Sol Vestitor: New Age of God

Chapter 115: Rough Start

Chapter 115: Rough Start

Sol was not the only one taken aback by the familiar situation in the underworld, they had also expected to find one hellish place that it would be hard to survive in.

It took them a while to went out of their daze and regain their sense, Sol directly conjures an armor of ice to protect himself from any potential danger.

Even though the environment did not seems dangerous, the appearance was often time different than reality.

Sol had been told by Nerodia to not underestimate the underworld, it might not look dangerous but even a random creature in there was at least a demigod.

"So this is why she told me that it might look safe, this place really doesn't look like hell" Sol thought to himself.

When the other looked at him conjuring an armor, the follow suit, his action might indicate there is a danger nearby that only Sol can sense.

Of course they also on guard against him, Sol was ready for a fight, he could attack them any moment if they were unprepared.

Being told that Sol kills someone in front of Vulcan made them look at him as if he was a bloodthirsty murderer that doesn't care about the consequences of his action.

They also had killed their fair share of people but knowing that Sol did in front of a Major God made them wary, he was able to kill someone in front of a Major God was a testament of his strength and madness.

Not even Tea who was a Minor Demigod could replicate his feat, of course, there were some factors in play such as Vulcan was underestimating Sol and he had the healing dome unique property that could be used even against a Major God.

They conjured their own armor and scan the surrounding with their eyes and sense, unable to find anything particularly threatening, they turned to look at Sol in question.

"Is there any danger?" Jennie asked him with a doubtful look.

She noticed that even Tea was confused at his reaction which means she did not sense anything, for a Minor demigod being unable to sense anything while a lesser demigod could be quite unthinkable, so the only explanation was he did not sense any danger.

"Huh? Did I say there was a danger? Can't I just conjure my armor in case there is one?" Sol asked in return.

His question offended the girl a bit and she dismissed her armor while turning away from him, "gosh... you scared us," she complained.

Unlike Sol who conjures a solid armor, Jennie's armor was made from wind, it would take some of her energy reserves to maintain it, she could not use it all the time as it would drain her dry in a day or two.

She tough Sol was wasting the precious energy that could be used to defend herself when the situation calls for it.

The others also showed some displeasure but no one said it as they did no want to start a fight in unknown territory.

"it's ok to be cautious, but you should also conserve your energy," Tea said in advice to Sol.

Normal demigod did not have as much energy reserve as Sol who had three core, he could sustain his power longer than they could.

Sol's only limitation was when he used multiple abilities at one, the usage did not equal one plus one is two but it takes way more to keep multiple abilities running at the same time.

His bigger energy pool also did not affect the number he could conjure at once, there was a hard limit on the number of things he could conjure at a time, the only thing he could do to overcome the limit was to advance to be a Minor Demigod.

"It's ok, I could sustain this indefinitely, you don't need to worry about me," he told the girl.

Sol would rather have himself protected all the time in the underworld, he did not want to be caught unprepared.

What he said was not actually a bluff, he could indeed sustain it indefinitely although it was limited when he was in the underworld, there his ice armor could sustain some of the energy consumption by absorbing heat in the surrounding.

If they were in the mortal realm where everything was covered in ice and snow, there would not be enough energy to be absorbed.

Sol still needs to spend a little energy to keep the ice armor from disappearing but his expenditure was still lower than his regeneration so he could afford to use the ice armor indefinitely.

Of course, once they get in a fight the situation would change, if he added a healing dome to the armor then even with the heat as an alternative energy source, his expenditure would still exceed his regeneration.

Moreover, he would need to conjure other things to fight, at that point even with his vast energy reserve Sol would be exhausted in a few hours.

That being said, he had another trump card which was the limit breakability, if he went into demi-titan mode then he would use stamina instead of energy, he could continue fighting even after his energy pool runs dry.

Of course, it comes with a price, Sol would be exhausted after he used the ability and it would make him vulnerable to even the weakest creature.

Tea looked a bit displeased by Sol's reply as she was being considerate, she thought that he was boasting.

"If you run out of energy to fight when you need it then don't come crying for help," she told him, "And you guys too," she said to the other.

The other dismiss their armor to conserve their energy, although their armor was solid thus cost less to maintain, every single bit do matter in the fight of life and death.

"OK, enough chit chat, let's march to the gate home!" she said in enthusiasm.

The other did not say anything and just follow behind her in silence, they knew that her decision was not the best not the most rational but her value as a Minor demigod hung heavily for them.

She was akin to an umbrella in the rain, when the umbrella decides to went left they were forced to follow it if they don't want to get wet.

They walk without encountering any danger in the first hour of their journey, to be exact they did not meet any creature since they get to the underworld.

Their relative safety did not last long when they met a group of vultures, it was a raven black vulture with a bright red claw, from their appearance Sol could guess that they were a demi-titan.

They went flying high in the air when Tom first spotted them, he warned the group about the vulture but it was too late as the vultures already diving straight to their location.

"Don't get too close!" Sol warned the group, as they were demigod, their advantage was on range fighting.

For them to fight a group of Demi-titan in close-quarter combat was asking for trouble if not straight-up suicide.

"Cowards, let me show you how a real Demigod should fight," Tea said sarcastically at him.

She directly flies toward them at a faster speed than Sol could advise her otherwise, she was confident to fight the group as there was no one on an equal or higher level with her.

"Fuck, can she really beat them?" Sol cursed in frustration.

Even if Minor demigod was way stronger than lesser Demi-titan, if she fights against multiple of them in their strong point then it was likely that she would lose.

Tea conjured a flaming armor and giant battle-ax made of fire, the fire burns blue and the heat could be sensed even if she already far away from Sol.

She swung her giant battle-ax at the first vulture as she soars through the sky, but to her surprise, the vulture changes its flight trajectory and dodge the battle-ax with unmatched speed.

It counters attacked by sending its bright red claw into the Fire Demigod's side, she could not dodge as her flight ability was from her fire ability and was not as agile as a natural flying predator.

The impact sent her spinning in the air, but luckily the claw could not pierce her fire armor as it was made by a Minor Demigod, it would take more than a single hit to destroy it.

Being physically weaker than the vultures and in numerical disadvantage, she could only be sent flying across the sky as they hit her while dodging her every attack.

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME!!!" She screamed in frustration and a barrier of blue fire was conjured around her and explode outward in every direction.

The vultures had backed away fast enough to dodge the blue fire, they were not hurt but it gave Tea enough space to collect herself and lick her injuries.

Sol and the other finally got close enough to assist the outnumbered Demigod.
