Chapter 39: “Worse Than Expected”
Chapter 39: “Worse Than Expected”
Charlotte frowned. She was more impressed by Sean, who was the first student she got on the first day of enrollment.
“What are you planning? I have to remind you that it won’t do much to call the professors.”
Sean nodded, “Of course, I know. I mean, I need someone else’s help.”
“Someone else?”
Sean turned to Fred and George, “Aren’t you Quidditch players? Can you get your broomstick?”
The twins looked at each other and said uncertainly, “I have never tried to use the Flying Charm. Our broom is not too far from the hall, but we are not sure.”
“Try it. It’s better than not trying,” Sean spread his hands, “Miss Hawke, you can try it if you have a broomstick. I believe in your strength.”
“Just call me Charlotte,” she raised her wand. “Are you ready to fly over?”
Sean nodded, “On the path to the school infirmary, the most dangerous thing is to move to the stair tower. If we use a broom, we can go directly to the courtyard and then fly to the infirmary from the air.”
“Good idea.” Charlotte nodded in agreement.
Several senior students and Fred, George, and Charlotte stood up and raised their wands.
“Accio Cleansweep!”
“Accio Comet!”
The names of various brooms were called out, and Fred and George closed their eyes tightly, madly recalling what their broom looked like. Finally, a few broomsticks flew over.
“It works!” Charlotte grabbed the broom. She was the first to succeed.
Fred and George also summoned their broomsticks. A third-year Hufflepuff student owned the other one.
It was a curly-haired boy, and he extended his hand to Sean, “Cedric, Cedric Diggory.”
Sean shook his hand firmly, “Sean Wallup.”
Charlotte seemed to be quite familiar with Cedric and didn’t stop him because he was a third-year student. She asked everyone to use whatever they could and finally made a simple stretcher.
Putting Percy on the stretcher, she frowned.
“Are you worried that the snakes are going to be in the infirmary?” Sean asked.
Charlotte nodded, “Madam Pomfrey is only a school doctor. She should have no problem protecting herself, but…”
Sean tightened his robe and said to Charlotte and Cedric, “Can someone take me for a ride?”
Her eyes widened immediately, and she said decisively, “No, I can’t let a first-year student take risks.”
“My spell is actually pretty good. Look, Petrificus Totalus!” Sean took out his wand and stopped the snake that was entering the door.
“However, if I encounter that bloated Ashwinder again…” Charlotte was surprised by Sean’s spell but still frowned.
“Don’t worry. I’m a careful person and will make sure everything will be alright.” Sean looked into Charlotte’s eyes.
Charlotte originally wanted to say something, but when she looked at Sean, the firmness and seriousness in his eyes made her swallow what she was about to say.
“Well, I believe you.”
Amid the uproar of the other seniors, Fred and George carried Percy onto the stretcher while Sean followed Cedric.
“Nice to meet you, Sean. You’re one brave student.” Cedric said to him in a low voice.
“So do you.” The two looked at each other and smiled.
Charlotte gave a few words to the others and then stood at the front.
“They will protect and make way for us. After reaching the courtyard, we will take off directly.”
Hermione looked at Sean worriedly, she took a step, but she stopped. Sean smiled at her, then made a reassuring gesture. He was sure about making this decision because of his talent.
Even if there’s an unprecedented situation, Sean has other options. He still has some things from the lottery that he could use and even his Protego Diabolica to protect him and the others.
Sean doesn’t care whether these things will reveal his secrets. In his opinion, the safety of these people is the most important thing. He believes that Dumbledore will help him later in this kind of action.
For Sean, doing his best to help others while ensuring his own safety is his way of life. Also, he never wanted to see George to be sad, like in the movie.
“Go!” Charlotte gave an order, and the seniors raised their wands to protect them.
Sean knew why the professors’ expressions were so serious when they went outside. In just one corridor, forty or fifty Ashwinders are swarming around.
“There is actually magic in the Great Hall, so a lot of ash snakes didn’t slip into the hall.” Cedric saw Sean petrifying the snakes as he told some things about the school.
Sean shook his head and focused on the front. After encountering the swarm of Ashwinders, the group came to the courtyard without a problem.
“Broomsticks can’t carry people normally, but the two of us are not big. Just hold on to me tight.” Cedric ordered.
Sean nodded. The four brooms slowly lifted into the air.
“Go back and protect the other students.” Charlotte waved her wand at the others, and the broom slowly flew towards the infirmary.
When flying around the tower, Sean saw Ashwinder lurking out the window. They were looking for a place to lay their eggs.
“Damn, how many of these things are in the castle?” Sean frowned. The situation was even worse than he expected.
Away from the tower far away, the group flew in a circle and came to the sky above the infirmary.
“Over there! There isn’t any Ashwinder on there, so let’s land first!” Charlotte instructed everyone to land.
When she reached a certain height, she jumped off the broom directly, and after using the Levitation Charm to reduce the acceleration of her fall, she used the spell to catch Percy’s stretcher steadily.
“Madam Pomfrey, are you inside?” George called out directly.
However, there was no response from the infirmary.
