Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 715 Research Center

Chapter 715 Research Center

Parc and Rouge looked at their Craftsman’s Guild tags excitedly, now that their own sigils were shown on them. This was a sign that they would now finally be able to work as craftsmen on their own. It was an important step in their lives, and they were extremely proud of this considering that they didn’t work under Eisen for all too long yet.

Eisen himself was surprised by this decision of himself as well. It might be because of the skill system, or simply because they were prodigies as Eisen had seen only seldomly, but he felt more than confident in letting these two do their own work from now on. They would be able to earn their own money, and they would be able to gain experience while Eisen was still there to guide and help them.

And most importantly, the sigils would help Parc and Rouge get a bit of acknowledgment and renown by spreading their sigils through the world.

"So... When can we start using these?" Parc asked a bit anxiously, rubbing his fingers over the carving on his guild tag. The young man looked up at Eisen with a wry smile, while the teacher slowly placed his hand onto the boy’s head, "When you work on your next own item, of course. You won’t be able to put them on items where you’re just helping me or others out, of course, but if you are taking the lead, then you’re free to put your sigil on there. It’s like an artist’s signature. It’s your right to put it on those things that you are proud of creating yourself."

Both Parc and Rouge looked at the Sigils that they had been working on for quite a while now with broad smiles on their faces. Meanwhile, Eisen was trying to focus on something else. Casually, as if he had forgotten, he mentioned something that made his apprentices even more excited while Eisen was looking around the area, "Ah, I brought you a few things that I made in the realm of the God of Craftsmanship, I’ll give them to you two later."

The boys opened their eyes wide, barely able to wait for what this old man brought them as sort of ’souvenirs’, but to Eisen himself, it really wasn’t all that important. Eisen was rather trying to find other people here in this crowd of people. In this area where the Guild Halls had been set up, plenty of other important buildings had been constructed.

For example, the Central Church had been built nearby, and the library was around here too. Of course, multiple research centers that were run by the guilds or those signed up with them stood here too.

That was because it was simply much, much easier for many people if this was the case. They would be able to work closely together with these long-established organizations that held a vast sea of information and opportunities within them.

Here, Eisen was hoping to find the place where two of his close friends were working and researching. They were still trying their best to create different scientific tools to compare the differences between the bodies of the people in this world, compared to the bodies of the people on Earth to see how the Originals were changing over there.

And of course, depending on whether or not the people here were basically similar to humans on earth, it would allow Jyuuk to start the development of a few different chemicals and drugs that could be used to fight diseases. If Eisen or Xenia then made use of these chemicals and drugs through Alchemy to create things akin to potions, it might be possible to bring them to another level and use the benefit of the System to improve them considerably.

Eisen thought about where exactly they might be, so he tried to look around. Most certainly, Jyuuk and Xenia would be found in one of the research centers to make use of the already established research there. A couple of documents were found a while ago while this town was being reconstructed, and thinking that they could contain similar things to what they were attempting to research now, as the original authors of those documents were either Jyuuk or Xenia themselves, they tried to decipher them.

Or at the very least, they wanted to try doing so until they managed to remember them somehow. The reason why they had to ’decipher’ them in the first place was rather simple. They were not only written in Ancient Languages that were no longer used by anyone, but they were also written in special code on top of that.

Sky was able to help them translate some of the text, but it was much harder for him to do that due to the illogical way that everything was written. The Ancient Elven languages were a kind that included a lot of metaphors and words with many different meanings depending on the context, which is why it was quite hard to translate them in the first place. But if they were placed in text that was made to be confusing, it was hard for a novice translator such as Sky.

Of course, Sky was trying his best anyhow, and he was getting as much support from the others as he needed. Komer even sent out some requests out to contacts all over the continent to maybe find texts written in the Ancient Elven Languages to be used as a reference, but he didn’t have all too much luck yet.

Although, Eisen did have something that he thought might help them that he, on the other hand, needed Jyuuk’s help for.

Eisen looked at a specific building that seemed to be the one he was looking for. Mostly, because it was the only one that nobody was walking into or out of. It was probably reserved specifically for Jyuuk and Xenia at the moment.

The old man walked up to the door and tried to push it open. He felt a slight shock in his fingertips as he did so, before letting out a deep sigh. He pushed down the door handle and pushed through the current of electricity pouring into his limb. His armor was lessening the damage considerably.

The next moment, Eisen could see Xenia jumping up on the other side of the room, confused at how this door opened up all of a sudden.

"Couldn’t you have made it to recognize me, at least?" The old man grumbled. The High Elf looked back at Eisen before letting out a deep groan, "You could have just messaged me as well... And how did you even push through that, that was a Rank 6 protection Spell..."

"I have my ways." The old man replied cheekily with a wink before he stepped into the room. It made sense that the entrance would be protected like this. Not because Jyuuk and Xenia didn’t want anyone to know of their research, but because not everybody could know of their research.

They had a lot of things placed and written down around here that wasn’t knowledge of this world, but rather of Earth. So if NPC’s saw this, it might be dangerous to them.

After all, Eisen was the one that made a deal that allowed him to reveal this sort of information to others. There was nobody else with this privilege. So, if Jyuuk and Xenia suddenly revealed this, they might not be banned due to the extensions of Eisen’s own privileges, but the NPC’s would at the very least be killed and thrown into the Underworld Circle of Heresy.

Eisen looked around and saw Jyuuk’s body frozen on one of the chairs. Roots covered him and his skin became like wood, "Where is he right now?"

"Ah, Brody needed Jyuuk’s help with something because of the... you know..." Xenia said as she pointed at her forehead. Of course, she meant Brody’s horns. The area around where they grew was close to being infected a couple of times ever since they started growing, so Brody was probably in a bit of pain right now and tried to get Eisen’s help with them.

But there was someone else that was close to frozen at the moment. He was sitting on a chair next to Jyuuk and his cheek was pressed down onto a piece of paper as snores escaped his mouth. With a smile on his face, Eisen approached Sky from behind and placed his hands onto his shoulders.

The boy jolted up as he woke up, and he turned his head to the side confused. Sky only saw the leather glove on Eisen’s hand as well as the special suit’s sleeve, so he didn’t realize who it was at first. Eisen usually didn’t wear this kind of thing, after all.

"Who the fuck- Why’re you waking me up, bastard?!" Sky exclaimed. Eisen laughed for a while, remembering that this was what Sky usually was like with most people, "Oh, if you want me to, I can leave again as well."

The moment that Sky heard Eisen’s voice, he pulled his eyes open wide and jumped up from his chair before turning around and hugging the old man, "Nope, it’s fine!" Sky exclaimed, "I didn’t realize you were back!"

"I only got back rather recently." The old man explained as he placed his hand onto Sky’s head, "More specifically, two hours ago or so."

"Well, how was it? Did anything interesting happen?" Sky asked, and Eisen already knew his reasons for asking. There were plenty of stories about the realms of Heaven and the circles of Hell, that he probably read while Eisen was away.

"You could say that. Don’t worry, I’ll tell you all later. First, there’s something that I need to get done. I’ll become a True Demon when I fall asleep next, so I want to do this before then. I don’t know what’s going to happen, after all." The old man explained as he waved his hand to the side and summoned his item storage, "Bad timing that Jyuuk isn’t here, though."

Eisen stepped inside there and brought out a certain coffin. The old man created a pedestal of rock that he placed the coffin down onto. At the same time, he brought out a small crystal orb and his Demonic Greatsword.

He pressed the crystal orb against the Sword Core and spoke, "Come on, spit it out."

The sword vibrated for a few moments and Eisen groaned loudly, "I said spit it out. I know that it’s a powerful soul, but I told you that you can’t absorb it."

Somewhat hesitantly, the sword did what Eisen wanted it to and pushed a soul out of it into the crystal orb Eisen held against it.

"Eisen, what are you doing?" Xenia asked, and Eisen smiled as he stepped back over to the coffin, opening it up. Inside there, a dead body could be found. It was an androgynous, handsome and beautiful body. Wings and horns decorated it, although the head was cut straight off.

"This one here might be a bit chaotic, but they should be able to help you translate those documents." Eisen explained, looking at the body and soul of Satel that he took as a souvenir from the Underworld, betraying the God of Betrayal himself.
