Chapter 46: Practising the Psionics
Training the Psionic Energy for the first time in his life was an interesting experience, and at the same time, it was also an especially pleasant one. When he was using the instructions written in the introductory chapters of the Nuclear Chaos Formula, he began to feel a certain sense of comfort that he didn't sense before.
Due to the specific nature of the Dimension Empyrean, the Psionic Energy within his body was acting extremely chaotically and sporadic. Now that he started the circulation method according to the Nuclear Chaos Formula, everything was becoming more controlled and orderly than ever before.
The moment he achieved the first stage of the circulation of the Nuclear Chaos Formula, Arcturus would essentially rank into the Epsilon-Grade Psyker or Psionicist. It was rather a lengthy process, especially considering the fact that he had a tremendous amount of Psionic Energy right upon his awakening as Psyker.
Obviously, everything was taking time and under the careful eye of the Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellir, who was observing his newest apprentice, who was right now doing his first season of the Psionic Energy cultivation.
Surprisingly enough, everything went rather smoothly as Arcturus quickly got the Psionic Energy under his control together with the Nuclear Chaos Formula. The method that was provided by the Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellir was highly compatible with the Arcturus and his situation.
Just half an hour later, he managed to get a certain degree of the circulation of his previous chaotic Psionic Energy into the core that had developed in his brain right after he awakened.
Soon enough, Arcturus felt that his reserves of Psionic Energy had increased by approximately one-third, but they were not chaotic or anything; on the contrary, it was perfectly controllable.
This was a sign that he had achieved the status of the Epsilon-Grade Psyker, which brought Arcturus certain calmness as he opened his eyelids, revealing his purple eyes that were shining with the overwhelming power of the Psionic Energy.
"It seems that you have succeeded... not bad for the first try. This could be considered as fast even among the geniuses of the Imperium and the Great Houses of the Eternal Imperium of Asurya. Rare seed...indeed."
Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellit stated as he observed his apprentice with a slight smile because Arcturus's talent was indeed top-notch, even compared to the other geniuses of the Imperium.
Even when he compared him to the descendants of the Great Houses, who were genetically engineered and carefully bred through bloodlines for several centuries. This was already a sign that Arcturus was already a rare seedling within the Imperium and could prove to be an especially valuable asset to the Imperium.
There were not many like him with such talent, especially the ones that awakened Super-High Risk Primal Psyker Ability like the Dimension Empyrean and had a predisposition to become powerhouses on the universal scale in the future.
Perhaps in the not-far future, if he had enough luck and resources on his side.

Several days later, Starfort Lycurgos, Dojo of the Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellir
After the first practice season of the Psionic Energy and achieving the Epsilon-Grade Psyker, he lived in the dojo and practiced swordsmanship with the Grandmaster Artist Byrmellir.
The elderly Highborne Asuryani was teaching him everything that he needed to know about combat and how to best utilize his enhanced senses and reflexes, together with the addition of the Neural Extranet Terminal Gene Implants that were already making him a superhuman on many different levels.
The first lesson that was being taught to him was how to dodge properly. Especially the projectiles and bullets.
"In the future, the more powerful you would become, the lesser effect you would have on the firearms and even the most advanced energy projectiles. After reaching a certain degree of the Physique, you would be able to shrug off even the most advanced energy weapons with ease, but right now, you need to know how to dodge them.
It's rather ironic that the more technologically advanced we become, the more we return to the old ways of combat."
Hearing the voice of the Grandmaster Artist Byrmellir, Arcturus couldn't help but agree as it was indeed rather a weird twist of the irony from fate.
Arcturus was right now in the combat scenario where he was armed only with sword and was dodging the bullets that were being fired on him from various side and of course, at fast speed.
The Grandmaster noticed that Arcuturus was having problems in this regard, but he knew that it stemmed mainly from the lack of the combat experience. Beucase he had Neural Extranet Terminal Gene Implants in his body, his senses were far superior to ordinary Epsilon-Grade Warrior.
Coupled with his race as Asuryani Highborne and Epsilon-Grade Psyker rank, his reflexes were comparable even to seasoned Gamma-Grade Warriors. This was something that allowed Arcturus to easily dodge the projectiles if he was correctly taught.
At the start of the training, he was hit a few times during the training, some of them hurt like hell, but with the advanced medicinal technology that was within the Eternal Imperium of Asurya, he was healed within mere moments.
Not to mention, his Neural Extranet Terminal Gene Implants and his innate healing factor healed most of the wounds, and he was put into the Bio-Chamber only when he was hit in his head or other vitals.
That fortunately happened only twice, and it was one of the worst experiences that he had till now.
"You gotta remember the pain so you would dodge in time next time."
Those were the words of the Grandmaster Arsit Byrmellir.
Not only due to the fear of the projectiles but because the combat at the later grades of the evolutionary ladder was taken solely in close quarters or in regard to some Psyker and Psionics with special abilities at the mid-range, dodging was an essential part of his teachings.
"After one hour, you will take a pause of twenty minutes before we proceed to the swordsmanship season and start with the basics of deflecting."
Skilled swordsmen could easily deflect all of the incoming projectiles to place from where they were shot, according to the Grandmaster Byrmellir. Unfortunately, there were no lessons regarding shooting or firearms training because the elderly Asuryani Highborne held a strong distaste for such weapons.
According to the old man, once you were out of ammunition, you were as good as dead.
Still, Asuryan wanted to try some of the advanced energy-based weapons at least, because in his past life such things were only heavy fiction, though when he tried firing the laser rifles, he was rather disappointed because they were not really something special.
Just firing projection of superheated energy or plasma...
Though he was more interested in some kinds of handguns, like the Gravitational Beam Emitter.
Despite being no bigger than a regular pistol, the Gravitational Beam Emitter fires beams of energy that travel hundreds of kilometers in a straight line, disintegrating everything in its path.
Unfortunately, the price of such a weapon was staggeringly high, and its cost was in a few million Universal Credits. It was considered one of the most advanced handguns in the entire known universe, capable of obliterating even the spaceships of most civilizations due to its destructive prowess.
Similar weapons to it existed and were often carried only by high-ranking people, most powerful factions, and civilizations in the known universe, as their last resort.
