Chapter 37 - Sick Bodyguard
That morning, a beautiful employer who was ready to go to the office, instead became an impromptu waitress for her beloved bodyguard. Who else if not Bryana, who is crazy about Dean. The young mother carried a tray filled with a glass of milk and two sandwiches to the room of her sick bodyguard.
Lauren and Louis are driving and guarding Calvin to school, while Bryana decides not to go to the office and chooses to work from home. this feels easy for her because she already has a personal assistant who can help her with everything, namely Monica.
Bryana enters Dean's room and walks over to him, giving him breakfast.
"Before the doctor comes, you better have breakfast," Bryana exclaimed as she put the tray containing the breakfast menu on the bedside table.
"You shouldn't do this for me, Jill." Dean stared at Bryana awkwardly.
Bryana let out a rough breath. "Don't always think of yourself as just my bodyguard. I sincerely do this, because from the start we agreed to be friends, right?"
"Yes. I'll eat now," said Dean, nodding. He immediately took a sandwich, then ate it little by little.
Bryana looked at the small photo on Dean's left. She was curious and asked, "whose photo is that?"
"My late wife," replied Dean.
Bryana nodded in understanding and curiosity to see what a typical woman Dean tastes like came to mind. "May I see?"
dean was silent for a moment, then smiled and nodded. "Of course," she exclaimed.
Bryana grabbed the photo and stared at it. in that photo she saw a beautiful woman wearing a white overalls dress with floral motifs, sitting on a chair in the garden and smiling staring at the photograph. So, that woman could see as if smiling at her. what a peaceful smile and the woman is so graceful that it makes the viewer amazed.
"Very beautiful. No wonder you can't find a replacement," said Bryana and then returned the photo to Dean.
"It is difficult, but I will find a replacement without forgetting it she is like a best friend, lover, wife, sister ... and she means a lot to me. But unfortunately, God has another wish by taking her from me," said Dean while staring at the photo for a while, then continued eating the sandwich.
Bryana looked pityingly at Dean who must have been devastated when he lost his wife. Like when she found out that Alex did not sincerely love her and instead only took advantage of her, taking part of her property, even being ambivalent. at that time she felt like she had lost the love that had accompanied her for several years.
"I'm sure. Someday, you will find a woman who deserves to replace your late wife. she will be very lucky to have a husband like you," said Bryana, then got up from the edge of the bed and was about to walk out of the room.
"Jill," said Dean suddenly.
Bryana turned her head to look at Dean, then asked, "why?"
Dean was silent and didn't know what to say because he wanted to say that he wanted Bryana. But he felt insecure again when he remembered who he was.
"Thank you," said Dean awkwardly.
"Oh, yes. I have to go to my study room, now. because I'm going to be working from home," Bryana said, then immediately walked out because she was lazy to see Dean who was constantly thankful and insensitive.
---
In the office, Monica is doing her job as Bryana's assistant who isn't going to the office. She sent some data that her boss had to check via email.
Kareen, who plays Monica's secretary and cousin, feels free to enter Bryana's office and meet Monica there.
"Monica," Kareen said.
"Hi, Kareen. Mrs. Bryana didn't leave today. There are obstacles, she said, I will replace her for the meeting," said Monica while staring at the laptop.
Kareen sighs then sit down on the chair opposite Monica's desk. she thought of Dean who danced last night with Bryana making her wonder how close they had been. The girl glanced at her cousin who was actively working.
"Monica."
"Hmm." Monica is still focused on staring at her laptop.
"Do you think that Mrs. Bryana and her bodyguard have a special relationship more than the boss and the guard?" asked Kareen with a probing gaze.
Monica looks at Kareen who is curious about the closeness of Dean and Bryana. She shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know, but they like each other. I can see from the look on their faces when they are together, especially last night they danced. Ughhh ... how nice."
Kareen let out a rough breath and looked jealousy. "I never thought Dean would come back to like a woman who was great than him, even so unequal. He didn't give up at all."
"So what? Do you know something about Dean?" asked Monica with an eyebrow raised.
"In the past, Dean's wife was the son of a conglomerate. who the real name of her in-laws I forgot. What is certain is that their relationship was not sanctioned and their marriage was without the presence of a woman's family," explained Kareen seriously.
"So, Dean is a married man?" Monica looked surprised.
"Yes, but his wife died a long time ago," explained Kareen, then got out of her chair. "If they're really in a relationship, I doubt Mrs. Bryana's family will accept Dean who is just a bodyguard."
Monica is silent trying to digest Kareen's words as if she doesn't like seeing the closeness of Dean and Bryana. "I don't think it's a problem if a bodyguard marries his master, as long as it's not just aiming for his wealth."
____
Doctor Dante has arrived at Bryana's house. he was immediately escorted by a household assistant to Dean's room.
Bryana immediately came out of her study room and saw Dean who was being examined. "Are there any serious injuries, Doc?" She asked worriedly.
"Nothing, just the possibility of bruising on the stomach or intestine will prescribe medicine to relieve the pain and hopefully get better without having to take big steps," explained to the doctor as he packed the stethoscope and other equipment into his black bag, then he sat on the edge of the bed and wrote down what kinds of medicine were needed for Dean's healing in a small book.
Dean was still silent watching the doctor who was writing, as well as Bryana, who occasionally glanced at Dean who had been injected into his buttocks. Uhh, it must be sick.
"This is the prescription. You can buy it at the pharmacy, and if the fever and pain do not subside after taking the medicine, he should be taken to the hospital for treatment," explained the doctor while handing over a small paper containing several types of drug names.
"Okay," Bryana said as she picked up the little piece of paper.
Dr. Dante breathed a sigh of relief and then got out of bed and carried a bag containing examination equipment. "Then excuse me," he said goodbye.
Dr. Dante shakes Dean and Bryana, then immediately exits the room.
"You rest, Dean. And I'll be working from home," Bryana cried after confirming Dr. Dante's out.
"Sorry, huh? Because of me, you canceled your work." Dean felt guilty and bent his face.
"This is commonplace There are times when someone is not always healthy and strong, like you who look very pale. Get well soon. "Bryana smiled and massaged Dean's feet for a while, then got out of bed.
"I'll ask the driver to buy medicine for you," Bryana said before leaving.
Dean only responded with a warm smile and nodded. Somehow he could distance himself or control himself if Bryana was very concerned about him.
