Sol Vestitor: New Age of God

Chapter 113: The Underworld

Chapter 113: The Underworld

Sol reaches the temple early by a few hours, the temple was as deserted as he saw the last time he went there.

Although there was nobody there, the temple had no dust as it was created by the Gods, it would not get dirty unless the Gods allow it.

The only exception was the temple of Apollo, since Apollo died in the hand of Pluto, the temple lost its fire, unless someone takes care of it then the temple would be weathered by time.

Sol tried to go into the temple of Minerva but it was closed, The Goddess won't open the temple no matter what he did.

With no other way to pass the time, Sol went over his gain, thus far he had not been able to become a minor Demigod, he still unable to piece together the insight he gets into a qualitative change in his ability.

He was still mulling over his insight when he sensed the ice seal he places on the teleportation gate cracked.

Within a second, the ice encasing the gate broke into thousand pieces, the gates flung open revealing nothing but darkness.

"Who opened the gate?" Sol got startled by the sudden turn of events.

As far as he knows, the city connected to the gate was in the same timezone as his city, it should be morning on the other side but he could only see darkness from the gate.

Before he could react, A man in a suit of black went out of the gate, He looked directly at Sol and sign him to come closer.

With the only presence of the man, Sol felt a heavy pressure on his shoulder, it was almost as heavy as Vulcan's presence.

"Is that man a God?" Sol looked with wide eyes.

He obediently comes toward the man as there was no way he could survive the encounter if the man wanted to kill him.

"You are early, follow me its about time for the meeting," He said as he went back to the gate.

"I thought Minerva would be the one sending me to the underworld, is this someone she sends?" He wondered.

With caution, Sol went into the gate with a slow step, He could not see anything from the other side as darkness was covering the gate like a membrane.

Once he went through the gate, the darkness got left behind, on the other side was a field filled with people.

There were dozens of people with presence similar to the man that picked him up, the stand around the people in the field as if stopping them from running away.

"Everyone is being sent to the underworld? There are at least a thousand people here," he mused at what he saw.

"Get in line and don't think of running away, I need to pick up more people," the man said and went back through the gate.

It seemed that the gate could lead to multiple places and he could go anywhere he wanted as long as there was a teleportation gate there.

Sol get into the line the man was directing him to, it seemed that people there were divided into small groups and put into line accordingly.

There were three people in his line, two-man and one woman, the looked in their early 20's or late teen, Sol knew better than belive their appearance, Tanya was young while looking mature and there were a lot of older people that look younger once they become a Demigod.

The other three looked at him with measuring eyes, it was highly probable that the people there would be their teammates in their journey to the underworld.

Sol could sense that each people in there was at least a lesser Demigod while some was a Minor Demigod.

He did not know how could they advance so fast but one thing for sure, they were stronger than himself.

The three in his line were only a lesser demigod like himself, he toughs his journey would be hard without someone on a higher rank, but that way he had a chance to lead them.

He believes that it would be better to have control of their team rather than let others lead him.

But his thought changed when the man in suit comeback with a girl in a priestess outfit, she clearly stronger than the other three by far, she was a minor demigod.

"All five of you listen," the man said, "I will brief you before you guys got send to the underworld with the other."

"As you all know, this is your punishment and redemption, you guys are going to the underworld through a secret channel and being tasked to open the gate of the underworld," he started, no one interrupts him as everyone already know that much.

"All five of you will be sent into a random location in the underworld so the chance you went with another group is slim."

"your goal was at the highest point of the underworld, that is the only thing I can tell you as no one had visited the underworld other than The Major Gods and they decide to keep their silence."

Everyone's face looked gloomy as they did not know where to go in the underworld, if they were lucky then they got directly in front of the gate but if they were unlucky they got sent to the other side of the world.

The man pulled out a bracelet with numbers on top of it, it shows a hundred, "This is your life sign, once you get into the underworld, it will decrease one point each day, you might have guessed, what does it mean, that's correct, once the number gets to zero you will die," he told them a piece of grief news.

A man beside him raised hid hand and the man in a suit told him to talk, "We only have a hundred day? Is there no way to extend it?" he asked,

"The number would increase by ten if you kill anyone at least on the tire of Minor Demigod, but the limit is a hundred, if you kill more then it would not do anything," he replied.

Everyone's face went dark as it was a tall order to kill one minor demigod even for the girl who was also a minor demigod.

"Fuck! This is a suicide mission!" Sol cursed in his heart, "I need to become a minor demigod in three months if I don't want to die."

The man in suit continues his explanation as if he did not see their troubled face, "every group will be given a key in the form of a cube, it would allow you to open the gate on the underworld once you reach it,"

"it has another function, other than opening the gate, it will explode if all of you lose your life as to preventing the people of the underworld from finding out our plan."

"if there is nobody in your group at least a hundred meters away from you then it will also explode, So you need to make sure to keep it with you, without it you won't be able to open the gate," he explained.

"Any question? If you have any doubt then you better ask now before your time is up," he looked at each one of them.

Sol raised his hand the fastest, "Are you a God?" that was one thing he wanted to know the most.

"No, I'm only a Major Demigod, you weakling would not be able to talk if you really meet a God," He answered plainly/

Vulcan was not really in front of Sol at that time he went to the pantheon of red smelter, it was only a weak incarnation but it already that strong.

It gave Sol an illusion that God was at that level, but now he meets a Major Demigod that was way stronger than the incarnation, it opened his eyes to how powerful was a Major God.

The other looked wide-eyed as he was, they also thought that the man was at least a God, it seemed there was a wide gap in power between a minor demigod and a major one.

The higher the level than the power gap also gets wider, that way the one on lower rank would get a hard time in killing anyone on a higher rank.

Sol prayed that he won't meet with any major demigod in the underworld, it would be impossible for him to survive if he meets one.

Once they finished asking questions, the man in the suit went away, leaving them by themselves, no none talk with each other as they were wary about them.

They knew that each of them commits a crime in the eyes of the Gods, it would be better to keep their distance in case the other has a funny thought about them.

After a few minutes, a giant presence that dwarfs the other presence press on them, at the center of this source was a Man that felt ancient, "Jupiter!" Sol thought with wide eyes.
