Chapter 52 - Have Mutual Blessing
When the time is 00:35 a.m Dean has arrived at his house. He immediately got out of the car and glanced around which looked deserted, then walked to the main door of his house and immediately knocked on it.
Knock ... knock ... knock!
"Kareen, it's me, Dean!" exclaimed Dean as he knocked on the door.
until several minutes of waiting, the door finally opened. He saw Kareen who looked like just woke up. "Did you just wake up?" he asked as he entered the house.
"Yes, but ... mom is sleeping now," Kareen replied a little nervously.
Dean, who had already walked into the living room, turned to look at Kareen who was following him. "Have you been just sleeping since earlier?" he asked investigating.
"Of course not!" Kareen replied a little annoyed. "Do you think I'm lying? why would I lie when the fact is that your mother had fainted a long time?"
"I'm not accusing you, Kareen. But why are you telling me like I'm accusing you of lying? Or ... Could it be that you just lied to me so that I came here?" Dean glared at Kareen.
Yes, of course. He came back all the way and found that his mother was just sleeping, not fainting. That was a good right and the man was grateful that his mother was fine, but he hated being lied to the most.
"I'm not lying, if you don't believe it, just look at your mother in the room. She's so limp!" exclaimed Kareen irritably.
Dean exhaled roughly, then walked into the living room and led to the door of his mother's room.
"Mom, it's me, Dean," said Dean, knocking on the door.
"Come in!" There was a voice shouting from inside.
Dean immediately turned the door handle and opened it. he saw his mother lying on a medium-sized bed with a blue sheet with a swan motif on it.
"Are you okay, Mom?" asked Dean as he walked over to his mother.
"I'm fine Dean," said Lily as she leaned against the pile of pillows. "Did you manage to bring Sofia home?"
Dean sat on the edge of the bed to be precise on the left side of his mother's leg. "I've taken her out of Gustave's house. Now she's sleeping at Bryana's," he replied.
"Staying there?" Lily looked upset.
"Yes, mom. It's safer there. maybe she will stay there starting tonight too," explained Dean while massaging his mother's feet slowly.
"Live there? Wouldn't that bother you? Bryana would also be troubled because Sofia was so spoiled with her." Lily looked unsure.
Dean sighed, looked down for a moment to gather his courage to say about his plans to marry Bryana. He straightened his head back and looked at his wrinkled mother.
"I'm going to marry Bryana, Mom," said Dean.
Suddenly Lily paused with a strange feeling in her heart. she feels like Bryana who is humble and loves Sofia, but she doubts because Bryana comes from the upper class and is almost the same as the late Clarissa who came from a wealthy family background with many enemies.
"Dean, are you sure? what if the family doesn't bless you? what if .... " Lily's words stopped because Dean immediately objected.
"Mom, I can't avoid it anymore. she assured me that her family would agree and I also really wanted her to be my wife," explained Dean sadly. "About my past with Clarissa, Mommy don't worry. Not all rich people have many enemies and then kill each other. Bryana and I will be fine because all that has been bothering Bryana is that her ex-husband wants to snatch Calvin away from her. "
Lily sighed and looked disappointedly at Dean, but she couldn't do anything because her son had the right to make his own choice. "Mommy is not comfortable with Kareen. She came and moved here because she wanted to approach you because she wanted you to marry her. She has even loved Sofia for a long time, paid attention to you too. Don't you think about her feelings?"
"I never promised a feeling or a relationship to her, Mom. I repeatedly emphasized that I have considered her like my own sister, I can't love her." Dean remembers when Sofia met Bryana for the first time. "And if Sofia wanted Kareen to be her mother, Sofia could have called Kareen as 'mommy' but she immediately wanted to call 'mommy' to Bryana. We all have a match, Mom. God has shown it to us."
Lily looked at Dean who was very determined to be with Bryana. She also remembers when Dean was frustrated by the death of Clarissa, not a single woman who could make him excited again to continue his married life. and at this time, his son is very excited to live a new life with a woman who has just loved.
"Okay, I will bless you. But make sure before and that her family also accepts you," Lily exclaimed, smiling warmly.
Dean nodded and immediately hugged his mother "What passes is gone, Mom. And I won't let anything bad happen to Bryana or anyone I care about."
Lily nodded as she rubbed Dean's back. for her, seeing Dean revive and have the confidence to build a household like a man in general, was happy too.
___
From behind the door, Kareen, who was secretly overhearing Dean and Lily's conversation, burst into tears. Yes, she cried with disappointment. During this time her kindness to them did not get the return she wanted.
"You didn't have the heart, Dean. I've even sacrificed a lot for you but you don't understand my feelings and desires at all!" Kareen burst into tears and walked back to her room.
____
Bryana, who can't sleep because she thinks about her family, will give her blessing or not and think Dean will get the blessing of his mother or not. She also glanced at Sofia, who was sleeping soundly and her face looked peaceful.
"Sometimes I think, why are you a little similar to me?" Bryana stared at Sofia's face that bore a little resemblance to her. Especially the nose and eyes.
Drett ... Drettt ...
Her smartphone, which was on the bedside nightstand, rang. Bryana immediately took it and saw an incoming call from Dean. She smiled, and immediately answered the call.
"Hello, Honey" Bryana ventured to deal with him as "Honey"
"I've got mother's blessing," said Dean from the phone, sounding so enthusiastic.
"Really?" Bryana was taken aback.
"Yes. If you don't mind, I want us to meet her and have a chat together over the weekend."
"Hey, of course, I don't mind. "
"But ...." this time Dean sounded uneasy.
"But why?" Bryana asked, frowning.
"I'm not relieved if I haven't received the blessing of your family," replied Dean.
"I'll call my father tonight and I make sure he will bless our relationship because you are a good man, much better than Alex. my father will agree," Bryana assured.
"Okay, then, I'll turn off the phone first. I have to get back right away/"
"If you're tired, it's okay to come home tomorrow morning, Honey," Bryana exclaimed.
"No, I'm going home now."
"All right then, be careful on the road. I love you!"
"I love you, too!"
the telephone connection was lost. Bryana immediately contacted her father who was in London. "Father must give my blessing. Or I will never forgive him for throwing me into this city for no apparent reason. But I'm also lucky because here I can find my love."
"Hello, Dad," Bryana said when she connected with her father.
"Hello, Dear. It's not unusual for you to call dad," said a man from the phone.
"I just wanted to let you know that I'm getting married soon."
"You're getting married again? Who is your future husband?"
"Dean Jackson, he is my bodyguard. And I don't want you to reject it, because if you refuse, I'll never see you again," Bryana exclaimed casually.. yes, she was very disappointed in her father who forced her to move to Jakarta for reasons that are not clear, until she felt like she was being ostracized as family.
