Chapter 75
The day dawned bright and fresh on the second day of the Apocalypse.
Elliot got up at dawn feeling completely refreshed and ready to take on all of the challenges of the second day.
“Are they awake, Winter?” Elliot asked.
“No Master, they are still asleep. They fell asleep pretty late last night.” Winter replied.
Elliot could have easily turned on his beast-link with Winter to check on the girls himself, but he had his pride and dignity as a man, and he would not peek at girls like that.
“Alright. Let them sleep a little while longer. Tell me when they’re up.” Elliot left the mansion quietly and stepped out into the cold winter morning.
The neighbourhood the mansion was in was pretty untouched by the horrors that swept through the rest of the town. They must have evacuated their homes in time to escape the spiders that swept through the town. But whether or not they managed to stay alive outside of the town remained was an entirely different issue altogether.
Elliot didn’t really care. In fact, at that moment, he really didn’t care for anything except one thing and one thing only.
Trying out his new Beast Transformation!
“White Dragon Warrior. Transform!” He whispered excitedly.
Immediately, a large white mist appeared around him and swirled rapidly. When the mist disappeared a second later, an incredibly cool but relatively small white dragon was in its place.
Most full grown dragons were extremely huge. They were usually around thirty meters tall and sixty meters long. But Elliot’s White Dragon Warrior Beast Form was merely five meters tall and ten meters long.
Although he was large compared to Brock, he was still tiny compared to most dragons.
Not that there were any dragons on Earth to laugh at his size, though.
Still, Elliot didn’t care. The only thing in his mind at that moment was’¦
“LET’S FLY!!”
Unlike the Primal Feline Warrior form which was filled with Aggression, the White Dragon Warrior form was completely filled with apathy. Elliot was able to easily fill the White Dragon Warrior’s soul with his existing thoughts and feelings, thereby expressing his will almost perfectly.
However, despite the White Dragon Warrior’s apathy, there was an underlying sense of complete regalness and majesty that made Elliot feel like he was totally above all the fears, worries, joys, happiness and cares of the world.
It permeated every single iota of the White Dragon Warrior’s being, and it made Elliot’s deep desire for flight seem very childish and unimportant.
In fact, everything seemed childish and unimportant.
The only important thing was itself, its wants and its needs.
“Transforming into a cold-blooded creature sure is different.” Elliot muttered to himself. “But it’s good. More space for me to exert my will. Childish or not, LET’S FLY!!”
Elliot spread his beautiful white wings and leapt up powerfully with his hind legs. He instinctively flapped his wings and immediately took to the skies like a duck on water.
Flying was exactly how he thought it would be, and more. Much more.
It was an amazing feeling. Elliot had never felt so free, so in control of himself, yet at the same time, so small and so unable to control the hugeness of the sky and all the wonders and horrors it might contain!
“YEAHHHH!!!” Elliot screamed out in exhilaration as he executed dives rolls and all sorts of aerial acrobatics one after the other. He was having the time of his life!
At any other point in Earth’s long history, it would be the perfect start to a perfect day.
But sadly for Elliot, he was in an apocalypse.
And the skies weren’t friendly in an apocalypse.
A group of sharp eyed Mutated Griffons which had made their base in the mountains nearby immediately noticed Elliot’s loud screams and flashy movements.
Mutated Griffons were huge three meter tall beasts with a massive lion’s body and an even bigger eagle’s head and wings. Their huge and curved eagle beaks were lined with sharp lion’s teeth, giving them an extremely fearsome look.
Screeee!!! Screeeee!!
They screeched out their eagle screams and immediately took to the skies.
They weren’t really hungry, and they didn’t really look at Elliot as prey.
But the very sight of another beast flying around in their turf without a care in the world completely irked the Mutated Griffons. They may not be strong enough to dominate a large area on the ground, but the skies belonged to them.
Any beast that wanted to fly around in the sky screaming like an idiot could do so over their dead bodies.
Elliot immediately noticed the group of approximately fifteen Mutated Griffons flapping their wings really hard and flying towards him in a neat V formation.
They were screaming and screeching away as they glared at him with their beady eagle eyes.
“Griffons huh? Let me kill them and then cook one to see if I like their meat. They’re technically birds right? A type of chicken?” Elliot thought to himself as he turned around to fly towards them.
When they were around one kilometer away, Elliot opened his mouth and gathered his ice energy.
“Take this! ICE BEAM!”
A freezing burst of ice energy surged out from his body and left his mouth in a small but powerful beam.
It smashed into the lead Mutated Griffon and immediately caused it to freeze to death! It turned into an ice sculpture before it could do anything and began its inglorious fall back down to the ground.
However, it did take up quite a bit of energy to fire one off. He estimated that he could only fire around ten times normally before he had to rest and regain his ice energy.
He opened his mouth again and fired off a couple more Ice Beams at the group of Mutated Griffons.
They weren’t complete idiots and they immediately dispersed to avoid getting hit by Elliot’s powerful Ice Beams.
By then, their distance had closed significantly, and Elliot was close enough to clearly see the whites of their eyes.
“Aerial Charge!” Elliot shouted in his mind as he executed his skill. He shot forward with surprising speed and reached the nearest Mutated Griffon in a heartbeat!
