Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1060: Taking Turns

Chapter 1060: Taking Turns

Lu Wuzi’s actions surprised the members of the Heavenly Star palace and a lot of them gasped in fright.

However, the True Immortals present weren’t surprised at all.

Yin Jingxu, who had just stepped into the grand completion stage of the Martial Dipper Realm after comprehending his martial intent, panicked slightly when he noticed Lu Wuzi rushing at him. However, he seemed to realize something and he started to calmly draw on the remnant power that had been left behind. The dimming star disk above him burst forth with resplendent light and it pulsed above the Star Observatory, cutting through the blizzard that formed.

Even though several breaths of time had passed, Lu Wuzi didn’t let up in the slightest as he maintained his domain and continued to blast Yin Jingxu.

Yin Jingxu might have forced a good portion of Lu Wuzi’s domain to remain outside the platform he was on, but there were still some streams that got through. Snow started to fill the platform.

It was then that Lu Wuzi stopped abruptly as the blizzard disappeared. Everything returned to normal as though everything had just been an illusion.”

On the platform, Yin Jingxu felt a massive weight landing on his shoulders as he drew on too much energy to resist Lu Wuzi’s domain. However, he still cupped his fists respectfully while speaking sincerely, “Many thanks for the pointers, True Immortal Lu!”

“Hehe…” Lu Wuzi chuckled softly and didn’t say anything else. Instead, he stood in the air with his hands collapsed behind his back as he continued to stare at the platform.

Finally, Yin Jingxu seemed to understand what would come next and he couldn’t care about not having the proper etiquette. He grabbed a high-grade essence crystal and started to draw on the power of the starlight to replenish his energy.

After the time it took to steep a pot of tea, Zhang Jianzi spoke, “My skills are comparable to Senior Brother Lu. Palace Master Yin, you need to be careful!”

Lu Wuzi shorted slightly in response and didn’t really care much about what was said.

After Zhang Jianzi spoke, the members of the Heavenly Star Palace felt the world around them turning dark. Raising their heads to take a look, they discovered a heavenly river crashing down on them!

As it came slamming down from the skies above, the curtain of starlight that was originally descending was also stirred up.

The river or starlight fell through the heavenly river that Zhang Jianzi summoned and both sides clashed with each other unceremoniously. The skies above the Jiao Continent were instantly covered with rays of resplendent light.

Like Lu Wuzi, Zhang Jianzi didn’t switch up his attack after summoning the heavenly river. He simply continued to use it to suppress Yin Jingxu.

On the platform in the Star Observatory, Yin Jingxu first resisted the corrosive power of the heavenly river. He continued to adjust his approach as he gathered the starlight around the platform to push back. He shaved away the power of the heavenly river and caused a massive shower of essence qi 300 miles around the Star Observatory.

Slowly gathering his composure, Yin Jingxu didn’t dare to slack off. He quickly absorbed the energy contained in high-grade essence crystals after stopping Zhang Jianzi. He even sent several voice transmissions to the experts of the Heavenly Star Palace and the power of starlight that fell on the platform increased by a whopping 30 percent.

After another time it took to steep a pot of tea, Li Jidao’s clone turned to look at Huang Jinghan and Shang Xia before glancing at the calm Yang Taihe. “Looks like it’s my turn to make a move!”

Yin Jingxu turned serious as he got to his feet. Even though the person making a move was Li Jidao’s clone, he didn’t dare to be careless at all!

With his cultivation in the grand completion stage of the Martial Dipper Realm, he was able to temporarily obtain combat strength comparable to a True Immortal when he borrowed the power of starlight that had been drawn over to the Star Observatory. However, it was a borrowed power at the end of the day. If he failed to stop the test from the True Immortals of the 6 great powers, everything he did would go down the drain.

As soon as Li Jidao’s clone made a move, Yin Jingxu was slightly taken aback. However, he reacted quickly and a sky full of starlight stopped the descent of a dim nine-storied pagoda.

It slowed its descent for a split second, and the phantom disappeared. It was counted as a pass as Yin Jingxu was let off the hook.

On the platform, Yin Jingxu bowed to thank Li Jidao for going easy on him.

Li Jidao’s clone chuckled softly in response, “My true body isn’t here. My clone is just far too weak.”

There was no doubt about it. Li Jidao went easy on Yin Jingxu.

Otherwise, even when unleashing an attack with his clone, there was no way Yin Jingxu would scatter the phantom of the pagoda that easily. No… There was no way Yin Jingxu would be able to hold the attack off at all.

If Lu Wuzi and Zhang Jianzi made their move earlier in accordance to the rules, Li Jidao’s goodwill was like a subtle approval that he was going to allow the Heavenly Star Palace to continue existing.

Facing the test of the 6 great powers, gaining the approval of any of them would be of great help. The Divine Capital Sect was sending help in their times of need.

Li Jidao gestured for them to continue, and Yang Taihe’s clone stepped forward. “Alright, let me make a move then.”

Seeing Yin Jingxu’s reaction as though he was about to face the greatest challenge of his life, Yang Taihe chuckled, “Palace Master Yin, there’s no need to worry. I’m a clone, just like True Immortal Li. I only possess the strength of a new True Immortal.”

Even so, Yin Jingxu didn’t dare to relax.

The person he was about to face was the strongest expert in the Spirit Luxuriant World! Even though his clone might not possess the same level of combat strength, his experience and methods were something ordinary experts would not possess.

Yang Taihe’s clone waved his hand slightly and muttered, “Alright, I made my move, Palace Master Yin, please.”

The members of the Heavenly Star Palace didn’t know what was going on, but Yin Jingxu seemed to have felt something. He raised his head to look at the skies above, but a thin layer had formed above them.

The skies above him weren't what he was used to seeing! Instead, he stared straight at the heavenly screen!

The thin layer didn’t seem too vast and it didn’t cover the heavenly screen above the entire Jiao Continent. However, a considerable shadow was cast above the continent.

The starlight that was falling from the sea of stars failed to penetrate the heavenly screen. The power Yin Jingxu could draw on was reduced by 50 percent!

Yang Taihe managed to find the weakness of the Star Observatory immediately. Even though he couldn’t make Yin Jingxu a lot weaker immediately, the moment they fell into a stalemate, Yin Jingxu would lose once the battle dragged out.

Yin Jingxu started to activate the Star Disk above him as rays of starlight shot towards the heavenly screen. It pierced through the thin layer that formed before allowing starlight to enter the Jiao Continent once again, allowing him to restore his combat strength.

Yang Taihe didn’t do anything else other than creating that thin layer above the heavenly screen. He simply watched as Yin Jingxu destroyed it bit by bit while maintaining a smile on his face.

Yang Taihe seemed to be giving Yin Jingxu pointers while making his move.

After getting rid of the mysterious layer, he bowed deeply towards Yang Taihe’s clone as he had done to Li Jidao’s clone before.

Yang Taihe’s clone simply laughed, “Palace Master Yin, there’s no need to be too polite. I wasn’t just trying to show you the weakness of the Star Observatory earlier. The Jiao Continent was once invaded by the experts of the Spirit Abundance World and the heavenly screen has been greatly affected. Even after it was restored, it’s still extremely weak. That is why your Heavenly Star Palace chose to reconstruct the observatory here anyway. The most ideal place to maintain a Star Observatory is in an Elysium, even if the heavenly screen in the region is weak…”

“Many thanks to True Immortal Yang for the guidance!” Yin Jingxu thanked the other party sincerely while sighing helplessly.

How could the Heavenly Star Palace not know that the most ideal spot to house a Star Observatory was in an Elysium?

However, his martial inheritance barely reached the peak of the Martial Dipper Realm and they hadn’t developed a True Immortal. How could they think of establishing an Elysium?

Without the protection of an Elysium, the Heavenly Star Palace wouldn’t be able to create a Star Observatory on their own. Without a Star Observatory, they wouldn’t be able to establish an Elysium… It was a vicious cycle, which was why the Heavenly Star Palace took such a risk in the first place to scheme against the reconstructed Star Observatory under the noses of the 6 great powers.

Of the 6 True Immortals who arrived, 4 of them already made their move. Huang Jinghan of the Yuanchen Sect and Shang Xia of the Tongyou Institution were the only ones left.

One couldn’t see how the Ice Essence Sect and the Northern Sea Mystic Sect weren't concerned with the development of the Heavenly Star Palace, and the open friendly intentions the Eternal Palace and Divine Capital Sect had shown.

Everyone present understood that the decision lay in the hands of Huang Jinghan and Shang Xia.

If they refused to allow the Heavenly Star Palace to develop, the attitudes of the Eternal Palace and Divine Capital Sect wouldn’t matter.

Dong…

A soft vibration drew everyone’s attention to Huang Jinghang’s Yuanchen Heavy Sword.

Maintaining his expressionless face, Huang Jinghan muttered, “I’ll only make a single move.”

The Jiao Continent had been forcefully taken over by Kou Chongxue and Shang Xia as they moved the influence of the Tongyou Institution in. Now, the Heavenly Star Palace was also about to stick its butt into the Jiao Continent.

In the eyes of the Yuanchen Sect, the Jiao Continent used to be their backyard!

Clang!

A majestic sword intent tore through the void and sundered the stream of starlight falling on the Star Observatory. It twisted rapidly in the air above before slashing down at the Star Observatory at a frightening speed.

“Is he getting serious?!” Someone else appeared beside Shang Xia all of a sudden and the voice rang in his mind.

“Why are you here?!” Shang Xia turned around and shot the newcomer a strange gaze before raising an eyebrow, “Oh? You… You actually sent a clone over?!”
