Sol Vestitor: New Age of God

Chapter 12: Heir of God

Chapter 12: Heir of God

Sol sits alone in the tent when someone comes in. She is the same woman that interrogated him before.

"It's you again!! Is this another interrogation?"

The woman want can't keep her poker face, she awkwardly says, "No, Mr. Vestitor. As we said before, someone will answer all your question. It just happens that nobody wants to entertain the mountain ghost."

"What is this mountain ghost thing, ma'am?" Sol asked.

"that's what people call you, you should have look how creepy you looked in those bloody clothes. Anyway, outside the interrogation room you can call me Hilda" Sol can hardly believe this woman is the same woman that interrogated him.

"So, Ms. Hilda, can you really any answer question I have?" Sol says straight to the point.

"Yes," She simply replies.

"What are these temples and what happens to the city?" this question has been in his mind since he arrived here.

"After the God of Underworld and the Death finish his announcement, there was panic all around the city, people start to hunt for shards here and there, and then it happened."

"what happen?"

"Animals start to change, they were becoming more human. But most of them don't come in peace, while some pets are still loyal to their owner, stray animals start to attack humans."

"Stray dogs and cats are not that much trouble but the number of rats is too much that we need to evacuate out of the city"

"it was then that we found the temples. No one knows how they get there but it already there when we found it."

"Each temple represents one God and there is a God statue in front of each temple. Each of these generates heat so we make our evacuation tent around the temple" Hilda says.

"then what is this shards thing?" seeing that Hilda finishes her explanation, Sol asks another question that bug him ever since the beginning.

"this one is quite hard to answer, we don't really know what is it. Currently, we conclude that it is some kind of power source from God Apollo shattered divinity."

"it can enhance human capability. For animals, it can help them evolve closer to a human while gaining wisdom and awareness."

"Shards can be obtained by finding it or by killing others to plunder their shard." This much is align with Sol's own knowledge on shards.

"then what about this armament thing you said?"

" There are two types of shard users, first is the regular shard user and second is the armament user. Regular shard user absorbs the shards to enhance their body while armament user shares a small part of the shard with their armament."

"while regular shard user has a stronger body, an armament user has a weapon that truly effective against anything beyond human"

"I don't know how to make an armament, but some people say that the heir of Vulcan God of Flame and Forge can help people make an armament"

"What is this heir of Vulkan?" Sol cuts in.

"well, the heir of God is someone with a trace of God's bloodline. An heir is just how we call them, they are not a real heir that will inherit God's position." She says while trying to keep her face neutral.

"are they demigods?" this question bugs Sol a lot. While he gets a lot of shards, his body never exceeds the human's limit other than his abnormal regeneration.

"No, while they are stronger than a normal human shard user, they are still human"

"How strong are they compared to others?" Sol questions her.

"A way to gauge power level has not been established, but currently the military estimate that someone with a God bloodline without any combat experience and only a single shard can beat a trained soldier with a hundred of shards."

"while hand to hand, a trained soldier can beat someone with a hundred of shards more than the number of the shard that they have"

"what?? How come they are so much stronger?" Sol can't help but mutter.

"they have some special ability, that what make an Heir different than regular human"

"How can I know if someone has a bloodline?"

"the bloodline awaken with your first shard, if you awaken one you will feel a connection with one of the God statue. Only someone with awakened bloodline can sense if others have any bloodline."

Sol feels a bit down because he doesn't feel any connection with any God statue.

"Then how strong is someone with armament?" Sol tries to change the topic.

"Not that much stronger than a regular shard user and more often weaker than regular shard user. But you can see it as an investment, there is a rumor that if you share enough shards with your armament then it may get some special ability"

"ugh..." Sol groan. "So, after all I have been through, I'm only Stronger than regular shard user with a lesser number of shard."

"How about creatures? How strong are they compared to a human?"

"normal creature is as strong as a trained soldier with single shards and predators is as strong as a trained soldier with hundred of shards. A creature with a bloodline needs a team of 3 heirs to kill it.

"Shit! Luckily Nerodia was weakened back then" Sol thanks his luck. "maybe I'm an heir of Goddess Fortuna" Sol muse.

"anymore question?"

"do you have any tips or tricks for me to survive here?" Sol wisely asks.

"HAHAHA... you are quite wise Mr. Vestitor, is this a part of being a teacher?" Hilda laugh. "as for tips... you shouldn't find trouble with any camp near a temple, each temple has at least one Heir other than the temple of Minerva and temple of Vesta."

"For a trick, hmmm.. You can feel how much shards someone has by feeling how much heat they generate. Though it isn't that accurate at least you have something to base your judgment on."

"How accurate is this trick?"

"it only gives you a feel of how many shards they have in approximate, while not how much they had put in their armament, how much training they have, nor if they have any bloodline. So you better don't find trouble easily."

"if that is all, you can leave. You can get back into the city if you want to, it should be safe enough for you as long as you don't meet any predator or creature with the bloodline." She said finally.

"one last question, how many shards do you feel I have?" Sol looks in her eyes.

"Almost, a hundred and with your two armaments, I estimate maybe somewhere around hundred and twenty," she said while going out of the tent.
