Chapter 40: Chapter 40: 3 Weeks Later

[3rd POV] [Mount Justice]

After the rather traumatizing training exercise, some time had passed. Most of the team had moved on from the traumitizing incident, with only M'gann taking a bit longer, but after Gwen and her had fun at the halloween dance (at the local highschool), she got over it. Gwen ended up going as Wonder Woman, giving M'gann a rather...enjoyable view.

Besides the dance, M'gann and Gwen celebrated their first month as girlfriends, which included a lot of making out, a date, and gifts. Mostly because M'gann celebrated it first, and lead to Gwen spoiling her little Martian.

During these nearly 3 weeks, Gwen had begun to train M'gann in her mental capabilities, and the martian had made a lot of progress, far more than even Gwen was expecting. The girl was a genuine genius in everything involving the mind. With Gwen's training, M'gann's control had been massively improving through Gwen's teachings.

These teachings were entirely possible due to Gwen's immense knowledge, some of which involves stuff like telekinesis. That, and Gwen was an excellent teacher due to some of her characters having been teachers to a number of people.

She had also invited Artemis and Raven along, but not for the mind training, but the martial arts area of training. Artemis was a quick learner, while M'gann and Raven took a bit longer to learn the martial arts Gwen was teaching.

She primarily focused on jiu jitsu, Karate, and boxing. She made sure to also help them learn how to read the movements of others, albeit, to a small extent, as it takes a lot of training to become a master of such a skill.

Thanks to this training, Gwen had grown closer to Artemis and Raven, and even closer to M'gann. Thanks to their constant closeness, be it training, living in the mountain (in Raven's case), missions, or whatever else, M'gann had begun to...notice things, about the way that Raven and Artemis had begun to look at Gwen.

Besides Gwen training the girls, and M'gann coming to a realization, Gwen had also continued her own training, this time, she had been focusing on Aura. Aura had been an absolute godsend to her, and she had continued to manipulate and train in it. She wanted to get good enough, to the point that she could make constructs out of her aura, similar to the green lanterns and their rings.

Gwen had also noticed the uptake in her fathers interest. The man had begun to investigate her anti-hero side more thoroughly than even before, although he couldn't find much besides a singular video of her wiping out a small gang with a sword.

Gwen knew it was only a matter of time before the man found out what she had been doing, and what had happened to all the villains that had "gotten away". She also knew that the man would more than likely hate her for it. Her team on the otherhand...she wasn't sure of. She was pretty sure that Superboy, Raven, and maybe Artemis wouldn't mind it too much. But Dick, Wally, Kaldur, and...M'gann...she wasn't sure of. She just hoped M'gann would understand why she was doing it, when she eventually tells her, like she was planning.

Currently, Gwen was in her room, working on a project at her desk. She had been focusing more on developing her technology as of recent, having already upgraded her TV into something a bit better. And had begun to work on something more...helpful.

Gwen was cut off from her work, as her door was thrown open "Gwen!"

Gwen blinked and turned, finding Dick standing there.

"What happened?" Gwen asked, having felt the wave of magic pass through.

"The adults have disappeared, as in all of them!" Dick said, causing Gwen to get to her feet and follow after him.

Walking into the mission room, she noticed the team standing there.

"Good, you're here. Any ideas as to what could have caused this?" Kaldur asked, causing the entire team to look to Gwen.

"More than likely a ritual, a powerful one. It'd need several magic users, strong ones. This is most likely the work of Klarion. Separating us from the adults to pick us off, or to destract us, one of the two" Gwen answered, looking to Kaldur as she answered.

"Could you find them?" Dick asked, looking at Gwen.

"I could. But I suggest we help the kids in need first. There's dozens of children in Happy Harbor alone, with many many more out there. We should at the least, help those near us that need it, then find them" Gwen answered, looking to the team.

"That...makes sense"

"Plus, we have to wait for the adults on the otherside to get into contact with us. The spell needs both sides to work together, as Klarion is probably on this side, while the rest of the magic users are on the adults side" Gwen added, causing to team to blink.

"How? We can't just travel between the two"

"We can't, but Captain Marvel can" Gwen answered.

"How? He's an adult" Zatanna asked, looking at Gwen in confusion. Zatanna at this point, is basically an unofficial member of the team.

"His Captain Marvel form is, the one he transforms to after saying the word "Shazam" But his real form is young, younger than any of us, his true form is that of a 10-year-old boy" Gwen responded, a chuckle escaping her lips at the shock on their faces.

"... Which means he can travel between the two worlds freely as long as he says the word. All we need to do, is wait for him to make that connection, and allow him to come to us himself. Until then, we should help everyone we can, until we can make proper contact with the adults" Kaldur said with a nod, realizing what they needed to do.

Gwen looked over her teammates with a smile, as she knew that the plan she had been making for months now, would come to fruition by the end of the day.

"Good, then let's start"

Next chapter is going to be MUCH MUCH (6600 words, aka the longest chapter I have ever named for a fic...ever) longer, and is going to have some INCREDIBLY important moments. As a plan I've had since...a while, will come to fruition by the end of it.

She is also going to be getting with Raven and Artemis pretty soon, with Raven beginning to take more part in the story soon as well.

Sorry about missing the last upload, I was celebrating 4th of July so yeah. I hope next chapter will make up for that, as it it literally the same size as 3-6 chapters lol.
