collected the girl in his arms and hugged her comfortably. While enjoying the warmth and suppleness, he also soon fell asleep.
