Chapter 857: Above the Clouds
Kaizen felt a wave of relief when he saw Alina intervene and help him. Their eyes met for a brief moment, exchanging a silent communication laden with trust, and without hesitation Kaizen concentrated on his psychic energy, forming a force field around himself as he faced the entity that had taken possession of the Emperor.
The entity, sensing the change in the situation when it looked into Kaizen's face, smiled sadistically, challenging Kaizen with its piercing gaze and its deep voice echoing in the hall.
"You can't stop me, Psyker!!! I'm older and more powerful than you can imagine!"
Kaizen didn't respond with words, but with actions. Raising his right hand, he concentrated a sphere of bluish, glowing, pulsating energy.
The entity laughed, a guttural sound that made the elven guards squirm even more. "You're just a foolish mortal, thinking you can challenge a being like me. It's no use having great power if you don't know how to use it."
Without further ado, Kaizen launched the energy sphere towards the entity, which reacted with surprise as it received the attack head-on. The sphere hit the entity squarely in the chest, causing an explosion of light and energy that illuminated the entire hall.
In the next instant, Kaizen enveloped himself in an aura and with a powerful thrust, he flew towards the entity, grabbing it by the neck with one hand while the other firmly held the energy sphere.
"If you're so confident that you're stronger, why do you want to escape?" Kaizen asked firmly, his voice resonating with authority. He could feel the force of the entity trying to break free, but he was determined to stop it from causing any more damage.
With a sudden change of direction, Kaizen began to rise, destroying the roof of the palace with it and taking the entity with him towards the sky.
The entity's resistance was formidable, but Kaizen was determined to take this threat away from the palace so that his friends could resolve the situation with the portal and the other possessed elves.
As they flew through the night sky, the darkness surrounding the entity slowly dissipated, revealing its contours and true form. It was a hideous creature, with black wings and sharp claws, its skin tinged with deep shadows that seemed to absorb the surrounding light. There was no longer a single remnant of the consciousness of the emperor Kaizen was talking to.
Kaizen knew he couldn't underestimate this entity. It was a real and powerful threat, capable of causing destruction on an unprecedented scale, so he focused his energy on not letting it escape.
They flew higher and higher, and the entity began to struggle violently, trying to break free of Kaizen's grip. Its sharp claws scratched Kaizen's skin, but he ignored the pain, focused on his mission. His life bar wasn't getting low enough for him to care.
Finally, they reached a considerable altitude, far above the clouds. Kaizen looked into the entity's eyes, seeing the malice and thirst for power reflected there.
"You're not getting away!" declared Kaizen in a firm voice.
The entity growled. "I am immortal," it roared. "You can't destroy me."
"Don't worry, I don't want to destroy you, I want to know why you won't tell me where Týr is." Kaizen said and released the entity.
The enemy fell for a few meters, but then Kaizen caught it in mid-air.
"And if you don't give me the answer I need, I'll let you go from here or even higher, so that the body you've taken over can't even walk."

The entity squirmed in Kaizen's hand, a mixture of hatred and fear reflected in its eyes as black as the starless night. "You're a fool if you think you can torture with fear alone. I am the shadow that stretches for centuries in this world, the darkness that swallowed up all the light that was here. You are nothing compared to me!"
Kaizen kept his expression impassive, but inside he felt the weight of responsibility of facing a being so ancient and powerful that he couldn't even tell what it was.
"Whether it's a shadow, a demon or darkness, I don't care. Its presence is a threat I cannot ignore. Where is Týr? Answer me, and perhaps we can find a less drastic solution."
The entity let out a hoarse laugh, echoing through the emptiness of the night sky. "Týr is beyond your reach, he is a god, something you mortals cannot comprehend."
Kaizen tightened his grip even more around the entity, feeling its resistance gradually diminish. "Don't underestimate me. I've faced more powerful enemies than you. If you don't cooperate, I won't hesitate to act."
The entity looked at Kaizen with a mixture of contempt and curiosity. "You have courage, mortal. But courage is not enough to make me fear you. Týr is far more important than you can imagine, why do you think he hid so far from home?"
Kaizen frowned, trying to decipher the entity's enigmatic words.
The entity smiled, revealing sharp fangs and sparkling eyes. "Ahh! You really thought he was just thinking and came for a walk never to return, didn't you? You foolish mortals are only just beginning to understand what's at stake, too bad it'll be too late when Ragnarok finally happens."
Kaizen felt a shiver run down his spine, but he shook his head and dismissed the ideas that this creature was trying to put into his head. "Shut up! The lives you destroyed... You must pay for them!"
The entity let out a cruel laugh. "Lives? What are the lives of beings like us? We are beyond such trivialities. You want to know what I am, don't you? I am something that was already here when the gods arrived.
I was just a spark of what I am today, but over time I evolved and became strong. In my conception and perspective, your life, even that of a Psyker, is as ephemeral as the life of a bee."
Kaizen clenched his fists, feeling the indignation growing inside him, and threw a powerful punch at the entity, knocking it into the clouds.
