Chapter 8 Hospital Life (2)
Ethan felt a sting of pain on his arm, instead of getting angry, he let out a chuckle. "What? Are you jealous?"
Sasha rolled her eyes and said, "You were just asking for a beating with that type of gaze."
"Then most men present here would ask for a beating."
"..." She couldn't refute that.
Ethan added, "Oh! Lesbians and bisexuals too."
They continued on their way to the physical therapy room, a place he liked to go to most in his day to day life. Who doesn't like working out? And when he had Sasha and a cool, sexy doctor helping him with things.
Hearing his words, Sasha pursed her lips. Ethan shrugged, "Can't help it. I found her really attractive. And she also works out so brownie points from me."
"It's pretty surprising that you noticed that."
Ethan sheepishly grinned. "So can you tell me her name?"
Knowing that she was the only one who he could consult with this, a mischievous glint passed through Sasha's hazel eyes. "What will I get in return?"
Ethan thought about it and made a deal with her.
Satisfied with the result, she told him, "Her name is Claire Mildred."
Later he lay on the therapy table, trying to hide his smirk as Dr. Emily adjusted the resistance on the exercise machine. There was something about her that drew him in, a captivating beauty that could not be denied.
Her short orange hair framed her face in a fiery halo, her blue scrubs hugging her slim figure, and her gentle smile and kind eyes radiating warmth and compassion. A green "10" hovered above her head.
"Alright, Ethan, let's start with some leg exercises," she said, giving him a professional smile.
Ethan couldn't help but flirt a bit, "I'll do my best to impress you, Dr. Emily" he replied with a sly grin.
Dr. Emily rolled her eyes playfully, but he could see a hint of a smile on her lips. "I'm sure you will, Ethan. Let's focus on your recovery, shall we?"
As he worked through the sets, Ethan made small talk with Dr. Emily, making subtle comments and jokes.
"So, how long have you been a physical therapist?" he asked, sounding casual.
"Oh, about six years now," she replied, adjusting the machine for him. "I love helping people get back to their normal lives."
"I bet you have a lot of success stories," Ethan said, giving her a charming smile. "I can imagine you have a lot of patients falling for you."
Dr. Emily raised her eyebrow, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Ethan, let's focus on your recovery, shall we? I'm here to help you, not to entertain your flirting."
Ethan let out a chuckle and stopped, he knew he had to play it cool and respect her professionalism. And as she helped him off the table and gave him a pat on the back, he knew he had to take a chance.
"Dr. Emily," he said, turning to face her. "I know you're my therapist and this might be a little forward, but I was wondering if you'd like to grab dinner with me sometime? As friends of course."
Dr. Emily's eyes met his, a hint of surprise and amusement in them. "I would love to, Ethan," she said, her voice soft and full of understanding. "As friends."
[Emily Rathford's Interest: +1]
He smiled, "Great!"
From the corner of his eyes he saw Sasha looking at them and he unconsciously compared her with Emily. As if she guessed his thoughts, Sasha glared at him.
Then when he went back to his room, feeling pretty good, his mood got ruined when he saw his step sister waiting inside.
Mia Chase had short brown hair cascaded down her face in soft waves, highlighting her delicate features and innocent-looking brown eyes. Her body was toned and curvaceous, likely a result of her Scarlett genes, and her simple yet alluring clothing hugged her figure in all the right places. Despite her beauty, Ethan knew from his memories that she was a complete bitch.
Mia frowned when he entered, as if showing displeasure. Ethan patted Sasha's shoulder, signaling her to leave them alone. Sasha nodded and left.
He recalled how Sasha told him that she didn't like Mia making him laugh, deepening her frown.
He sat on the bed, making himself comfortable and asked with a smirk, "How come you are here? Did mom force you again?"
Mia smiled, clearly forced, and said, "They are not as annoying as you."
Ethan nodded and remarked, "Yeah a dude who was in a coma for three years is annoying. Anyways, why are you even here then?"
Mia grumbled. "Someone wants to meet you. I told him it's worthless but…."
When Ethan was about to inquire more, someone knocked the door and entered. Looking at his visitor, Ethan was surprised.
It was one of his bullies. Damian Wales.
