Chapter 151: Blood Hound
Chapter 151: Blood Hound
After paying for their things, Sol and Tea hurried out of the city, they did not want to stay longer than needed, the best chance to evade mistakes was to decrease the chance they would make them.
If they left the city then there was no way they could attract trouble, that city had too many powerhouses to their liking, if there were only a few minor demigods then they might spend the night there as it would not threaten them much but things were not as they hoped.
"The closer we are to our destination then the riskier it is, we should find a way so we don't need to visit anymore city," he thought to himself.
When they went out, the headless bodies were still there, the smell of blood started to spread around them.
Rather than avoiding the corpse, the creatures were getting closer to the headless bodies, they seemed to be attracted by them.
"Is it me or their eyes are glowing red?" Sol asked Tea to make sure.
"They are really glowing, we should leave as soon as possible," She hurried him away.
They could sense bloodthirst starting to leak from the people, they seemed to be affected by something.
They were growing taller and bigger, fur started to appear on their body and within a few seconds, the group of people transformed into some kind of werewolf, the only difference was they were dogs rather than wolves.
They started to howl to the sky before scrambling toward the bloody mess of corpses, the dogs went mad and started to devour them.
"What the fuck? Isn't that crazy?" Sol's eyes opened wide when he sees that.
"Sol, don't just look, let's run, when they finish the corpse there is no telling what they will do next, and I had a feeling that this will happen on a larger scale," Tea pulled him out of his thoughts.
"You are right, let's go," he replied and followed her to the city gate.
Sol did not take any chance and started to run all of his power in tandem, knife aura started to be accumulated while the healing dome was making sure that his body was in perfect condition.
The healing dome would automatically heal any wound he suffered and in some cases nullify the damage he received.
This time he covers Tea with his healing dome as well, as he reaches minor demigod, he could manage to cover others on top of covering himself.
"Huh? What is this? I feel stronger," the girl commented.
"That only gives you some protection, don't stop, we need to get out before other things happen to these mad people," Sol told her.
On the other hand, his sun ice ability was working as well, he conjured a few ice orb that followed him anywhere he went, they were absorbing heat over time, Sol planned to let it accumulate strength just like the knife aura.
He could actually leave Tea and went faster but he decided to walk at her pace, having someone as your teammate was better than being all alone, he did not want to let her die in vain.
Suddenly they see people blocking their way, they were not the normal people but those who already turn into weredog, bloodlust was so heavy around them, even though they were only a lesser demigod, they could feel pressured by their bloodlust.
"Get out of the way!" Tea shouted as she conjured a giant fire ax that she used to decapitate them in seconds.
"No! Why did you kill them?" Sol was not able to stop her before she killed them all.
"Huh? Why not? They clearly won't let us go without a fight," The asked him obliviousness.
"Now there are more corpses, people would lose their minds faster, you should just restrain them instead of killing them," he explained as they ran.
"Shit! I didn't think about it! let me just burn them so there would not be any corpse," she said and set the corpse on fire.
They left the burning corpse behind as the smoke rose to the sky, but to their surprise, more and more creatures lost their mind.
Because there was no corpse to be eaten, they started to run after the duo, they forced their way through the group with their superior strength.
"Don't kill them, just restrain them," Sol reminded the girl, he didn't want to take any chance.
"I know," She replied while they ran.
They finally reached the main street, there were a lot more creatures there, once Sol and Tea reached them, they were about to pile on them, it was bad for them.
"Sol, I don't think I can stop them unless I kill them," Tea told him as there were too many creatures to be stopped without killing.
"I will stop the, You just concentrate to run," he told the girl to keep running as he pulled one of the ice gems that he had conjured, it had accumulated so much heat that he could sense it was brimming with power.
With a single motion, he threw it at the group of creatures, just as it reached the middle of the group, it exploded and chains of ice grew from the gem, it reached everywhere within a few second, each creature was stopped on their track by the chains of ice.
They were trying to get free but they could not break the ice, the longer they were chained, the weaker they become, if they did not free themselves then they might be sealed forever by the chain as it sapped all of their body heat.
They tried to use their power to break the chain but it was futile as the chain was on a minor demigod level and had resistance toward their ability.
"That should do the trick," Sol thought as he was about to reach the city gate.
"Sol, Minor demigod ahead!" Tea warned him as she sensed a dozen minor demigods were coming toward them.
He could sense them as well, they were still in human form but their eyes were glowing red and bloodthirst was leaking from them.
"Stop there! You visitors have killed people in this city and caused chaos, you should be punished for this," one of the demigods shouted at them.
"Don't stop, keep running, we better fight outside than in here, they would get reinforced if we fight here," Sol told Tea.
Wall of blood and bones started to block their way but Sol pulled out Nai from its scabbard and channeled his power toward its blade.
Sol ran toward the wall that was blocking his way, and cut them to pieces, it cut through them with ease but he did not have time to admire his handy work, he continued to run out of the city.
They finally able to get out of the city when another group of bloodlust could be sensed, "Damn, there is more of them!" Sol cursed as another group of minor demigods joined the existing one.
They were running after him and Tea as they ran from the city, their only saving grace was there was not Major demigod among the people who went after them.
"They are getting closer, should we fight now?" Tea asked him in hesitation.
"No, it's too close to the city, we can't resist it, the city lord might come as well if we fight here," he denied.
"Then..." Tea was about to ask what they should do then as the major demigods were about to reach them when Sol suddenly picked her up from the ground.
"Hang on, I will get us out of here," He said as he used the limit-break ability and purple lighting and ice fog started to cover their body.
Sol's speed increased considerably as he left the group behind, he was faster than a normal minor demi-titan as he had accumulated enough knife aura.
Tea was about to protest but she kept her silence as she would not be able to run from the group by herself.
After five minutes, Sol had put enough distance between him and the creatures, he stopped on top of a hill and put Tea down.
"eh? Why stop here? They are still coming toward us!" she asked him in panic.
"They seem to be able to track us, it's better if we kill them so we don't have any future problems," he told her.
If the group of mad creatures actually follow them even after a few days, then when they need to visit another city, it would bring them a big problem.
It would also make them unable to rest peacefully so Sol was correct that they need to kill the group of bloodhounds.
But the only problem was they were outnumbered 1 to 12, it would be impossible for them to win.
"Are you crazy? We can just keep running, there is no way we can beat this much minor demigod," she said.
"Hehe... we can just get a reinforcement you know?" Sol grinned at her.
