Chapter 219 Do you want to go back?

219  Do you want to go back?

Sylvia looked around the temple grounds of the forest in awe. She had never been to this place before, and the way the entire structure was decked in gold gave a vibe that the place was an extremely important landmark.

"This is the resting place of your ancestors and some of the other powerful beasts," Roman whispered in her ear.

"Ah, thank you," Sylvia whispered back, but her lips brushed against the wolf's ear, making him instantly blush a little. Roman's awkwardly cleared his throat and moved a little to stand away from her.

Sylvia noticed this odd reaction, but she quickly turned to pay attention to the council. She didn't want to miss anything happening here.

There were representatives from all the different clans, making the meeting considerably big. There were about a hundred beast folks in attendance.

This was nothing when compared to the party at the royal palace, but everyone here was far more important. Every single big shot of the beast clan and their father and grandfather seemed to be present at the meeting.

Weirdly, there weren't too many women around. So there was a lot of testosterone at the meeting, with Sylvia's own father, Frederick Akhekh, leading these ranks.

He was visibly displeased that this meeting was summoned, and he made sure to show it. However, the other main party did not seem to take the hint.

Another beast clan elder was going head to head with him. Sylvia couldn't quite recognize what beast clan this old man belonged to.

She stared at him, trying to figure this out, and was to ask Roman when suddenly the person turned to look right at her.

"Your highness, you are being a little too humble. I personally witnessed Princess Sylvia's battle prowess. One more warrior has joined our ranks, so how could I not call for the meeting?" He chuckled, tossing around flattery very generously.

But the King was not pleased.

Sylvia gulped. What was going on? She suddenly had a feeling that she was being used like a chess piece by these people, but she was already warned, and she stayed quiet.

Though, unbeknownst to her, her eyes turned a shade of silver as inwardly she also wasn't pleased. If it was one thing she hated, it was being used and treated like a pawn.

She and her father might be at odds, but she agreed with him on this. She did not like this old elder. What was he up to?

And Frederick Akhekh asked the same question next.

"What is it, Bruman? Why did you gather this meeting? I do not have a lot of time, and I don't think any of the other council members would want to waste their time with these trivial exchanges. Let's get this over with." The King ordered with a wisp of his power behind his voice.

Immediately everyone trembled. Even Sylvia felt the oppressive power, but the elder in question still stood nonchalantly. "Your highness, please don't misunderstand me. I did not call this meeting on a whim."

The old man looked serious as he spoke, but Sylvia could swear that he was grinning smugly inside. There was something about him that just pissed her off.

However, the next instant, the old guy once more turned to look at her. "Princess, this piece of information especially concerns you."

"Huh?" Sylvia was confused. Concerned her how? Before she could say anything, Frederick Akhekh once again threatened using his commanding tone. "I will decide what concerns her and doesn't concern her."

"I see." Bruman nodded respectfully. However, his subtle smile still hadn't disappeared. "In that case..." The man bowed and continued, "I will let the appropriate person take the stage."

Bruman suddenly moved back, and another person stepped out of the crowd. Shockingly, this person looked very much like the King himself!

Sylvia gasped.

"This is your brother, Ezra." Frederick indifferently answered her. Before Sylvia could digest this new turn of events, the person opened his mouth, and a familiar name appeared.

"Your highness, I will be crossing the sea and leaving for the Kalindor Kingdom soon." Ezra's slit-like eyes fleetingly gazed at Sylvia as he said this.

This was because the Kalindor Kingdom was none other than the human Kingdom which Sylvia had run away from, only narrowly escaping with her life.

A fresh flood of memories assaulted Sylvia as she silently trembled.

Everything she had tried to forget instantly came back up again, reminding her of how she had been cowering in fear in the prison cell, left to die.

Without realizing it, Sylvia growled, and her aura shot up without restraint.

"Ha Ha HA! I see that the young princess is already prepared. This is why I called the meeting, your highness. I thought that the princess might want to accompany Ezra in this mission." Bruman laughed and added.

The other elders also exchanged knowing looks. However, Frederick Akhekh's face was now unsightly. This was exactly what he did not want to see, and everything was happening.

"No. The princess will not be accompanying you, Ezra. You can leave on your own." He immediately put an end to this but the next second.

"I am going," Sylvia growled. She was completely furious and beside herself. On top of her already tired stature, she almost looked like she was talking unconsciously.

The beast inside her was out for everyone to see, and she was not there to control it.

All the elders standing around were extremely experienced, so they only needed one glance to see this and understand her situation.

An emotional person like her was easy to handle and manipulate, and this was what the King did not want to show.

But now it was too late. The cat was out of the bag, and along with it, a million problems were going to crop up.

At the same time, to see Sylvia like this, his heart ached. She indeed needed to visit her past. There

was a small chance that this might heal and give her the thing that she was lacking the most right now.

Looking at her again, Frederick Akhekh suddenly said. "Ok. You may go."
