Rise of the Great Emperor

Chapter 53: The Plot

Chapter 53: The Plot

Swish!

Under the moonlight, both Lin Xiao and Wenren Yu left the house and used the cliff to head into the village. Seeing how nimble Lin Xiao was, Wenren Yu followed suit and copied the former’s movement.

"You’re not bad," Lin Xiao commented when he saw Wenren Yu managed to follow him.

Wenren Yu arched his eyebrows. He might be medicine student, but it didn’t mean that he was not subjected to harsh training back in Taiyi Sect. A little bit physical movement was nothing much for him.

"Let’s go."

"Ok."

Silently, the two of them headed to the village. Lin Xiao immediately used the skill he had used back then to erase his presence. While it might not be perfect, it was more than enough for him to cover his track from others.

Besides him, Wenren Yu was doing the same thing as he erased his presence. If one didn’t see him directly, they wouldn’t be able to know that he was standing right there.

Treading carefully, Lin Xiao headed to the house that was designated to the three representatives and looked at Wenren Yu. He didn’t know how far he could stay around the three representatives without them detecting his presence.

’It’s fine to get closer,’ Wenren Yu gave hand signs.

Lin Xiao watched the hand sign then to Wenren Yu’s face. He didn’t know those hand signs, ah!

Seeing the confusion on Lin Xiao’s face, Wenren Yu sighed and tugged Lin Xiao’s sleeve. He pointed to the balcony then leapt up. With swift movement, he had arrived by the balcony and crouched down at the side to avoid getting found out.

Lin Xiao followed suit and landed beside Wenren Yu. His nimble movements were very similar to that of cat.

’Stay silent.’

This time, Lin Xiao understood because Wenren Yu put his index finger in front of his lips. He nodded and crouched down beside Wenren Yu.

The three representatives were inside, talking to each other or just minded their business. However, their conversation was....

"I can’t believe I lost again. Once again!"

"Heh, you won’t be able to win against me."

"What? I’ll make sure to get the full house next time so that you won’t be able to speak anything to me!"

Lin Xiao: "..." they’re playing cards?

He knew that some people liked to play cards because he had seen it before in the club and so on. But never in his wildest dream he thought that he would encounter three powerful cultivators busy playing with each other.

From the way they spoke to each other, it seemed that they were at least comfortable near each other. Even though they might not be overly friendly, they didn’t mind each other’s presence.

One hour passed.

The three cultivators were still playing.

Another hour passed.

Two representatives were talking about some matters related to their sect while the third one slept.

5 hours later.

They were still talking about some unrelated matters.

Lin Xiao felt that they were truly testing his patience. It would be dawn soon, so the two of them couldn’t stay here for much longer. He felt that he was cheated. Even after spying for an entire night, he still didn’t find anything useful.

Can’t they talk about Taiyi Sect for once?

He didn’t understand what these representatives were thinking.

"Anyway, isn’t this the time for us to make our moves?" the woman’s impatient tone could be heard from the balcony very clearly.

Liu Gang arched his eyebrows. He glanced to the side where the third representative was sitting. "When do you think is the right time?"

The third representative passed a glance to the two of them. He stood up uncaringly and tapped the table. "Tonight."

"OH! I’m already feeling impatient. Do you think we’re going to succeed on the first try?" The woman asked. She put down the cards on her hand to the table then walked to her vanity table taking out a mirror.

"I don’t know."

"Tsk, you’re the most powerful amongst us, so make sure that you protect us properly, ok?"

The third representative stayed silent as if he was a mute. Apparently, he had no intention to reply to the woman’s inquiry.

Liu Gang leaned back and sighed. "It wouldn’t be easy for us to leave so suddenly. What excuse do you want to make?"

"Training."

The other two: "..."

Well, it was true that if higher ranked cultivators were training, the others wouldn’t dare to disturb. However, they felt that this excuse was somewhat shallow since they knew very well that they didn’t have any intention to train in this kind of place.

The woman shrugged. "Even if I train, I don’t think it’ll affect anything. The lake is not going anywhere too."

Lake?

Wenren Yu’s eyes narrowed. He had heard from Lin Xiao about the existence of the lake at the north where Lin Xiao did his test back then. The fish from the lake was quite special because they held much more Qi than what most animal could possibly have.

Was it because of the lake?

Or was it because there was a treasure hidden within the lake?

All kinds of thoughts swirled within Wenren Yu’s mind as he tried to think for all possibilities.

Beside him, Lin Xiao was also thinking hard. After all, he had already visited the lake yet he didn’t really find anything special there.
