Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Purple Demon Tree Fruit
"Captain, do you think the clan leader replaced Regret's spirit beast?" Ken still couldn't believe it.
"You fool!" Adam chuckled and scolded, "Do you think a newly awakened spirit master can withstand the spiritual power resonance of a high level novice class spirit beast? It's a miracle the spirit portal didn't burst!"
"But this is still unbelievable," Kena grumbled in frustration.
"Anyway, today's matter is not to be mentioned again. Get to work quickly and watch out for spirit beasts running out from the back mountain."
"Yes!"
As night fell, within the depths of the mountains, the roars of several spirit beasts faded away. The edge of the back mountain regained its calm once more.
Carrying a large sack that seemed completely mismatched with his own stature, Regret strolled leisurely down the street. Various curious gazes were irresistibly drawn towards him, but thankfully the spirit master in this area were aware of his identity as the young master of the Blaze family. Despite their curiosity, no one dared to approach him.
"Did you hear? The young master of the Blaze family awakened his spirit power yesterday."
"We've known for a while now. The news has been spreading like wildfire in veloria City. Turns out the spirit beasts awakened by the young master is a waste spirit beast. What a pity, wasting so many resources of the Blaze family."
"Be careful! You might get into trouble if the people from the Blaze family hear you!"
The person who spoke earlier felt the surrounding stares, and his scalp tingled. After nervously glancing at Regret from the corner of his eye and realizing that Regret hadn't turned around, he let out a sigh of relief. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead with trembling hands.
The onlookers unconsciously moved a bit further away, fearing to get involved in the situation.
With a profound spiritual power stronger than that of ordinary spirit master, Regret naturally heard these words clearly. However, his calm eyes, as dark as the night, remained unperturbed by the opinions of others, except for those of his own kin.
Just as his right foot was about to step through the gate, Regret's eyes slightly narrowed. In front of him, a plain looking elderly man in a white robe was evaluating him up and down with a sly gaze. When his gaze fell on the Red on Regret's shoulder, a hint of disdain flashed in his eyes.
"Poor Ash, his son turned out to be such a useless thing. Tragic and laughable."
Shaking his head and sneering, the old man flicked his sleeves, turned around, took a few steps and walked away, disappearing from Regret's sight in a few moments.
Red rubbed his sleepy eyes, turned over and went back to sleep. The fire red tail wrapped around Regret's neck, and the faint white fur was perfectly concealed.
"Second Elder, who was that person?" A man next to him walked over, it was Peter who presided over the spiritual awakening yesterday. Regret respectfully bowed and then asked.
"Oh, that old guy." Peter shrugged, sounding a bit impatient. "Just a lackey from central city that stay at the Blaze family this morning, this old guy followed closely behind. I told Ash to drive him away, but for some reason, Ash decided to let him stay."
Upon hearing this, Regret's mouth twitched. If anyone in the Blaze family lacked the demeanor of an elder, it was undoubtedly the Peter standing beside him, repeatedly calling the old man. It seemed like he was even older than the previous elder...
Moreover, within the entire Blaze family, this was the only person who dared to insult Ash. Even the Grand Elder didn't talk in such a disrespectful manner.
"By the way, that old guy seems to be called Sivan. If my guess is correct, he was sent by Kartis to monitor you, especially after you hinted at something yesterday. Although the chance of it being true is practically zero, it's better to be safe, isn't it?" Peter shrugged and said.
Listening to this blunt comment, Regret gave Peter a silent glare. This Second Elder was good in many ways, except for being a bit inconsiderate of others' feelings.
"By the way, what happened to your clothes? They are quite damaged. Were you bullied by someone?" Peter's voice abruptly rose several levels, a hint of killing intent swirling in his eyes.
"It's nothing, I just went out for a while." Regret smiled and shrugged his shoulders, not planning to reveal too much to the Second Elder because he wasn't sure if Sivan could hear them.
"Hmph, in the entire Veloria City, the only one daring to bully me, the young master of the Blaze family, is that brat from the Snow family. Take this, if he dares to pick on you, use this to teach him a lesson!" After looking around discreetly, Peter quietly tucked an item into Regret's clothes, then nonchalantly left the place with a few members of the Blaze family.
Feeling curious, Regret took advantage of others' inattention, opened his clothes, and took a peek. His eyes instantly brightened it was a green fruit with slightly deep patterns crisscrossing its surface, emitting a faint spiritual power fluctuation.
"The Purple Demon Tree Fruit?" Regret marveled to himself.
The Purple Demon Tree Fruit grows on the Lord level spiritual beast, the Purple Demon Tree. Each tree can grow a maximum of three fruits, and when faced with danger, the tree will throw these fruits to explode, severely injuring enemies. Even Spiritual Monarch level spiritual beasts would be blown to pieces, let alone novice level beasts.
This fruit is extremely rare; not even the Angsana Pavilion could find more than a few, and it's unknown where Peter managed to get it from.
Licking his lips, Regret strode into the room and threw the thick bag onto the ground before falling asleep, with Red squirming its petite body, slipping into Regret's embrace comfortably for a sweet slumber.
For Regret, who had just become a Spiritual novice, a day of battle full of intensis, with spiritual exhaustion no less than directly fighting a spiritual beast.
