Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 230 - 'F' Ranked Representative

Evelyn loosened her curled-up body as only her hands curled into a fist instead. While Klautz leaned closer to Verona and stole her lips.

Verona's eyes widened in surprise as the kiss was the last thing she was expecting in such a heavy situation.

"Take care," Klautz whispered in her ears as he smiled.

"See you soon."

Verona said as she waved the both of them causing Klautz to smile all the more.

'At least I have someone now who bids me farewell before going on a mission.' Klautz thought.

Evelyn left while Klautz followed behind her like a shadow. It was unknown to Evelyn, but behind Klautz two more professionals followed behind them as they headed for [Horned Forest].

"Damn!" Gozoto slammed his fist on his table causing its contents to jump up in the air. He was going through several records on both of his hands with a frown on his face.

*Knock* Knock*

"Can I come in?" a voice called out.

Gozoto knew that voice and he could only roll his eyes in annoyance at the appearance of 'him' at such a busy hour.

"Come in," Gozote cried without shifting his gaze on his record.

He took up his pen and signed those documents as if he was in mortal peril and this was the only way to get out of it.

*swish**

The door opened and a man walked in with a smirk on his face that he was unwilling to hide. It was time for his daily dose of Gozoto tonnin. Ty finds quite the joy in witnessing Gozoto's face distorted in anger and it was his daily entertainment for joy.

Ty had a short structure with a weak constitution. To Gozoto, he was the weakest resident that he had ever seen and yet he couldn't afford to punch his smirking face.

He wouldn't dare. After all, the man represented and was backed by the greatest ninja association in hell for the newbie drill.

"What do you want now?" Gozoto scoffed. "I will give you your payment at the decided time."

"Pfft, looks like you are in quite a pinch at the moment to be disturbed." He continued, "What happened? Was another one of the newbies killed?"

Kishiogakure was indeed meticulous with what it was doing. It wouldn't have been able to survive the backlash from the powerhouses had the deaths been caused by their own ninjas. But the murders are being forced to be done by a newbie instead. No one could blame Kishiogakure and the newbie in question could be killed anytime. There was a popular saying among the ninjas - 'Only the dead can keep secrets'. And such was the fate that awaited Evelyn.

But contrary to what the man expected, Gozoto didn't react to that statement. He kept staring at him instead as his eyes squinted.

'What's wrong?' the man thought.

"According to the reports no one has died tonight," Gozoto continued. "Thanks, I will make sure that you are properly compensated."

The words that Gozoto said caused Ty's ears to twitch. He was indeed shocked at that piece of news for he was expecting many to die. But the expression of shock never showed up on his face.

There was a reason why he was chosen to be a representative of the ninjas even though he was incredibly weak compared to his peers. And that was exactly because he was good at negotiation and putting the ninjas to proper use.

Putting up an act or two and controlling his fervent emotions from showing up on his face was like child's play for him.

But his heart was in turmoil.

'No, this shouldn't have happened.'

Akihiko didn't know this and neither did Klautz but the man knew better. The deaths that have happened so far weren't simply Kishiogakure playing around with their small competitor. That just came as a side benefit. If that were really the case, Kishiogakure wouldn't have bothered to take such high risks for such low returns. Rather it had much deeper reasons. Reasons that were confidential and couldn't be revealed.

"I am glad that you like our service,' the man replied with a business like smile.

What else could he do? He can't do anything before properly looking into the matter.

'I need to meet that girl. But first…'

"Then what are you so worried about Goxoto? Your anger is clearly showing up on your face."

Gozoto rolled his eyes as he began rambling.

"Damn, it's really annoying you know. It's hella annoying. Every year this causes me migraines. The Second gens would be coming today and I have so much work to do. I have to clear up the third floor… set up the stadiums, hire new mercenaries and increase levels of protection and so much more. The list never seems to end."

The man smiled.

'That is what happens when you slack off in your work.'

But the phrase 'hire new mercenaries' seemed like a good business opportunity in his ears.

'Is it my opportunity to increase my rank in the village?'

The 'Representatives' had their own system of ranking akin to the ninja. The higher the ranking the more were the privileges, it was indeed something to look forward to for a weak man like him who could only leach off of others in the world of hell where strength dominates it all!

The man clasped his hands.

"You know you can just rely on our ninja…"

"I can't trust"

"Sorry?"

The man tilted his head.

"I have zero trust in you guys."

That is what Gozoto felt after the series of events that took place. Today they chased off Akihiko. Who would be next? Wouldn't it be him? He knew what their intentions were.

The ninjas should never gain control over the newbie camp otherwise it would amount to nothing but a huge bloody mess.
