Chapter 22: Chapter 22 Fourth Stage
With a light curl of its tongue, the Flame Spirit Grass was swallowed, and immediately, the temperature of Red's body rose. A crimson light, resembling a hazy halo, formed around its body.
Subsequently, the spiritual power in the surroundings, as if attracted by something, rushed rapidly into its body.
"Wu!"
With a comfortable soft hum, a slight increase in fur on the body of Red was barely noticeable, yet Regret could easily discern it, having been together with Red day and night.
"Breakthrough." Regret looked at the slightly raised eyelids of Red with joy.
"Flame Spirit Grass is indeed a genuine spiritual medicine. Moreover, this little Flame Cat has been fighting all day. If it couldn't break through, that would be truly strange." The master Magi in the bag was completely unconcerned, not even materializing.
Regret just smiled at this. The master magi had a different perspective, but he was still just a spirit master novice. The stronger his contracted spirit beast became, the different his feelings in his heart.
"It's time to go back."
Gazing at the forest about to be engulfed in darkness, Regret locked eyes with Red. After the spiritual resonance between the two during their training, they seemed to have established a subtle connection, able to perceive each other's thoughts without deliberate expression.
After a simple dinner, Regret quickly returned to his room, tightly shutting all doors and windows. Once there was a secret, everything had to be done with extreme caution. Though he trusted the people in the Blaze family, there was always the 'what if.'
Especially with the existence of the master magi, he couldn't afford for anyone to discover. If news accidentally leaked out, the Blaze family alone wouldn't be able to handle it.
The Cat claws lightly patted Regret's face, while in the eyes of Red, an inexplicable brilliance flickered.
"Don't hit me, I understand."
Regret muttered helplessly, then took out the wooden basin. Now he finally realized the kind of moving consumable he had with him. Other spiritual masters' spirit beasts could only absorb one bottle of condensing spirit liquid per day at most, but for Red, it was a piece of cake.
"Let's try today's fresh goods."
The condensing spirit liquid on the table had long been treated as trash by the Master Magi and used for watering plants. Only six empty medicine bottles were left. Regret took out a gel like light ball from the bag, squeezed it open, and found that it could fill all six bottles.
"I didn't expect it to be so plentiful."
After a simple measurement, Regret opened another light ball with confidence, poured all the liquid into the wooden basin, to prevent using too much medicine at once and causing harm to Red's body.
"Don't worry, your little flame cat can endure a lot. It's unlikely to die in general situations." The Master Magi crossed his hands and smirked slightly.
Red growled softly and swiped a claw again.
"Stop messing around, both of you."
Regret separated them and gently placed the protesting Red in the wooden basin. Only then did the latter calm down. However, with its two claws still on the edge of the basin, its gaze was fixed firmly on the Master Magi. It was probably considering when to find an opportunity to swipe at him again.
The Azure Spirit liquid in the wooden basin was a dark green color.
Regret could see that strands of liquid kept surging towards the body of Red without stopping, and then flowing out again, but when it came out, the color had clearly lightened quite a bit.
Soaked in the Azure Spirit liquid, Red felt very comfortable, although its two claws still gripped the wooden basin. However, its eyes narrowed slightly, and faintly, there was even a slight snoring sound coming out.
"This little thing."
Master Magi shook his head and smiled, then buried himself back into his books. After a clangorous noise, the room once again returned to calm.
In the following days, aside from eating, Regret stayed in the room all the time, while Red never left the wooden basin. Even during meals, Regret had to feed it hand to mouth. Master Magi scolded them for being so attached, but Red couldn't be bothered anymore. Every time the former spoke up, it would just turn its butt away in a spoiled manner.
The stronger the spiritual power of a spirit beast, the richer the spiritual power contained within the spirit master. Regret sat cross legged on the bed, continuously adapting to this feeling. If he were to use the Flame Step now, he should be able to easily step out a hundred steps.
Having practiced for seven days straight, the sense of unreal power increase in Red had completely stabilized. If they were to encounter the Earth Split Scorpion again, it wouldn't be as troublesome as last time, and Regret might not even need to resonance their spiritual powers.
Opening the door, the dazzling sunlight shone down. Regret squinted slightly, then strode out with Red.
The reason he went out today was to sell off the remaining Azure Spirit liquid he had and buy a large quantity of medicinal herbs needed to refine the Azure Spirit liquid. As Master Magi had mentioned, he urgently needed a Void Realm Stone now, or else carrying around a bag all day might make others think he's crazy.
"Cousin, I was just looking for you."
Regret had not walked long before he saw Qistina's cheerful face full of happiness, running over from the side. The green vine behind her was still stumbling along, but the thorns on the vine had become much sharper. If anyone underestimated it because of its behavior, they would surely pay a painful price.
"Why, is there an event in the family?" Regret stopped in his tracks and asked with a smile.
"Did you forget? Today is the day for distributing Condensing Spirit Liquid in the family." Qistina gave Regret a white look. She had been looking forward to this important event for several days, but Regret had not paid it any mind.
