Chapter 34
Evil laughter echoed in the chamber. After some time, it died down.
Riri and Diana were kneeling in front of Jake. They didn’t have the same apprehension in their gazes. After being corrupted, Jake was their one true master now.
“Go find Perry. She’s here.”
They looked at each other in surprise after hearing him. If it was before, they would’ve tried saving the priestess. But now, they just obeyed what he said.
After those two went, Jake and Yunna also left the chamber. As they began climbing the floors, Yunna asked, “What will we do outside, master?”
She was excited to see what this world looked like. She had been outside the dungeon, but never gone far.
“We’re going to corrupt some priests,” Jake replied with a smile.
During his stay in Erpis, he had learned that every village had a priest who did holy rites, and guided the people during important occasions like marriages or funerals.
Priests had an even greater status than the village leaders because they could perform miracles.
“What then, after corrupting the priests?” Yunna was interested in her master’s shenanigans.
They stepped on the sixth floor. The Hell Knight, Keirth, stood up to acknowledge his master. Jake nodded and chatted with Yunna.
“Do you know why the rumor failed? Because there is no credibility.”
“However, with a priest the rumors can beー”
“Tch tch…” Jake shook his head and covered her alluring lips with his forefinger.
“This time, there won’t be any rumors. There will be revelations!” Jake walked ahead with quick movements and Yunna followed.
“These villagers worship one god and they put all their faith in their religion. When the priests say that they have gotten a divine revelation, will they dismiss it like a rumor?”
Yunna couldn’t help but gasp hearing her master. She would have never thought of it. Her master usually kept things to himself and never told her about his true plans. That had made her think he didn’t fully trust her.
Yunna felt unbound happiness when her master told her about this. She knew he had changed and liked him more now.
However, she didn’t know that this was only a small part of Jake’s plan. With the corrupted priests, he was going to establish a cult here. Jake’s true motive was to manipulate the villagers and enslave them.
…
Outside of the dungeon, Yunna stood and looked at Jake as his appearance changed.
Going from a tall and terrifying demon to be a sharp-faced man in his mid-twenties. Holding a staff and wearing a white robe. He had become Matthew, the priest!
Everything now seemed holy about him, except that he didn’t have any divine powers at all.
“Let’s hide this.” Jake touched Yunna’s small horns and, to her surprise, they disappeared.
He could use [Body Transformation] on others as well. Hiding Yunna’s horns and tail cost him an extra 40 mana. However, her beautiful human look was worth it.
Without those parts, she didn’t have that evil demonic charm, but her perfectly sculpted hourglass figure could still make any man go wild.
Jake’s rod rose just by staring at her for some time. However, he knew now was not the time. As a succubus, she usually only covered little parts of her body. But she couldn’t walk like this around others, so Jake made her wear a cape.
The first village he went to was, of course, Erpis. However, they got stopped at the village’s gates. Only when the village’s guards recognized it was the priest adventurer did they let the outsiders in.
After what Johnny did, they were cautious about letting anyone inside the village.
“Where are the others?” one boy asked.
He kept looking at Yunna. Who was this beautiful lady? She looked like a princess.
“They’ll come in some time later. Lead us to Father Noah. We have to inform him of an urgent matter,” Jake replied in a grave tone.
Someone came beside the boy and started talking. However, Jake urged and even warned them.
”It’s about the dungeon, something has happened!”
By now, quite a few people had surrounded them. Hearing the word dungeon made their faces go pale. This didn’t sound good. These adventurers were seeking Father Noah. It must be something evil. Maybe one priest couldn’t handle it.
A few people led Jake and Yunna to the priest’s house. These days, Father Noah had recovered from his illness and was fit. After the marriage ceremony, he had done no rituals as of lately other than worshiping the light at the chapel.
Father Noah’s house was near the chapel of God of Light. It was made of stones and roof tiles. Noah Edwards lived alone in this place. However, children always liked to visit him.
Today, he was playing with some orphans on his lawn when he saw people approaching. He patted the children and told them to play elsewhere. They ran like deers, laughing in childish joy.
”Father!”
”Father Noah, they bring some heavy news!”
The villagers shouted, making way for Jake and Yunna. The priest narrowed his eyes as he saw the two adventurers. He was beyond 60 and had great intuition. Something about the boy and girl didn’t feel right to him…
Jake had seen the priest during Yahul’s marriage. White hair, white eyebrows, wrinkled cheeks and a bald head. Always wearing white priestly robes and wooden clogs.
”Praise the Light.” Jake made a cross sign and prayed half-heartedly.
The priest did the same, albeit solemnly. He then asked, ”What brings you here?”
”We have been told to tell you something by our captain,” Jake replied, furrowing his brows. He acted tense.
The priest nodded and told him to come in. Yunna looked at Jake and followed. The villagers outside left to inform their families.
Inside Father Noah’s humble house, Jake and Yunna looked around. Yunna was especially curious, seeing the small holy figurines on a desk. She didn’t go to touch them, though.
”Hah…” the priest sighed. He knew this day would come. Ever since that unholy dungeon appeared, things weren’t peaceful here at all.
”Are the monsters now comingー”
He meant to ask, but froze as soon as he turned around. Standing behind him was not a young priest, but a-a…
”Demon!”
”Indeed.” Jake smirked as a dark shadow appeared in his eyes.
