Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 310 - Three Corpses

Klautz walked away, not bothering with Gozoto's falsehoods any longer. But he stopped as Gozoto pressed onto his shoulder. His eyes glared into Klautz's soul.

"I hope that you won't be regretting this decision later." Gozoto had certainly broken down to threats at this point.

His domineering strength pressed onto Klautz's feeble one. Klautz was having a hard time to breathe under his pressure but he persisted. In the end, Klautz shook his head as he shrugged.

"You are pretty dense aren't you? Don't you get it by now?"

Gozoto's brows creased at witnessing Klautz;s smirking face.

"What do you mean?"

" I can't join your guild cause I am under Akihiko's wing."

Klautz stared into Gozoto's eyes. There must be no falsehood in his words. Confidence really speaks for itself. And Klautz didn't lie either. It was a convenient excuse to put off a powerhouse like Gozoto.

Klautz was a representative for the ninjas, at least for now. And being a representative meant that he had to be among the top guilds and should not be in a smaller one. After all, most of the clients came from the top brass of the    society. Klautz naturally didn't have the leeway to join a small guild.

A silence overtook both of them as many images flashed across Gozoto's mind.

"You, don't tell me…"

Gozoto's pupils shook as he started fixing the puzzle together. The broken pieces that seemed to completed unrelated suddenly found the perfect place in his chain of memories.

*sigh*

Klautz sighed.

'I am seriously disappointed.'

Gozoto should have figured out such things by now. He had all the clues to do it! Akihiko defending Klautz when Gozoto tried to capture him on the murder and run incident… Klautz's unusual and explosive growth thanks to Maebi… all pointed to this very thing. These were the concrete proofs if not for the minor ones which might go unnoticed. After all, Klautz having no roommate was certainly not normal.

'If he can't even figure out such a simple thing, then he is truly a fool.'

Klautz could help but think of Akihiko as a dense mercenary. He had no qualities that a good leader should have. He can never match up to someone like Ronald.

'How can I join such a guild? If the guild master himself is so thick headed? Such a guild has no future.'

Klautz shook his head. His intervention might have driven Gozoto to draw in members for his guild… something that shouldn't have happened. But that didn't mean that it would be standing its own ground.

Klautz slipped out of Gozoto's grasp, who was left in a daze as he pushed open the door to his own room. There was nothing to discuss here anymore.

*Bam*

Klautz left the lane, leaving behind only Gozoto in the dark hallway who stood there with no words spoken. It seemed that Klautz's ties with Akihiko had a much greater impact on the man than it should have been predicted by Klautz.

Technically, Klautz's refusal wouldn't have affected his guild much. The participation of a single newbie hardly mattered in the large scheme of things. But this new piece of information had left Gozoto thinking hard at what to do.

Klautz's connections with Gozoto certainly seemed fishy to him.

"Don't tell me… does that Akihiko knows of my plans?"

Of course, matters weren't as simple as they seemed on the outside.

"Who could do such a thing?" one of the newbies squeaked, biting off his nails.

"Damn, I knew that these people were fucked up! We should not have ever relied on them."

Three bodies lay on top of three crosses. The smell of rotten flesh had long permeated the air indicating their deaths. The only thing that supported the bodies of the three were the vines that were restraining them holding them from falling down as they tied them to the crosses.

"This is really bad, should we do anything?"

An internal sense of fear had triggered in all of them. They had seen many such deaths in the tutorial zone. But ever since they had come to the newbie camp things were certainly peaceful. It was indeed a haven.

Little did they know of the deaths that were happening behind their back. After all, just a few days ago there was literally a homicidal murderer on the loose. Things were kept well hidden from the public.

But today  thanks to Klautz, the land seemed to have shifted off their feet as they were once again brought to reality. He memories back from the tutorial zone where they had watched their comrades die became fresh all of a sudden.

The three of the dead bodies stood out a lot because of the blood that dripped from their body. While the two others on either side had their body intact, the one in the middle had both of his hands chopped off.

But that wasn't the only thing that was heinous about them.  They were the epitome of gruesomeness enough to drive every audience standing there to have nightmares about them.

They had no eyes! But hollow sockets in place of them, while their eyeballs dangled from the end of the cross. The eyes seemed to peer into the audience as they created the greatest horrors among them.

"Are we really safe?"

Cusses and cries were ever present among the group as they gazed on the horrid sight presented in front of them. Had it been a month or two ago they would have been shaking in their legs and pissed their pants at such an event..

It seemed that the world of hell had made them a bit more resilient to watching humans die.

"Mommy, I want to see!"

"No, you shouldn't"

It was clear who the culprit behind all of this was. It was like they were howling to the whole world of who it was, for the bodies were enacted in front of Yukiho's banner.
