Solo Player Arvin

Chapter 21 - -20<Departure>

The next morning Arvin woke up early in the morning. He had grown accustomed to the exercise that was given as tasks by Dobby. So as he woke, like his routine for 4 months, he started his morning with a run of 10 Km, and then he completed all the other exercises like he has been doing for 4 months.

After working out, Arvin had a bath to clean all of his sweat. He then came back to Josh's house to take his belongings as well as to say the last goodbye to Josh. As he came back to his room, he grabbed a sack with the help of a big cloth. Then he placed all the clothes that he had bought during the last 4 months in that sack. He wanted to use his storage option and load his things in that storage space. But storing his belongings right now may raise some questions so he decided that he will store his belongings in his inventory after he had left Bonnie.

As he packed all of his belongings, he walked up to Josh's room to say goodbye to that old man. He had been very nice to Arvin for all these months. Arvin still didn't trust him enough to tell him the truth about himself. But Arvin was grateful for all the things that this old man has done for him for the past couple of months.

Arvin reached Josh's room, he knocked on the door.

"Come on in," Josh said from behind the door. Arvin then pushed the door open and entered the room. Inside the room, Josh was already awake. He had a cloth in his hands and was cleaning a broad sword with it. Arvin had never seen that sword before. He became curious about how the sword came into possession of Josh.

"I thought you would leave without saying goodbye," Josh said while smiling. He then kept the sword aside on his bed and walked up to Arvin. He then opened his arm in front of Arvin. Seeing this gesture Arvin also smiled and gave a warm hug to the old man. After they separated, Arvin was still smiling.

"Ok Old man. Thank you for what you have done for me for all these months. I wonder whether I will be able to ever repay you." Arvin said from the bottom of his heart.

"What are you talking about Lopt? I just gave you a job. I did nothing special for you." Old man said.

"Well, it meant a lot for me. So this is goodbye then" Arvin said, then he turned back to walk out of the room. But as he was going, Josh interrupted him.

"Where do you think you are going without taking your present?" Josh said.

"What present?" Arvin asked, turning back towards Josh.

"I have been awake the whole last night, shining this magnificent sword. If you don't take that sword with you then it will be considered rude." Josh said smiling.

"That sword. It is for me?" Arvin asked with surprise.

"Yes. Of course, it is for you." Josh said excitedly

Arvin then walked up to the sword and picked it up. Like any broadsword, it was very heavy in weight. Its handle was made up of black colored wood and overall normal looking. Arvin smiled while seeing this sword. In Arvin's life, he had not received many gifts. That is why he was very happy as he saw that sword.

"It is beautiful," Arvin said while trying out the sword.

"It belonged to my big brother, after his death, I sneaked that sword out of my estate," Josh said while smiling.

"Are you sure that you want to give this sword to me? I mean this must hold a sentimental value to you right?" Arvin asked.

"Nah I hated my brother. And believe me, I was thinking of selling this sword and visiting a good brothel with the money that I will get after selling it." Josh said with an expressionless face.

"Thanks for the sword, Josh."

"It's ok. It is useless to me anyway. I wanted to give you an ax, but didn't have any in my stock."

"Your stock?"

"Yes, my stock," Josh said. Then he walked to his bed. He then pushed his bed aside. Under Josh's bed, there was a small trap door. Josh opened the door and showed its content to Arvin. Inside the trap door, there were 4-5 long swords. Some wooden shields, who were about to go bad. There was a pouch and judging by its shape and size, it contained money. In The adjacent pouch there was a piece of long wood. When Arvin looked closely towards the wood, he felt something wrong with the wood.

Arvin had a feeling that something is weird about the wood. He then grabbed the wood and inspected it. Inside the trap door, that wood was under a sword and some rusted shield. So the only portion of the wood was visible to Arvin. But as he fished the wood out of the trap door, he found out that the piece of wood was an ax.

The ax's wood was pitch black. Like any normal ax, this ax was a little bit tilted from the end. Arvin could feel some carving on the head of the ax. The wood was very light and the way that this ax was made, it could be interpreted that this was a battle ax. And it could have been of great use to Arvin. But the only bad thing about the ax was that its head was almost destroyed. About 60% of the ax's face or the blade portion of the ax was missing. From the uneven chipped part, it could be interpreted that this ax's head was broken.

"Oh, you like what you see?" Josh asked as he saw Arvin checking out that ax.

"Yeah. This is a great ax. Wood is very light, perfectly balanced, and has a very familiar grip to it."

"I know. This ax is my family's heirloom. I told you that my family had a great warrior during the period of the apocalypse, right?"

"Yeah."

"This ax belonged to that warrior."

"Woah."

"Yeah. It was my favorite weapon when I was growing up. I wanted to repair this ax and then use it. But it turns out that no one on the 1st floor was able to fix it."

"What? Why?"

"Don't know. Blacksmiths told me that no matter what they did, they were not able to separate the head and the handle of the ax. So fixing it was a very long shot. Plus, they were not able to recognize the metal used in this ax."

"You mean this metal is not on this floor?"

"It is plausible," Josh said.

"Nice" Arvin then was about to put back the ax in the trap door. But as he was putting it back, Josh stopped him in the middle.

"Why don't you take that with you too."

"Take this?" Arvin asked.

"Yeah. I will never be able to fix that thing anyway. You may as well take it with you. Maybe you can earn something after selling it." Josh said.

"Josh I can't take this. It's your family heirloom." Arvin said.

"Take it, young man. And as you said it is a family heirloom. Look around you, do you see someone here except me. I don't have a family. Most of these weapons are getting rusted down here anyway. I would rather have you take this ax than any mother f**ker who comes to ransack this place after my death."

"Are you sure?" Arvin asked.

"Yes. Take it Lopt. Go on an adventure and see the big world called Yggdrasil." Josh said while smiling.

Arvin then gave a hug to Josh one more time, before he finally started his way to Arcane city. Arvin was first thinking about not going to Arcane city but as he found out that he could disguise himself as another human being, he was assured of his safety. He thought rather than going to an alien city, why not spend some time here? After he had gotten all the information that he needed he would move on.

Plus the fact that the Arcane city was very close to Bonie village. That meant that his travel time would be less. And the most important thing is that he wanted to investigate whether someone was looking for him or not. He had a feeling that there would be some sort of bounty on his head by Alman. But he was not sure of it.

So in his visit to the Arcan city, he wanted to find out the situation about his bounty and whether they had a picture of him or not. And while he was at it, he wanted to know about HTCs. From what he had heard it was a very lucrative job and it is a job respected by many people. Even Alman also is an HTC. So he wanted to find out what HTC is.
