Chapter 67: Destination
Chapter 67: Destination
Power surged in Sol's body as he killed the Demigod, He absorbed the shards it possessed when he killed it, the shard he absorbs was different than every shard he had absorbed before, it was a complete divinity of a demigod rather than a piece of Apollo's divinity.
He felt like there was a sun burning endlessly inside him, it was the demigod's divinity, and there was also a countless smaller source like a star on the sky, it was Apollo's shattered divinity.
In essence, he had enough divinity to be a demigod, but Demigod was not just about divinity but make it your own power.
Sol had stepped foot outside the door of Demigod but he had not stepped in yet, to be a Demigod, he needed to make the Divinity become his.
"This is it, this is the power I need to protect everyone," Sol muttered as he felt his body grow stronger.
Even though he grew stronger, Sol was not near unbeatable, Nerodia at her peak would win against the current him ten out of ten times in a fair fight.
When He finished getting familiar with the new change his latest kill bring, Sol looked around to find the snowstorm was weakening.
Sol wanted to bring the Demigod copse with him as it was the strongest material he could get to make a defensive armament but the Yeti was too big and they still need to go to their destination first before going home.
In the end, Sol cut both of the Yeti's arms and skin its pelt to bring home, the giant arm was probably the strongest part of its body so he did not want to waste it.
After he was done with his loot, Sol turned his focus toward the bronze arrow he had used to kill the Demigod.
It layed on the rocky ground that started to snow when Sol got to the arrow, he found it turned into stone, He could not sense the strength it possessed before.
"Eh? Is this broken? Or is it one-time use only?" he wondered as he tried to pull at the arrow.
Sol raised the stone arrow easily with one hand, he weighs it and tried to throw it at the Demigod's corpse but it did not exhibit any sign of the bronze arrow power.
In the end, Sol bring the stone arrow back in case he could repair it or used it for something, he could ask Minerva about the arrow of he needed to.
Sol checked on everyone's condition before they continue their journey, Moon had recover perfectly but somewhat exhausted, Miya had blood and bruise all over but it would heal in a few hours, nothing too serious.
Blacky was exhausted and bloody but could heal with a gas torch in five minutes, Tanya and Nerva were not harmed in any way.
Nerodia was still unconscious as she keeps going in and out of a long sleep, she would only wake up to feed on his blood and get back to sleep afterward.
The snow car was in perfect condition, it could carry them to their destination without any trouble and the urn they carry was not broken in the fight.
It would be a disaster if the urn was destroyed, they would need to turn back empty-handed after such a long journey if that happened.
Looking at the GPS that had started to work again, their position had deviated quite a bit from their route, it would take them another two days to reach their destination.
Luckily they had prepared for a longer journey duration so they would not be starving anytime soon, they had enough food for a few more days.
Even with one extra mouth to feed than the initial plan, Nerodia did not really eat much, she just ate a little and drunk Sol's blood to recover her strength.
Sol started to suspect her becoming a vampire but her being a snake did not really come in line with being a vampire.
Sol was about to continue their journey when Nerva's little voice could be heard, "Dad, let's rest here, for now, we can continue our journey tomorrow"
Nerva was thinking about Sol's condition, he had no rest for more than two days and he had a big fight just an hour ago, she was worried that he would get exhausted.
"Ah, fine," Sol replied as he thought Nerva was tired.
Sol was indeed tired but after he kills the Demigod, the power surge give him enough energy to continue their journey.
He did not mind taking a rest because of his power-up, he did not need to fear anything under Demigod, with Moon, Blacky, and himself, unless there is another Demigod or group of Heir, they would be able to finish the fight easily.
As for fighting another Demigod, Sol was not optimistic in the prospect as the Bronze arrow was not useable, there is no way he could beat another Demigod without the arrow's help.
Sol build their camp like before, they only had 3 tents with them so he could not make the 4th, he finished the camp within half an hour and the girl had also secured the area.
Tanya had cooked their meal while sol was building the tent, finally having real food after two days on the run was great for them all.
They finished their meal quickly and get to their tent to rest as everyone else other than Sol was exhausted from the fight.
The sleeping division was a bit of trouble as the tent cant fit more than two-person, Nerva could sleep with Moon and Miya just fine as she was small but adding Nerodia to the tent was pushing it.
In the end, Nerodia sleeps with Sol in his tent as she might need to feed on his blood in the night.
When everyone else was asleep, Sol did not go to bed directly as he was not sleepy yet, he went to an open space by the camp and train his new technique.
Sol tried to use the limit break, after a few seconds of concentrating, Sol finally able to do the technique as he did before.
He could last a minute under that state, it was way better than before, his recent power-up had allowed him to use the technique way longer than he expects.
The aftereffect had also been reduced as he could still stand after the limit break, he could not really fight but at least he would not be motionless for an hour.
After the brief experiment, Sol got tired and finally ready for bed, he got to his tent to find Nerodia sleeping quietly in it.
It suddenly dawned on his mind, "I will be sleeping alone with a defenseless girl?" he muttered.
After Nerodia turned into a human form, they had been on the run from the Demigod inside the snow car so this was the first time they were alone.
To be alone with such a beautiful girl, Sol as a healthy male, his mind started to wander but he pulled himself out of it, "No, Sol! Remember who she really is, if she regains her memory then you will be dead!"
In the end, he was able to hold himself back, the next day, they continued their journey without a hitch.
The following night, Sol asked Nerva to sleep with him and Nerodia to keep himself in check, Nerva's face got beat red when he asked her about it.
The next day was their last day before arriving at their destination, it was a metropolitan city almost twice the size of their city.
They had a better defense than their city so Sol had expected more people to survive at their destination.
It did not take long before they arrived at the city, When they got near the city, Sol notice one difference that the city they were from, in this city, there was thirteen Temple.
Sol had known that some city had more Temple than the original twelve but he had not expected to visit one of this city.
As for the city itself, it looked rather busy and he could spot a lot of new buildings around the temple, they looked better maintained than their city.
Sol was not really optimistic about their entry to the city as his experience told him that people that guard the border were not friendly.
Just as they near the city, a group of guards had stoped their snow car with their guns pointed at them, "Stop right there! Who are you guys and what business you have here?" a guard started to shout at them.
"Fuck! What is it with all this guard, are they NPC or something? Can't they say something different for once?" Sol complained in his heart at the man who just did as the protocol.
Sol slowly came out of the snow car with both arms raised in surrender, he tried to look as docile as possible, but a guard just decides to be frightened by his presence and shot at him.
