Rise Of The Hoarder

Chapter 386 Aggravating Revelation

Chapter 386  Aggravating Revelation

As Paul marched on with the rest of the Elite team in tow, he couldn't control the growing unease he felt.

It wasn't for nothing though; Jeremy had proven to be a wily opponent in the past. He shuddered to imagine what else the boy had up his sleeve. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

His initial emotion of fear had now given way to anger. How was he supposed to win against an opponent that was ready to sacrifice anything for victory?

Unlike Jeremy, he was constrained by his Lawful Good alignment. Due to his new status in the world and with the blessings of the gods, he had to abide by a moral code.

The Pariah could do no wrong.

"Jeremy, for your sake, I hope you are strong enough to battle me when we meet," He mused within him.

He felt a hand squeezing his in comfort and he looked down to see Lillith besides him.

There was no need for words as a look of understanding passed between them.

Out of everyone, she understood his moods best and was the only one bold enough to be informal with him.

The sight of Lillith and all his team leaders with him was a reassuring sight to behold, they were currently the strongest people in the world at the moment.

Based on his sheer strength alone, if it came to an open duel, Jeremy just didn't stand a chance against them. He had the numbers on his side and the backing of the gods. Victory was certain.

After some minutes of walking in silence, he noticed a change in the atmosphere and knew that they were close to their destination. For one, the darkness was more intense where they were. The darkness wasn't because of absence of light, the darkness was an entity on its own that fought the light. It only reinforced the idea of how powerful the boss behind the gate would be.

"Be ready, we are almost at the gate."

At his words, the rest of the team were instantly on alert. They understood the importance of the battle and had absolute trust in their Guild master.

Their powers thrummed into action as they got ready for confrontation. The Pariah was the only one that walked on confidently without any extra preparation. His confidence was based on the fact that he was currently over geared.

He didn't feel fear. If anything, he felt adrenaline coursing through his body, he wanted to take out all his pent-up frustration on the boss.

"Damn, it's so hot in here," Tia winced in pain as they got closer to the gate. The heat level of the place was intense.

As the weakest on the team, Tia felt it much more than the others. She wiped the beads of sweat on her forehead and shuddered as she imagined how fighting in such a condition would feel like.

The Guildmaster's mind was far removed from his team around him. Something didn't feel right to him. There was a nagging thought in his mind that proved elusive whenever he tried to put a finger on it so he dismissed it after a while.

He was focused on the task that awaited him. He was the trump card of the team after all and the bulk of the work fell naturally on him.

The red outline of a gate gradually came into view in the flickering light.

As her duty as the guardian on the mission, Lillith led the way and released white orbs of light from her hands so they could see the place better. The Pariah's heart skipped a beat as he saw a charred landscape and the colossal gate wide open. He now knew what had been bothering him since he got closer to the gate.

He hadn't sensed the presence of the Boss at all which was unusual.

Powerful demons didn't have stealth skills like Tia's own which masked their presence.

You could always feel their presence from a mile away and even further than that especially if you were as powerful as Paul was.

It dawned on him that someone might have gotten to the boss first and defeated him.

It sounded impossible to him and he rushed forward through the gate to confirm for himself. He was confronted with the sight of an empty burnt throne.

He lost his composure as his knees felt weak and he fell to the ground still staring at the throne in disbelief.

Behind him, the rest of the team were equally shocked to see the vacant throne. The loss was reinforced in their minds by the image of the Pariah on his knees.

Lisa wanted to rush to the aid of the Guildmaster but Lillith held her back. As his closest confidant, she knew that it was something he had to process on his own first and that he would address them in his own time.

As they looked on, he activated his <G> Authority skill and his stats grew to monstrous heights as a bright halo enveloped him.

A glowing grand hammer appeared in his hand and he took out his anger on the throne room and the place in general.

~BAMM! ~

~BAAMMM!!~

~BAAAMMMM!!!~

The throne shattered on the first impact of the blow and debris was sent flying across the room. Large fissures spread across the room and the sturdy structure of the walls collapsed.

The team hurriedly retreated out of the gate as molten lava brought out by the disturbance flowed freely and the smell of burning sulfur hung thickly in the air.

It was terrifying to the team leaders to see their Guildmaster continuously hacking at the structure with his hammer as he screamed in frustration.

It was the first time they saw him lost his cool since they knew him and it wasn't a pretty sight.

They shuffled nervously as they all looked at Lillith to do something since she knew him best.

She ignored them and looked straight ahead at the carnage; she was determined to let him work out his anger as it would be foolhardy to confront him in the state he was in.

For one, they couldn't see anything going on in the throne room as the place had now gone up in flames but they knew that he would be safe.

The sound of the blows soon faded and then died out. After a while, they saw the figure of the Pariah coming out slowly amidst the flames still wielding the hammer. The sight gladdened them but also made a few uneasy.

The Angel of the Alliance advanced toward them like a demon from hell.
