Chapter 141: New Born Spirit
Chapter 141: New Born Spirit
Sol ends up unable to move at all, the trial affects him too much, "this trial basically makes it impossible for anyone that lives longer than a decade! The longer someone lives, the worse their sins are!"
"There is no other choice then," he thought as he channeled his strength to activate the limit break mode.
Purple lightning and ice fog started to appear around his body as Sol felt his physical strength soar through his limit.
The weight on his shoulder became more manageable as his power increased, to his surprise, the weight on his shoulder did not disappear.
Normally, the limit break's purple lightning would purge any power it touches but it seems to be useless against the trial power, the weight on his shoulder did not dissipate.
Sol barely able to get back on his own two feet before he continued his journey through the ring, it took him almost twenty minutes to reach the next ring.
His back was sweating bullets as he had exerted all of his power and stamina in order to get that far.
"two more rings left, gluttony and greed huh? He thought as he wondered what kind of stupid thing the ring would consider as sins next.
He steeled his heart as he walked through the ring, images started to pass through his mind, there was too much image that he could not keep count on how much was there.
"Are you kidding me?" he muttered as he got smashed to the ground in a split second.
The images that pass through his mind started when he was a baby to recent images, he was either eating or drinking in those images.
"FUCK!!!!" he cursed as he could feel his bone-breaking under the weight of the trial, the increased weight was almost triple of all the previous weight combined.
"This is ridiculous, why would eating and drinking be considered as a sin!!!" he lamented.
The sixth ring was the ring of gluttony, it was just the definition of gluttony being stretched too far that even tasting food would be a sin.
"Why did I even try this trial? This trial is impossible!" he wanted to cry.
The only thing stopping him from being reduced to bloody paste was the limit-break enhanced regeneration, every time his bone creaked it would heal before it could creak even more.
"Fuck! I'm trapped, what do I do?" he wondered.
"For now I should get out of the limit-break mode, if I got weakened in this trial then it would kill me," he thought as he got out of the limit-break mode, the lightning and ice fog dissipated from his body.
In the split second, he got out of the limit break his body weakened and he could feel his bones starting to crack, Sol hurriedly used his healing dome to heal and made his body virtually impossible to be hurt.
The healing dome was already able to advance to minor demigod level but Sol had been suppressing it so he could participate in more trials and advance his other abilities.
In reality, he could use the healing dome to negate the pressure on him and make his body invincible from the weight but if he did so then the ability would breakthrough into a minor demigod level and he would be disqualified from the trial.
"Damn, should I just give up?" he wondered when an impression got transmitted to his mind, 'more aura' his knife begged.
"Fuck this greedy and gluttonous knife!" he cursed but in the end, he gave it what it wanted.
Just as he was feeding it, Sol suddenly had a great idea, "Wait, if this knife is alive, then if it reaches the altar, wouldn't it be considered as completing the trial?" he thought to himself.
"This theory is worth trying," he thought as he let go of the knife from his hand.
It fell flat to the floor before suddenly flying through the ring, Sol had conjured the combination of healing dome and knife aura to control the knife through the ring.
At first, he was afraid that the knife would be burdened by the trial but to his surprise, it was very light, the burden was negligible.
"Hahaha! Knives don't need to eat! Take that you stupid trial," he thought as he controlled the knife to the next ring.
"Wait, will this greedy knife be alright?" he wondered as the next ring was the ring of greed.
To his surprise, it passed the ring without trouble, the knife had been living for a few hours while its power was already comparable to a lesser demigod as its power came from Sol's power, the weight from a few hours of sins could not weigh it down.
It took the knife only a few seconds to reach the altar, but nothing changed when it reached the altar.
"Eh? It didn't work?" he wondered.
"Is it because the knife doesn't have a body so the trial thought it as an object instead of a person?" he thought.
Sol was thinking to conjure the knife soul puppet body for the knife spirit but after some thought, he decided to add the healing dome as well to create the puppet so it would be closer to a living being.
Ice started to be conjured on the knife's blade while he conjured it, but this time the healing dome made them more organic than just a material, Sol was trying to create something similar to the ice Nymph that was born in his mini-world.
In a few seconds, the knife had already been covered by ice and people could see it as it started to form a human-like body.
He even created every detail like organs and blood vessels to make it closer to the real nymph, he did not know what organs they have since he never dissected them but he just deduced that they have similar organs to humans.
It took him a full minute to conjure a full body for the knife, rather than the hard solid ice body, it ended up with a flesh-like body that was made of sun ice and healing dome ability.
Its appearance was similar to that of his knife soul as it was based on the knife soul design, a beautiful woman with long white hair and pure white skin, her eyes looked like crystal as it looked around in confusion.
Of course, Sol did not forget to conjure a white gown of ice so it would not be naked in front of the other participant.
"Aaa... Uuu... Eee...?" It tried to talk and move with its new body.
Once it moved and Sol finished conjuring its body, suddenly the weight on everyone in the trial building was lifted.
The trial was officially ended as there was already someone on the altar, "Haha it's a success!" Sol thought.
As the knife still tries to familiarize with its new body, people and creatures run toward the altar to try and steal the treasure in it.
To their disappointment, there was an invincible wall stopping them from getting on the altar where the knife was looking confused at a shining gold apple on the altar.
The gold apple was the trial's reward, Sol tried to tell the knife to take it back with it through their connection but it was barely able to understand what he wanted.
After a few minutes of trying to tell the knife to pick up the golden apple, it finally picked the apple from the altar.
"Ugh... how hard can it be to talk with newborn sentience?" he lamented.
Just when he lowered his guard, he could suddenly feel a spike of desire from the knife, when he looked at it, it was already too late and the newly created body took a bite from the golden apple.
"Fuck! This apple could also bewitch people to eat it!" cursed as he saw it finished the apple within a few bites.
Sol had tried his best to stop it but it would not hear him, the golden apple control could not be broken by a simple command from Sol.
"What a waste!" he could hear Tyx complain behind him.
He turned back and asked her, "what is that apple? Will it be alright?"
"that's what you humans called as the source of all sins, the apple of knowledge! If a lesser demigod eats it then they would be able to advance to be a minor demigod once they digest it!" she explained in exasperation.
"What?! Isn't that a cheat?" He was shocked by the revelation.
"That's why it is a waste for your little puppet to eat it! why didn't you stop it?!" she complained.
Sol wanted to tell her that he could not as the knife has its own mind, but he didn't think she would care, she would still complain anyway.
"Ugh... we won't be able to get it if it's not for it so I think it's just right to give the reward to it," he said helplessly.
