Son, “Mom” Will Back You

Chapter 175

Luo Xiu's eyes flickered.

He picked up the notebook and flipped through it. His sight stopped on the title next to the simple drawing of a little angel.

"Mengzhi."

"Who's Mengzhi. I don't know––" Qiao Xi stopped in the middle and looked over at Luo Xiu. "Wait, Mengzhi the songwriter who wrote last year's top hit Enlighten Me?"

"Mmhmm."

Qiao Xi was even more baffled, "But wasn't there words that Zhuo Yixuan is Mengzhi?"

"……"

Luo Xiu's smile lightened and he frowned, for a change. "It isn't her."

"But Zhuo Yixuan never denied it?"

Luo Xiu, "She was pretending to be her."

"Oh."

Before Qiao Xi had said anything else, Luo Xiu asked suddenly, "It is very widespread that Zhuo Yixuan is Mengzhi?"

"Of course, especially with the promotion before the filming of Demons. It had brought the talk up to a new height. Many who knew of Mengzhi now believed that Zhuo Yixuan's Under the Bluish Light is Mengzhi's new pseudonym."

"……"

After he was done talking, it finally dawned on Qiao Xi. "Now that you have mentioned it, if Zhuo Yixuan isn't Mengzhi, why didn't the real Mengzhi stood up and say something? Why would they need to hold back and allow someone else to pretend to be them?"

An Yi picked up an orange from the table. Smiling languidly and in a not-so-serious way, An Yi said as he peeled the orange, "Say something? To whom?"

"Well, with the Zhuo family's influence, I guess you are right. Tsk."

Half way through talking, an alarm went off in Qiao Xi's head. He stopped smiling and gave Luo Xiu a serious look. "Wait, are you asking that because you wanted to––"

Luo Xiu looked up. His smile was gentle.

"We don't necessarily need to return the item back to its rightful owner but we can't let someone else squat it either."

"……"

After returning from the remote mountainous area of City M, Gu Nian showered, closed the black-out curtain, silenced her phone, crashed into her bed and slept for an entire day.

She finally woke up in the dark groggily the next afternoon.

She felt much better after she had woken up as though she had made up for all the sleep for the past month. She washed her face with some cold water and immediately felt very lively. The only problem now was……

She was starving.

Gu Nian walked out from her bedroom and there was nobody in the living room. Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan said they were going to go shopping this afternoon and smell the fragrance of the city. As such, Gu Nian wasn't surprised that she was the only one home.

Opening up the refrigerator, she pulled up eggs, ham sausage, instant noodles and green onions from her section and walked into the kitchen.

She dropped the noodle into the pot after the water started to boil, sliced up the ham and green onion and sprinkled them on top of the noddle. She then casually cracked the egg on the edge of the pot.

When her bowl of noodles was done, she was finally able to settle her stomach that was starting to hurt from hunger.

Standing in front of the kitchen counter, Gu Nian frowned in deep thought as she ate.

Her stomach felt awful from just being hungry and her precious son had a gastric lavage when he was just a child. She couldn't even begin to fathom the sequela from such a thing.

Na ah. She must go consult with her wonderful mother in the next couple of days. She seemed to recall an old traditional medicine doctor around her old house who was good at nurturing the body…...

As she was thinking, the front door to her apartment was pushed open and Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan walked inside with bags in their arms as they chatted about something.

"…… She was just a shameless one!"

The abrupt statement made Gu Nian looked up with noodles between her teeth and a dazed look.

Jiang Xiaoqing's look of righteous indignation mellowed out some after she turned and saw Gu Nian. "Oh look, our sleepy beauty had finally awoken."
