Chapter 93: To See The Fall Of The Vessel
Chapter 93: To See The Fall Of The Vessel
"This Greed Energy is surely astonishing..." Standing on top of a certain cliff, Robert narrowed his eyes seeing the Greed Domain from afar. He couldn't help being astounded feeling the Greed Energy emitting from it. Because although the vessel was supposed to be a low-level player, his Greed Energy could be compared to someone like him. How much more if he was given more time to absorb more Greed Energy and strengthen his own? Even Robert could only swallow a mouthful of saliva thinking about it.
In any case, from his position, Robert could see many players into the woods below rushing towards the location of the vessel. It was strange to see that instead of fear, he could see that it was excitement that took place in them.
So from below, Robert shifted his gaze at the sky in front of him trying to find something. And it didn't take long for him to see what he was looking for.
Floating in the midair somewhere in his line of sight, he saw a person having the beautiful wings of a butterfly. He was a man with a slim build clad in a gentleman suit. His wings would flap one at a time as he spread his wing scales down below. For some reason, it was as if these wing scales were affecting those players rushing into the woods.
When Robert stared at him, the other party seemed to notice him and stared at him as well. After which, he smiled seemingly trying to say hi.
"That butterfly is really a good support. He could easily turn the fear of anyone into courage... Surely, this would be a good show, don't you think so?"
However, as Robert was still staring at the butterfly guy flying in the sky, he suddenly heard a calm voice around him. He shifted his gaze to where the voice came from as there he saw another man. If he didn't put any attention on the other party, he would surely fail to detect him.
The guy he saw was sitting lazily at the very edge of the cliff with both of his hands on the ground, trying to support his upper body that was wanting to lie down. He looked like a youth in his early twenties and was quite handsome with his silver short hair. He looked short, about 5 feet in height. He only wore some kind of ordinary looking shorts, a plainly white t-shirt, and slippers, seemingly just strolling around in the area with the sole purpose of watching the good show that was about to transpire.
The only thing that looked luxurious from him was the ring he wore on his right middle finger. There was a small gemstone glowing slightly in red on top of the ring that gave dangerous vibes. It was as if warning anyone who would try to touch its owner to not make anything funny.
"What are you guys planning?" Robert asked coldly. He seemed to recognize the other party but it seemed as well that they weren't that close. And in fact, Robert even bore some hostility against this guy.
However, Robert was still waiting for a response when suddenly, he felt someone hugging him from behind. A moment later, a warm and joyful voice of a lady sounded on his ears.
"Robert! I didn't expect that you are here as well! I really miss you so much!"
It was a silver-haired lady with a stunning beauty. She was wearing a white dress that revealed how curvaceous her figure was. The smile on her lips was just too beautiful to see, reflecting on her emerald green eyes.
Robert suddenly found himself frowning with a darkened expressions. He already sensed the presence of this lady and the others coming in his direction. And he recognized them well. But who would have thought that this lady would be so bold enough to quickly hug him the moment she arrived. Surely, being too handsome was so depressing.
"Release me," Robert said nonchalantly. But he didn't move a little to try removing the other party's arms. Because he knew well how troublesome would it be if he forced the other party to do so. She might suddenly turn wild as he would be forced to deal with her again.
And that would cost him a bigger headache. Defeating her before had already cost him so much effort. He didn't want to deal with her anymore especially upon learning what kind of reward would he get if he won against her.
At first, he thought that it was some kind of peerless treasure that was why he was so eager to defeat her. But when he defeated her, who would have thought that the precious reward that he would get was actually to marry her? This was really against his will. He wanted to live as a free man and not to be tied down by any noble family. If possible, he didn't want to see her ever again or get involved with her in any way.
On the other hand, the lady behind him pouted her lips and retorted, "I don't want to!"
They had just met after a long time and this guy would be so cold at her? Just what in the world was so wrong with her for him to hate her like this? Her body was perfect that every man would want to. She was strong and could not easily be bullied. She was wealthy as well and had a very strong background. He could find everything from her and yet, this guy was still so choosy? No matter how she thought about it, this guy was just too unreasonable.
With that in mind, instead of freeing the other party, she tightened her embrace to him not wanting to release him anymore.
Robert suddenly felt lightheaded. This lady was really annoying. He really wanted to push her away already right now. Thankfully, before he could get even more annoyed, he heard another voice around. It was a deep voice and seemed strict. Robert really felt grateful that this man had finally arrived.
"Young lady, please watch your actions. If the other ladies from the other families find you doing this, they will surely make fun of you." The man who had just spoken was clad in a black suit. His appearance was in his mid-forties and wore a very serious expression.
"Hmph! Who cares about them?!" The young lady retorted coldly as she added afterward, "They are just jealous of me because I have found my forever."
With veins appearing on his forehead, the man in black forced a smile but his lips couldn't help twitching. He wanted to say something but he just couldn't find a right word to say.
Robert on the other hand just wanted to die already. What forever? Just who the hell was she talking about anyway?
"Alright, alright, that's enough lady Diane. You can have more time doing that when the matter is over." This time, it was a voice of a woman. This woman was in her early thirties and no doubt to be gorgeous as well. She was also wearing a black suit as it appeared that she too was there to watch over Diane.
The young lady named Diane gritted her teeth. But as reluctant as she was, she could only free Robert from her embrace as she said, "Fine!"
After which, she stamped her feet as she went beside Robert to see what was happening down there. She then crossed her arms under her chest as she saw the bunch of trashes running to their death. But her head was still puffing out smoke as it appeared that she was still frustrated. Thankfully, when she shifted her gaze at Robert and saw his face, her frustrations had immediately turned into a sweet smile.
Robert on the other hand heaved a sigh of relief when this lady had finally freed him from her arms. But when he unwittingly shifted his gaze at her, and saw her smiling at him, he immediately looked away with slight blush. With a cough, he said, "It seems like I have some important business to attend to. So I will leave now and say goodbye to you all."
Robert then turned around and made a step forward.
"Where do you think you are going?"
However, just after Robert made a step, he suddenly heard the angry voice of Diane. But since it would be troublesome to stay there any longer, he didn't pay any attention on her call as he took another step forward.
"So you don't want to know anymore why we are here?" Diane suddenly spoke with her smug face. As if she was so proud to have such a card to force Robert to stay.
Robert then halted his steps after hearing the other party. He wanted to walk away as soon as possible and as far away as could be. But knowing their intention was just too important for him to leave just like that. He wanted to make sure if the top families were really here to try destroying Greedland using the vessel. If that was the case, then he must surely do his best to stop their scheme.
So as reluctant as he was, Robert turned around to look at Diane. But before he could even ask what their intention was, the other party had immediately hugged him again and fell to his chest. After a moment, she said, "I know you won't leave me. I love you too."
"Just tell me why are you here," Robert said helplessly.
"Tsk!" Diane clicked her tongue in dejection as she released him from her embrace. After which, she gazed at the location of the vessel as she responded with her arms crossed, "We are here to see the fall of the vessel."
