Chapter 143 - -57<Unluckiness-6>
The armor that Arvin got from the bandit leader was not a very good condition. It seems to Arvin that this man must have either stolen this armor or have snatched it from a dead body. But despite that Arvin was grateful to that bandit group. They may have destroyed his camp, but in return, they gave him useful information.
As Arvin now knows that all the major clans and Bahamut Empire are there in the city he had to be extra careful. If someone finds even a glimpse of his face he would be in big trouble. Now as he doesn't have his shape-shifting abilities he had to be extra careful while in the city. Arvin was also thinking about the portal that this guy talked about. He was very curious about why the hell everyone that went inside didn't come back? And only the black fennec fox was the only person that came out alive?
Arvin was sure that these major clans and the empire would do anything to make that black fox speak. If he had done something different from all the other people then they all would have gotten some idea about it. And yet still they are unable to return back alive? What the hell happened in there? Arvin was thinking that the sacred temple must be this dusty old rune that he would need to explore. But this is turning out to be something more bizarre.
Arvin then packed up all of his stuff and started the following compass again. He needed to change his camping site as he left the bodies of those men there. And if idiots like them found his campsite then so can any other guy out there. And if his guess is right then the Doja city would not be that far from his current location. So he changed his location and started going straight for the city.
Traveling at night without any kind of light was a tad bit difficult. But Arvin was right. Only after walking for about 20 min or so he started seeing a city in a distance. As Arvin approached the city he saw that the sandy dunes were not getting converted into barren solid ground. While the medallion was also pointing straight towards the city. Arvin then with a great smile on his face started going towards the city.
But as Arvin got close to the city, it was then he felt something. It felt like he had walked through an invisible dome or something. Arvin then open his mana eyes and checked. And for sure, the whole city was surrounded by what looked like an invisible dome made with a tight network of runes. Seeing that dome Arvin started feeling anxious as he didn't know what was the purpose of the dome. But if his guess was right this dome here saw through his power level. And soon enough Arvin felt that some mana fluctuation and sensed that some people were speeding towards him….
…
Arvin was not able to guess the strength of the people that were coming towards him. He could just sense that they were zooming towards him at an incredible speed. Arvin didn't know what to do at the moment. If that dome really have guessed his real power then he would be in big trouble. So in this situation, Arvin took the first idea that implemented it…
He got off from his mount and made as much distance as he can from his mount. While he was running away he saw that three people were running towards the mount from the city. So these people are already here. So Arvin lied down on his back and took out his ax. Then he used illusion casting to make an illusion of rock around him.
This was a very very bad idea. Because as Arvin was coming here he saw that the ground around the city was plane and devoid of any rocks. So it was a shitty idea. But Arvin didn't know what else to do at the moment. He could not have just run away cause the dome would feel it. Plus he could fight or kill these men because that would mean that he would be hunted. And as the Bahamut Empire is here he could take risk of getting hunted. Because who knows that Rank-1 Magus could be staying in the city.
Arvin closed his eyes and tightened his grip on the ax…
Arvin was inside his illusion so he could not see outside. But he was able to sense it. The three people that came here were checking out his mount. Two of them had the strength is around Peak Level-2 Acolyte. While the other one was a level-3 Acolyte. The level-3 Acolyte didn't seem that strong to Arvin. But they were still strong when combined together. And sure enough, after checking Arvin's mount, these three split up and started running around to find Arvin.
When these people were running around many times they passed by him. But it didn't seem to him that anyone realized that this was actually a rock. Many times these people came too close to touching the rock but they didn't so. And Arvin was thankful for that. But Arvin has always been the least favorite of lady luck.
Soon one of the men came towards the rock. And he was going to touch it. Arvin tried to sense the location of this guy's teammates. And sure enough, they were a little bit far from their current location. Arvin thought that this would be the correct timing…
As the man came close to the rock, Arvin straight away threw his ax towards that man. And as the illusion was not transparent the man was not able to see it coming. So the hit from the ax went in without any hiccups and cleaved the man's skull in two
As Arvin had now killed this man he had to think of a way so that he could get out of the situation really quickly.
