Chapter 285: Ship Building I
Chapter 285: Ship Building I
"What? What do you mean it will take too long?" Knight sat in his room,
Enjoying his hot chocolate made by Amaryll and looking at the status of the army.
Vivian cleared her throat and answered, "Yes, it will at least take a month to bring the ship to Agoria. Plus, Nanbu said the ship's price is between 100 and 200 thousand gold. With the crews and sailors you asked, the total price is 210, 000 gold coins"
"I don't care about the gold coins, we need a ship asap"
He said, placing his hot chocolate on the table.
Vivian sighed and took a sip of her hot chocolate and said
"Why do you need a ship anyway? Isn't Lia going to build them? What do you plan to do with a ship without a captain?"
"Well, Lia said she has to gather information by observing our seas and wind conditions to design an ancient ship from the book of ark. How do you observe the seas and the wind conditions without putting a ship on the sea?"
"I've never heard of such a process"
"She's not going to build normal ships, so the process will be different from the usual"
Both of them took another sip of hot chocolate while they pondered for an alternate plan to bring the ship to Agoria as soon as possible.
"Before we move forward, who's going to sail the ship? I mean you said we don't need a captain"
"Since we are going to sail the ship for just observing and gather information, Lia man the ship herself"
"I didn't take her for a ship captain"
"Because she looks delicate and frail?"
Vivian nodded as Knight let out a small smile
"You're right, she was an heir and an only child to her parents, so she must have been everyone's princess in her family. But, she's here now and we will make a tough girl out of her, look at Arrora for example. When she came to us, she was just like a scared cat but now "
"She's like a fearless tiger"
Vivian exclaimed as he nodded.
"We can't teleport the ship back from Mairis, sailing would take a month wasting precious time, so what can we do?"
Since he and Vivian became buddies, Knight knew that she had something in her mind and just like he thought, Vivian slyly smiled.
"I have two alternatives in my mind, first, I heard you and his majesty can control the element itself, so one of you can turn the wind to our favor"
"Okay but let's just leave Don out of this, what's the second idea?"
"I heard you guys and Lucroy family have some history"
"Yeah, Yvonne Lucroy tried to add our Arwen to her harem, hehehe"
"Hahaha, I would have loved to see that"
Vivian and Knight burst into laughter thinking about Arwen's embarrassing moment.
"Jokes aside, how can they be our help?"
"According to Joel, they have a specific transportation spell which can be used to bring the ship from Mairis to Agoria in a couple of days"
"How does this spell work? And why don't we have this spell?"
he asked this without pausing, and then lifted his cup to drink his hot chocolate.
"It's like this, a group of mages specialized in the spell will cast the spell on the shipment. Each mage will make a portion of the shipment weightless, the bigger the shipment, the more the mages and the Life energy used casting the spell. After they complete the spell, the shipment will be weightless for a period of time"
"Then we can fly the ship to Agoria in a couple of hours, let's go with this idea and tell me why don't we have this spell? It's a pretty damn useful spell if you ask me"
"You're being too greedy, pal"
Vivian couldn't help but chuckle looking at Knight's greedy look on his face
"Not all the spells in this world can be bought with coins and stones, that spell belongs to the Lucroy family and only Lucroy family members know how to cast the spell"
"How do we make them help us? Can we hire them or something?"
Vivian shook her head as he sighed
"If we can help the Lucroy family with something and in return, we can ask them to help us with this"
"Tell me you know what they want? I'm not in the mood to go on another adventure to fetch something for them, I rather go by myself and sailed the ship to here"
"You brought two Golden elixirs, right? According to the intel we gathered on the Lucroy family, Yvonne's grandfather damaged his Life energy core when he failed to break through to the Heavenly level, I say we give the old man the potion"
"Let me stop you right there"
He raised his cup and made Vivian stop talking
"That potion is way too precious and I'm not giving it for a simple job like this"
"Who said anything about giving the potion for this job? We trade the potion for their spell, with this spell, we can bring important shipments without waiting for so long "
The wave of realization hit Knight as a long smile appeared on his wave
"Touche! set up a meeting with Yvonne and send Arwen to meet her"
"I like the way you think, Knight"
Vivian raised her glass and clinked with Knight's as both of them laughed thinking about Arwen again.
*************************
Lia opened her eyes and saw an unfamiliar ceiling above her. There were beautiful paintings of a night sky on the marble ceiling above her and an elegant chandelier that brightened the room with its silvery light.
Slowly, the image turned from cloudy to clear until she could see every detail.
"Oh? It's not my room,im in Everlight now"
Lia remembered herself and took a deep breath. The air in the room was clean and fresh as its dullness and warmth made her comfortable. Her body was wrapped in a soft white quilt, and the layers of cotton blankets under her sank slightly every time she lay on them. Even if she stretched her body fully, her toes wouldn't be exposed. Although the room lacked the paintings of her in various ages and all the small statues, this room was more comfortable, fancier, and cozy than her room in Elvelon.
She felt a little guilty at the thought of lazing on the bed. Even though she had only arrived for a week, she felt a sense of peace. It was a feeling that she had never imagined feeling again.
In the castle, no one would disturb her no matter how late she got up. Just like today. Lia turned to look out of the window and noticed that the gray sky was a little glaring. It seemed over 6 a.m. In her past life as an heir, she did not wake up this early. She would sleep until her mother came knocking on the room and gave her a sweet dose of motherly yell.
Her schedule included only studying about ships and family business, attending balls and if she was lucky, she would play hide and seek with her cousins.
Lia's eyes welled up remembering the good old days and wanted to see her family again though she knew it's impossible. To forget about the tragedy, she drowned herself in working for Knight, and unexpectedly, her heart was calming down and she slowly began to warm up to everyone in the castle, especially to Knight, Amaryll, and the three little cute cubs who would often come to her workplace and play with her.
"Time to go to work" slapping her face, Lia pushed herself up and tried her best to get out of bed. When she was at her home, her mother had always warned that God would never bless those who were lazy.
"Today, I must finish designing fishing boats before Knight takes me to Agoria" she could not hold back her smiles whenever she thought of Knight.
He had all the qualities to charm a girl like her as he was funny, strong, and extremely good looking. If she wanted to compare Knight to anyone in terms of good looking, she could only compare him with the King of Everlight, Don. Unfortunately, she only talked with him once and he seemed cold and distant, unlike Knight.
She could not guess how those two can be brothers or how can he be more powerful than Knight. In her mind, Knight was like a god but she heard Amaryll saying that Don is more powerful than Knight and everyone in the castle.
Just as Amaryll described, Don was indeed not someone who had a warm personality like Knight. Yet, he was a King who cared about Astrels.
After she put on the new robe, she felt warm and cozy. Lia had been accustomed to it. When she was correcting her hair, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in"
It was Arrora. Lia was somewhat amazed and shocked to see the girl who always follows Don come to her room. "Lady Arrora? I'm surprised to see you here"
"Call me Arrora, we're going to the Steel chick, here eat this and come with me" Arrora lifted the basket in her hand. "I've brought you some breakfast."
Usually, it was the maid who served breakfast to her room. Lia had barely seen and talked to Arrora except for the time when she first came to Everlight. She wondered why she came to see her in the heart.
