Chapter 7: Immortal
Chapter 7: Immortal
The footsteps approached. Soon, a shadow covered Little Kun, allowing him to finally see the man who had caused him to fall.
The man was about fifty years old. He had dirty short gray hair, a gray beard, eyebrows, and a pair of gray eyes that he had never seen before.
"My guess is right." Before Little Kun could continue to observe, the man who was looking down on him suddenly spoke. His tone was filled with a hint of fanaticism, and the corners of his lips gradually curved up. He could not suppress his excitement and continued, "Your body is really magical. You woke up early."
"M-sir, what, what happened to me?" The actor, Kun, looked confused and asked in a weak tone.
The man's expression did not change. He continued to look down at the child for a while, then suddenly straightened up and looked up with a smile.
He lowered his head to look at Kun again. The man maintained a smile on his face and looked at Kun's confused expression with relish for a moment. Then, he shook his head and said, "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter, child."
After saying that, the man turned around and stood in front of the long table on the right side of the wall. He began to tinker with some bottles and jars while saying without looking back, "Wait a moment, child. You don't have to say anything. Just wait for a while. In a while, I will know everything I want to know from you."
The corner of Little Kun's left eye twitched, and he put away the expression on his face. He glanced in the direction of the man and cursed in his heart. He couldn't see what the man was doing.
After a while, the child had no choice but to say, "What exactly do you want to do to me?"
"Oh?" The man paused and looked back at him. Then he turned back to work. At the same time, he said, "It doesn't matter. You don't have to answer me now. After all, I won't treat you as a real 10-year-old child."
"How do you know that I am 10 years old?" A trace of confusion flashed through Little Kun's eyes.
"There are many ways to let me know." The man did not answer, but half-heartedly answered.
"Can I ask about my fate?" Little Kun continued to raise the topic. "Will I be in danger?"
"That depends on how much value I will get from you, child." The man said without turning his head back.
"Alright..." Taking a deep breath, Little Kun asked, "What do you want to know? Can you ask me directly? After all, your actions make me very uneasy."
The man finally stopped. He was silent for a moment before continuing. At the same time, he said flatly without turning his head, "I want to know a lot of things, but the most important thing is about how to make people live forever."
"Then..." At this point, the man finally looked back and said, "Child, will you tell me?"
"Eternal life?" Little Kun said with a dumbfounded expression, "Uh... I don't understand what you're talking about."
"Hmph hmph..." The man chuckled in a low voice and shook his head slightly. "So, child, don't disturb me. I will get all the answers I want in a while."
"But, I really don't know what you are talking about." Little Kun said innocently.
The man ignored it. Instead, he pulled a crucible from the side and lit it up. Then, he poured some bottles of liquid into the crucible and began to stir.
After a while, the man stopped what he was doing. While observing the liquid inside the crucible, he said to himself, "In the face of time, the body of a person will eventually decay, and the soul will gradually fall silent. But as long as the two are infinitely strengthened, then the person will definitely live forever. Other than the legendary gods, there is only the man who said that he had achieved his goal... You-know-who. But, unfortunately..."
"You know who? Huh? I know?" Little Kun continued to be stunned when he heard this.
At the same time, he complained in his heart, 'What the hell do I know? I know nothing.'
"That's why..." Little Kun sighed again and said helplessly, "Can you let me die a clear death?"
"Wait, oh, okay." The man said as he poured the blue liquid from the crucible into a test tube. He took out a wooden stick from his pocket and pointed it at the hot test tube.
Turning around, holding the test tube in one hand and the wooden stick in the other, the man walked to little Kun and slowly approached little Kun's mouth with the hand holding the test tube in the other.
"So what are you trying to do? Can't you answer my question?" Little Kun said quickly and then tightly closed his mouth.
"Hmph, hmph, hmph..." The man laughed. He did not try to open the child's mouth. Instead, he poured the liquid in the test tube onto Little Kun's chin.
Little Kun suddenly opened his eyes wide, his tightly shut mouth involuntarily opened, and he felt that his chin and tongue were rapidly becoming numb and ineffective.
Before he was completely numb, Little Kun struggled to say the last sentence, "What are you going to do!"
Looking at Little Kun's powerless mouth, the man observed it for a moment, then nodded with a satisfied smile. He put away the test tube and turned to walk to the previous position.
As he walked, the man said, "Don't worry, child. It's just to make things easier for me."
Putting the remaining half of the liquid into the test tube rack, the man turned around and walked back. At the same time, he stared at the child and said, "Extraordinary physical strength, clothing that doesn't match the size, the shattered pieces on the wall, and... the fist that landed on my body in the end..."
The man suddenly leaned over and stared at Little Kun with a fanatical gaze. His tone gradually became excited as he said, "I want to know the answer to all of this! Perhaps, you are the true stairs for me to step onto the path of immortality!"
After saying that, without caring about Little Kun's reaction, the man stood up and took out a small porcelain bottle from the pocket of his shirt. Using the straw as the mouth of the bottle, he took three drops of colorless liquid from the porcelain bottle.
Looking at Little Kun again, the man dripped the liquid into Little Kun's completely out-of-control mouth and said gently, "Don't be afraid of the child. This is not poison. It was just to prevent accidents. After all, this thing is very difficult to get, and I don't want to waste even a drop."
Putting away the straw and covering the porcelain bottle, the man shook the porcelain bottle in front of Little Kun's angry eyes and then put it back into his pocket.
Once again walking to the wooden table by the wall, the man picked up another crucible and continued to pound the bottles and jars. At the same time, he said, "Hold on a little longer, child. You will soon be able to speak again. You will tell me everything, right?"
"Yes."
Little Kun did not make a sound because his mouth was not working, but he could not help but respond in his heart.
In the next moment, Little Kun seemed to understand everything and widened his eyes in disbelief...
