Chapter 41 - Crazy About You!
Dean and Bryana have breakfast at the Japanese-style restaurant inside the mall. They ordered some Japanese specialties and waited while chatting on the farthest seat near the glass wall with cherry blossoms.
"By the way, how many guests are we going to invite? Please write down so I can send the notes to Monica." Bryana handed over the small book and pen she had taken from her purse.
Dean swallowed his saliva. He stared at the book in silence, then looked back at Bryana. "I do not know. Sofia predicts how many friends she will invite."
Bryana sighed, massaging her forehead from the dizziness. "Is Sofia home now?" She asked.
Dean glanced at his black watch, then replied, "She's still in school. Maybe in an hour or two, she'll be home. "
Bryana nodded in understanding. "We'll go to your house after she comes home from school. We'll ask who she wants to invite. Meanwhile, let's eat first because I'm hungry."
Dean nodded in agreement.
After a few minutes of waiting, the order came and the waiter arranged the food and drinks on a white table with a candle decoration in a small saucer in the middle.
"You ordered a lot. I think your portion is a little because we usually eat together and I see that you only eat a little rice." Dean stared at the table filled with various types of Japanese food. Starting from Sushi, Teriyaki, tempura, ramen noodles, okonomiyaki, dorayaki cakes, and drinks in the form of typical tea. Japan.
"Sometimes, I want to eat a lot." Bryana sighed, then took out chopsticks. "I'll eat with you too. Because if I eat all this for myself, my stomach will explode."
Dean chuckled at Bryana, who turned out to be a big fan of eating. He immediately took chopsticks and ate the sushi filled with shrimp, then dipped it in the sauce and devoured it.
"Have you ever taken Sofia to a place like this to eat?" Bryana asked with her mouth full of food.
"No," replied Dean with a shy smile. "I have to reach deep enough in my pocket to eat here."
"Next time we have to take her, along with Calvin too. Must be fun," Bryana exclaimed and then ate sushi with sauce again.
Dean smiled grimly at Bryana who looked even cuter as her cheeks puffed up a little because her mouth was full of sushi. He immediately chuckled when he saw that there was sauce left on the corner of the beautiful employer's lips.
"Hey, why are you laughing at me?" Bryana asked in protest.
"There's a stain in here," Dean replied as he rubbed the corners of Bryana's lips with his firm fingers.
Bryana blushed and immediately shook her head. "So shy...!" She grumbled.
"It's a human thing," said Dean with a faint smile.
Bryana and Dean ate together for about an hour. after that they immediately loaded their groceries into the car, then took them to Dean's house.
During the trip, Bryana looked relaxed staring at the view from the windshield. Sometimes she hums to follow Hary style's song entitled "Sign of the Time" which is played via MP3 in the car.
"Oh yes, who picked up your daughter?" Bryana asked as she turned her head at Dean who was focused on driving.
"My mom," Dean briefly relaxed.
"What are they getting on?" Bryana asked again.
"Usually take a bus, because my house is located in quite deep and far from the school," explained Dean occasionally glancing at Bryana.
Bryana nodded in understanding and thought of picking up daughter's Dean because since she had eaten together until now on her way, it had almost passed 90 minutes.
"Let's just pick her up. Aren't we going to pass the school?"
"Yes, we will go through there," explained Dean. Suddenly he remembered his mother's warning not to let him get too close to Bryana.
Ah, but that was all he couldn't prevent and surely his mother wouldn't be able to avoid Bryana's selfless ascension either. unlike Kareen who helps a lot just because he likes Dean.
Arriving at Sofia's school, Dean and Bryana got out of the car and walked towards the school gate which was still closed.
Bryana frowned when she saw that the school, which consists of several rooms, is neatly lined up and is very simple but lacks facilities. There is no place to play, the paint on the walls of each class looks so worn like it hasn't been repainted for a long time, the gates are rusty. In essence, it was as if the school had not been renovated for a long time.
"Dean," Bryana called.
"Yes," said Dean.
"I want to come in, meet the leader here. Can you accompany me?" Bryana asked sadly, staring at the school.
"Of course, come on," said Dean with a smile.
Bryana and Dean walked into the gate which was only guarded by a middle-aged man. they walked through the courtyard where on the right side there was a canteen which was not too big but was crowded with mothers waiting for their children to come home from school.
Lily was staring at Dean who was walking behind Bryana towards the principal's room.
"What is Dean with his employer? My God, she's so beautiful and ... and why is she here?"
"Isn't that your son, Mrs. Lily?" asked a woman who sat on a bench with Lily.
"Yeah, maybe he's escorting his employer," said Lily while staring at Dean, who was about 20 meters away from her until she couldn't be seen again because her son had entered the principal's room.
"Wow, I thought that woman was his girlfriend. Dean had been a widower for a long time, should have remarried and the woman is very harmonious with him." The woman beside Lily also acknowledged the harmony of Dean and Bryana.
"Ah, that's impossible. Dean is just doing his job as a bodyguard," said Lily with an awkward smile. She was getting restless and afraid that what the woman beside her said would come true. 'Oh my God, I hope they are only close as bodyguards and employer' she exclaimed to herself.
___
In the principal's room, Dean was standing behind Bryana who was sitting in a chair opposite the principal, across from a dark brown table.
"So, this school was once hit by a flood and hasn't been renovated yet?" Bryana asked in surprise.
"Yes, ma'am. The old school administrator has fled with the money for renovations provided by the government," explained the principal, bending his face. There was a tinge of sadness on his face. "Initially we were going to close this school because it was not feasible. but because of the support from residents who provided financial assistance, this school is still open and is being repaired little by little," he continued.
Bryana nodded in understanding, then took a small booklet of pens from his bag. he wrote a note of 3000$ in the checkbook, then gave it to the principal.
"For the cost of renovation. Please make this school more feasible and beautiful, equipped with all the most needed facilities. If you are short on funds, you can contact me." Bryana also gave his name card which contains gained home address, office, and telephone number.
The principal was surprised in disbelief at the nominal stated on the check, then he looked at Bryana, who had never even come to the school at all. "Oh my God, am I not dreaming. This is more than enough in fact for renovations."
"I think it will be lacking if it is completely renovated and transformed into such a big and beautiful school. I will bring my assistant to monitor it," Bryana said with a sincere smile.
"Oh my God. Thank you for helping. I will make this school the way you want it." The principal who is a middle-aged man looks so happy.
"Not my wish, sir. but I am sure, all the kids here want their school to be renovated to be as comfortable as possible," said Bryana straightforwardly, because she wants to help and understand that if the school is bad, the students rely not on be comfortable. Moreover, it is a kindergarten school and has many students, the majority of which are from the closest town, who are of the lower class, including Sofia.
Dean, who had been behind Bryana, was just staring at Bryana from behind. 'Kind, pretty, humble, sincere, and a little wild. How could I not fall in love with a wonderful woman like you? Jill.. From this day on I have to admit that I am crazy about you.'
