Solo Cultivation in The Apocalypse

Chapter 55 A Horde Of Green Creatures.

Hitori grabbed the doorknob lightly, without putting too much pressure on the door, Hitori pulled open the door, as soon as it was slightly open, familiar squeaking noises came from inside.

Hitori's face changed expressions. Anger, disgust, surprise, disappointment, and then back to anger.

A frown appeared on his face and Hitori pulled both of his hands near his waist, "why?" he groaned in disgust, "Just. Why?" He kicked the door open in anger.

With a loud bang, the door smashed against the wall and cracked from the center. Hitori dashed inside the room full of green filthy, disgusting, shameless creatures.

Hitori puffed his chest, he brought his hands near his chest at shoulder level, "Hi no Mahou: Firestorm!" just as the name suggested, a storm of fire took over the whole room when Hitori threw his hands forward.

The strange shouting, screaming, squeaking, squealing, wailing noises of the goblins rang in the room that had burned down to crisp in a minute.

Hitori had taken a few steps back and now stood at the entrance of the room. He still had a frown on his face, full of anger and disgust.

He started receiving notifications about the goblins he killed. The number exceeded twenty and that too, above level fifteen goblins. Emotions fuel the power.

[-3]

Because he had no wand in use, the recoil of a high-level spell cost him some amount of his health.

Hitori clicked his tongue before he raised his hands in the air, "water splash." balls of water came out and fell on the fire Hitori had lit.

It was a slow process but in the end, Hitori managed to extinguish the fire. He let out a sigh.

And:

[Mana: 4,789/7,650]

He lost a lot of mana. Regardless of that, Hitori took a step inside the room.

[you have entered the second floor's first room]

[you have cleared the second floor's first room]

[you have leveled up to level eighteen!]

Finally. He thought. It has been a long time since he had leveled up.

[Level eighteen 744/8,550]

<Cultivated mana: 35,530/80,000>

'Not even half.'

After he took a good look at his stats, Hitori decided to move forward. Right in front of him was the way towards the second room on the floor. Without any delay, Hitori opened the second floor's second room.

"...." he stepped inside and saw another horde of goblins. This time, Hitori could not hold it, "why…?" his hand went to his cloak.

Hitori's hand went inside the side pocket at the inner side of his cloak. His hand touched the wooden stick that was lying in his upper side pocket.

The goblins turned their heads to Hitori, he managed to grab their attention. The first goblin moved followed by another, their speed increased.

Hitori quickly pulled his wand out and held it in front of him, he walked back, out of the room, his wand still at the goblins.

"You filthy fucking goblins!!" Hitori took his wand above his head, then chanted the spell, "Ice Hail!" right at the moment Hitori brought his wand down, the goblin leading the horde had his face pierced through hail.

Things just got started. Slowly, because Hitori still had not mastered the ice domain, hails started coming out.

A strong hailstorm erupted from his wand when Hitori lifted his wand up and swung it down again.

Hitori almost lost his balance and fell to the ground because of the recoil but he had enough emotions, enough power to sustain the pressure.

Again, the noises of goblins filled the room. Hitori's hails pierced through lots of goblins, broke down the wooden room, made holes everywhere, covered the whole room in hail and strong stormy wind.

Again, the notifications of goblin kill started spamming in front of Hitori's screen. Not only Hitori but even Reon received the messages of Goblin kills.

But… Reon had another problem to deal with. She had imagined the pit she fell into to be a normal cliche trap but to her surprise, her health reduced out of nowhere.

Reon looked down at her feet and saw tens of insects- no, they were not insects. Reon quickly lifted her legs and shook them away from her legs.

"Shit." Reon's hand fell on her gun, she aimed it at the HANDS that popped out of the pile of dark leaves.

Reon pulled the trigger, the bullet went through the knuckles of one of the hands and she received a message, the same was sent to Hitori.

[killed a Crawling Claw, gained ten experience points]

"No way…" she gulped, "they- they just keep coming!" she exclaimed. A few more claws popped out from the holes created in the sides of the pit.

Reon started firing at them, she killed numerous crawling claws but it was just not enough, they kept coming at her like an army of ants that never ends.

Crawling claws. They looked like the hands of humans but only they had nothing above their wrist, just a tiny end of a bone popping out.

They actually were severed hands of murderers animated with dark magic so that they can go on killing more and more people. They were actually easy to kill (just how difficult will it be to kill an already dead hand?) and hence they gave very low Exp in return.

"These seem… never-ending." she shot another bunch of claws which gained her experience but it had started to exhaust her slowly.

"Crawling Claws?" Hitori was yet to step onto the third floor, "hold on, Reon-san, you will find a way," Hitori could not run back to help her. More like, he did not know how to help her.

Hitori curled up his lips and took a staircase. It was an underground dungeon which meant Hitori had to climb up, there are some dungeons that took you down though.

He took the wooden staircase that led to the third floor, hopefully. The staircase made creaking noises every time Hitori climbed a stair. It continued for another minute or so before the staircase ended.

Hitori climbed off the staircase and looked around. There were stone walls behind and around him, not much place to roam. On both sides, medieval period wooden fire torches were lit.

And in front of Hitori stood a strong wooden door, probably the entrance to the third floor, only if it is not a trap though.

Hitori took a deep breath and looked at his wand, 'it has been a few days since I last used a wand.' he thought, 'this is an in-game wand though.' Hitori lifted his head and stretched his hand, with the wand, forward.

Hitori pushed open the door with the back end of his wand, the door creaked. Hitori had to apply even more force to push the door open completely.

"I… just hope," Hitori muttered to himself, "that there are no green creatures ahead anymore," Hitori exhaled through his mouth and, took a step inside.

He held his body close to the door, so as he does not expose himself to the enemy or enemies. The door opened inside, Hitori lost his cover.

Hitori pushed the door, pulled up his wand, and aimed at the enemy, 'oh no.' Hitori's face started to turn ugly, really ugly, 'why. The. Fuck?'

Hitori's grip on the black wand tightened, "fucking goblin!"

In the two-hundred square meter room sat a big fat red-colored goblin in the middle, on the ground.

And it snored, it was sleeping!
