Chapter 50: A Slime and Speed Showdown!
"Which floor are we on now?"
"...80, I think?"
: It's 81.
: Pay attention.
: Too careless.
: What's with these people?
: This is terrifying.
Honestly, after diving this deep, it becomes hard to keep track of what floor you're on. From floor 76 onward, the strength of the monsters doesn't change much, and the dungeon turns into this endless, dark cave-like environment.
The monsters that appear also start getting more grotesque, and there are some truly annoying ones.
"Another slime, huh?"
"Sigh..."
One of the most troublesome creatures is the slime. This gelatinous blob can't be harmed by slicing, stabbing, or crushing. The only way to deal damage is by striking its core with pure magic. But the real problem? It's huge. We're talking a good 10 meters in size, easily blocking the dungeon's passageways, so ignoring it isn't an option.
"Hyaa!"
"'Kijin.'"
'Understood.'
: Whoa...
: They've been doing this for a while now.
: Are they seriously going to the bottom floor?
: It seems possible at this point.
: I'm exhausted from this endurance stream.
: How many hours have they been at it?
: Still going strong, huh?
"Oh, it exploded and tried to escape!"
"Chase it."
'As you command!'
After Kamishiro hit it with her magic, the slime seemed to sense imminent death and exploded in all directions to protect its core. But Kijin wasn't one to let it go. With a burst of magic, the smaller, fleeing slimes were crushed, ending the battle.
To be honest, we could probably make it to the bottom floor if we kept pushing... but something about that doesn't sit right with me. I'd rather prepare properly before attempting a full dungeon dive. But, since we've come this far, I might as well go a bit deeper.
"Still... this is getting kind of boring."
"Please don't say that."
"Ehh?"
This woman really gets bored too easily. I mean, she dropped out of university just because she got bored, after all. It's like she constantly defies understanding.
Granted, the dungeon's environment hasn't changed in a while, and the monsters haven't exactly been exciting... but seasoned explorers don't get bored this easily.
: Too free-spirited.
: But her personality matches what we've seen on social media, so it checks out.
: Is this what they call "accurate characterization"?
: No, that's probably not it.
: LOL.
: Kisaragi, just drag her along and keep going.
: Maybe it's time to head back?
: Either way works for me.
: If it's dangerous, you should head back.
"It's not dangerous, really... I'm used to exploring unknown floors, so there's not much of a sense of urgency."
: You're insane too.
: Always keep a sense of danger, man.
: Don't counter crazy with more crazy.
: What's with these EX people?
: Y'all are nuts.
"They're talking about you, you know?"
"Ignore them."
The viewers' comments can be ignored—nothing bad comes from that. Honestly, it's best to just ignore most of what they say and only engage when you're really bored.

While bantering with the viewers, we soon discovered the stairs leading to the next floor. If I remember correctly, the 82nd floor is the deepest I've ever reached... maybe? I'm not even sure anymore.
"What's the final floor, I wonder?"
"If we've come this far, I hope it's the 100th. That'd be pretty exciting."
"Right? It'd be like a dream! Anyway, let's keep going!"
"Aren't you the same person who just suggested we head back?"
: LOL.
: This free spirit.
: Stop making decisions on a whim.
: Is this what deep-floor explorers are like?
: This is actually terrifying.
: What do you people even fear at this point?
: Uh...
: The viewers are lost.
: Are all EX people like this? Japan's top fighters are scary.
It feels like a bunch of wild misunderstandings are spreading online at light speed. Should I try to set the record straight? ...Nah, forget it. People were already saying whatever they wanted before I even started streaming. No point worrying about it now.
Kamishiro, of course, couldn't care less about any of that. She's already sprinting full-speed down the stairs to the 82nd floor. By the way, she's using magic-enhanced body strengthening to run at full speed, but I can catch up easily since I'm even faster. The camera, though? It probably won't keep up, so I'll have to carry it.
: This is making me dizzy.
: Too fast.
: This isn't human speed.
: Ugh.
: People are passing out in real time.
: Streaming this kind of speed with your body is insane.
: This is too much.
: I can't even look at the screen.
: I'm confident I'll puke if I keep watching.
"Arrived! The comment section is hilarious—everyone's down for the count!"
"Maybe work on strengthening your inner ear a bit?"
I don't plan on moving this fast for stream content very often, but come on, people need to toughen up a bit.
: Don't kid around.
: I can't even look at my phone in the car without getting sick!
: I throw up if I just turn around in a car.
: That was basically the speed of a roller coaster, right?
: You guys ran faster than some amusement park rides, and you think it's fine?
"Ignore it!"
"Monsters are here."
'Leave it to me.'
Descending the stairs, we encountered a demon-like monster with four arms. Kijin, who had been following behind me, leapt forward and snapped its neck with a single kick.
: Uh...
: Too strong, LOL.
: Do we even need anyone else?
: This guy is supposedly a support role, right?
: Kijin can do it all, huh?
: This guy acts all nerdy, and yet...
: What's so special about Kisaragi?
'Did I just hear that?'
: Oh no, you idiot.
: Uh-oh.
: You pressed the wrong button.
'Master's greatness surpasses that of the universe itself. His heart is vast and kind, and even when I deliberately mess up, he says it's fine. He even goes out of his way to tolerate scum like you all.'
: Who you calling scum?
: I mean, she's not wrong.
: We're being convicted for stating facts.
: This is slander.
: Being accused of factually describing things is a serious crime.
: You could get executed for that.
"Kijin, back to your house."
'Please, Master! I beg you, anything but that!'
"Stop clinging to me, geez!"
She's incredibly beautiful, but I wish she wouldn't get so close. I'm starting to feel bad.
: Hmm... why does the "Honorary One of Us" get all the girls?
: This is unacceptable.
: Should we revoke his title?
: But if we keep him as "one of us," our status rises by association, right?
: No, it doesn't.
: LOL.
"Haha! Your dynamic with your shikigami is as funny as ever!"
'As if you have any room to talk, wanderer. You're the one causing Master the most stress. Ugh, how irritating.'
"Huh? This Kijin is still as annoying as ever!"
'You're one to talk.'
"Isn't this a case of 'pot calling the kettle black'?"
: Is this mutual dislike?
: Stop the catfight.
: Kisaragi, this is your chance to say, "Don't fight over me!"
: In reality, Kamishiro gets punched, and Kijin goes to her "house."
: LOL.
Sigh... I don't think any of my streams have ever gone according to plan. Maybe I should start pre-planning everything in more detail... I found myself staring off into the distance, lost in thought.
