Chapter 97: Furious Escape
Chapter 97: Furious Escape
Right after that, Sakim's Greed Energy rushed out of his body engulfing the area around three kilometers. It caused terror within, threatening to steal everything in the area.
Without realizing it, Sakim's very nature, the greed lurking within him, overpowered him as it was the only thing that was currently working upon him. He couldn't help grinning as later on, he chuckled. But as if it wasn't enough, Sakim began to laugh reacting to what he currently felt.
"This feeling..." Sakim never thought that accepting such power would be this good. It was as if he was in control over everything as he could get everything he wanted. Not only that, he felt much better compared to what he felt in his past life. It was as if he had just found what he was looking for that he couldn't find till now.
Sakim enjoyed the feeling for a good while. His laugh that was as if filled with malice continued to cause terror in the surrounding area. Everything alive shivered. Be it trees or grasses, the insects and the monsters, all kinds of living beings in the surrounding area shivered in fear. Not to mention, the players in the area: the bandits, the knights, and the robbers. They all couldn't help but fall on the ground as they finally felt what greed suppression truly be like.
After a good while, Sakim finally felt a bit of satisfaction. No, to put it more correctly, he wanted to try something else. Something much better. Perhaps it was to steal or anything, but he wanted to try the power he currently wields.
With that in mind, Sakim retracted the Greed Domain he unleashed. His Greed Energy in the area then rushed towards him. The darkness he summoned a while ago was also summoned back as it disappeared together with the Greed Domain. It gathered back within him not daring to come out if it wasn't told.
Sakim continued to grin. Seeing that his Greed Energy had finally come back to him, he raised his right hand forward trying to do something. So after a short moment, the Greed Energy then came out again from his body.
But this time, it was different. The Greed Energy became visible to the eye and had actually coated his entire arm. It was red in color but it was transparent. It formed something like an arm of a dragon with huge and long sharp claws.
"Oh..." Sakim was delighted to see it. To think that he could really solidify the Greed Energy and use it to cover his arm. If that was the case, then he should at least cover his entire body to have a better result.
On the other hand, Izel who was still safe in the area, found her eyes widening in surprise seeing what her master had just done. With great difficulty, she muttered with a stuttered voice, "G-greed... M-m-manifes-tation..."
As expected of the vessel... As expected of her master... To think that he really was capable of such a feat.
But then, although it was still within her expectation, Izel still found it hard to believe as she was still filled with amazement. How could she not if what Sakim had done was something that only the family leaders were rumored to be capable of? Even in her many years of living in this world, she only witnessed such a feat right now.
With this Greed Manifestation, his stealing capability would be improved greatly. He could steal even things that he hadn't touch and he could steal it with ease. Even something internal such as strength, HP, MP, speed, abilities, skills, talent, memories, etc., were could be stolen with this Greed Manifestation. Rumors even said that those who could create it, as long as they had enough Greed Energy, could steal even stats and levels of other players. This thing was so dangerous that those who managed to do it were revered as a God.
Izel stared at her master. She smiled proudly as if telling the world that he was her master. She was just thankful that her master forced them into submission and made them his slaves. Perhaps, this was what they called 'blessing in disguise.
On the other hand, Julius and the others who saw what Sakim had done, found themselves shivering in fear again as they finally lost their hope to live. Greed Manifestation? How could they fight someone capable of doing that?
Standing the Greed Domain was already barely possible for them. And now, as if it wasn't enough, the other party even showed them how to create a Greed Manifestation? No matter how they thought of it, this was just overkill.
"Master, we must escape from here..." Suddenly, a little figure appeared right in front of Julius. It was, of course, no other than Sintia, Julius' summoned spirit (pet).
Not long after she appeared, a violent cyclone appeared and surrounded the two of them trying to run away as soon as possible.
"Sintia..." Julius wanted to refute and reprimand Sintia for coming out again without him calling her. But seeing that the situation was going from bad to worse, Julius could only grit his teeth and said, "Alright."
Swoosh!
However, when the two were all ready to leave, the cyclone engulfing them, of which it was supposed to give them a huge buff of speed and some protective measures, suddenly disappeared without a trace. After it disappeared, a soft chuckle sounded, "Don't be in a hurry leaving me here..."
Who could it be other than Sakim? With just a simple swing of his right hand that was coated by the solidified Greed Energy, the cyclone made by Sintia disappeared as it appeared that he had just stolen it. Sakim was delighted again seeing that the stealing capability of the evolved form of his passive skill: Greed, (passive skill: Extreme Greed) was a lot better. He could even steal a thing even without touching it physically. Or perhaps, it was also because of the solidified Greed Energy that he coated on his right arm.
"Can't you stay here a bit longer?" Sakim asked with a devilish smile seeing that he prevented the other party from escaping.
However, instead of a reply, what Sakim had received was a wind spike coming from Sintia. It rushed towards Sakim trying to kill him without hesitation.
Sakim reacted quickly though. He blocked the wind spikes with his right arm as they were stolen and disappeared.
On the other hand, after sending the wind spike, Sintia engulfed Julius with her wind as she carried him and as they rushed their way out of Sakim's presence. She knew that her wind spike wouldn't do anything to Sakim. That said, she just used it as a distraction for their escape.
But Sintia didn't dare to be complacent though. Just after she turned to flee, she waved her hand as she summoned many violent tornados. There were five of them coming towards Sakim. Knowing that her master Julius was still terrified and still couldn't move properly due to the greed suppression he suffered previously, she could only rely on herself and do her everything to escape this predicament.
So upon summoning the tornadoes, the wind was angered as the weather began to frown. Lightning crawled in the dark clouds as if it wanted to kiss the ground already.
But then, it appeared that even after what she had done, it was still not enough to give the vessel some difficulty. Just after she summoned the five towering tornados, its existence didn't last for too long as it disappeared without a trace. The violent wind and bad weather had also calmed down shortly after that.
"Damn it," Sintia gritted her teeth. To think that one of her strongest skills would be stolen just like that. The Vessel of the Greed sin was surely terrifying.
So knowing that it would be difficult to escape here with her skills alone, Sintia turned to look at her master as she asked, "Master, I think we can't escape here with my skills alone. Let's hurry and just used Angel's Wing, shall we?"
Julius also knew that the situation was terrible. So without any hesitation, he nodded his head and responded, "Alright."
It was his last Angel's Wing that he prepared in case of utter urgency. And he knew well that now was the time to use it.
With that in mind, Julius summoned the System as he hurriedly looked for his Inventory. But when he saw it, he couldn't help spurting a mouthful of blood.
"Master! What happen?" Sintia stopped running away seeing that her master had suffered from something. Just what happened to him? Sintia was aware and knew that the vessel was still playing around and still didn't make a move against them while they were running away. So how come did her master act like that? Was there something she failed to detect as it attacked her master sneakily? Sintia couldn't help worrying the more she thought about it.
"My Inventory..." Julius muttered weakly as if he had just lost his hope to live.
"What happened?" Sintia asked.
"It's now empty... I have no more items left... I think all of it were stolen." Julius cried as his tears streamed down on his cheeks. The hard-earned possessions that he gathered for all the past years were lost just like that? Surely, nothing was more depressing than this.
