Chapter 39: Skills from the Three Sects (2)
"Ow, ow, ow, can you release my hand?" Luo Lan asked as he tried to release himself. Being slammed by Bai Xin to the ground was already shameful enough, yet this woman still kept his arm locked. It prevented him from standing up.
"Hmph."
Bai Xin relaxed her arms and walked away. Her dress was still as clean as before as if she had never fought and simply stood without moving around.
Luo Lan stretched his hands as he grimaced. Bai Xin was a rank higher than him, which meant that her base power was higher. When she locked him, he could clearly feel his bones nearly breaking.
She truly didn’t know how to hold back.
"Amazing," Lin Yun muttered.
This time, Lin Xiao had to agree. Bai Xin’s movement was flawless. From the moment Luo Lan entered her range of attack, her hand moved very swiftly just like that of a snake. It caught Luo Lan’s wrist and then used his own force to slam on the ground.
It was truly a perfect martial art for women who were usually weaker compared to men in terms of physical force. Though, Lin Xiao had the feeling that Bai Xin herself was much more powerful compared to Luo Lan.
Clasp!
Lin Xiao’s fingers clasped in excitement. He wanted to grow stronger and become much better!
"Yun, we’re going to start training after we got home."
"Ah?" Lin Yun was stunned. He looked at his brother with bewildered expression. "Brother, are you talking about that...?"
"We can’t learn the systematic teaching about those skills, but there’s nothing wrong with learning the movements a bit, right?" Lin Xiao said with a grin. At most, the martial art will be imperfect, but it didn’t really matter. What he wanted was that his brother would have a skill to protect himself when it was necessary.
Lin Yun thought about it for a moment then nodded. It would be very important for him to learn martial art to be able to protect himself. He did learn Mountain’s Punch, but the harsh power requirement made it a bit hard for him to execute it properly.
If he could learn this Snake Counterattack, it would be very good.
Just thinking about it already made Lin Yun a bit excited.
"You’re the last," Bai Xin said while looking at the third man. "Don’t disappoint us."
"I won’t."
The third disciple stood in the middle and looked at the villagers. He furrowed his brows as he was thinking of the shortest explanation possible for the skill he wanted to show.
"The skill’s name is Moon Evasion."
Moon Evasion?
The villagers were bewildered when they heard the third disciple was planning to show an evasion skill. For many people, evading meant that they were afraid. Because of that, they would rather face their enemies upfront rather than hiding at the back and escape dishonorably.
The third disciple, who came from Yue Da Sect, didn’t seem to care in the slightest bit. He merely waved his hand and he had already appeared beside Bai Xin once more. Not even a split second had passed, yet he had moved more than a meter.
"That’s fast!" Lin Xiao muttered, nearly exclaiming loudly.
Lin Yun was also nodding his head with blank expression. He felt as if the young man disappeared in that instance and appeared in other place just like that.
"Tsk, you’re still as cowardly as ever," Bai Xin protested.
The third disciple passed her a glance then looked away with uncaring expression. Rather than cowardly, it looked as if he was too lazy to bother with them. His eyes were fixated at a distance away, watching the birds flying.
Bai Xin snorted and then looked at the villagers. "Of course, just showing our skills might not be enough for you to know our abilities. Because of that, we’re going to give the chance to three people challenging us! You can pick whoever you want."
Luo Lan raised his hand. "Oh wait, I want to fight with Su Hei from yesterday!"
"I’m not done speaking yet, Luo Lan!"
"Tsk, you’re so annoying."
By this time, the villagers were already looking in Su Hei’s direction. Some of their gazes contained malice and hope that Su Hei would fail in the next battle. It was clear that they were envious of him to be able to get the attention of that ’idiot’ Luo Lan.
No one dared to say the word loudly, but that was what they were thinking based on the young man’s action.
Su Hei’s face was slightly dark. He looked in Lin Xiao’s direction, but he could see that Lin Xiao was merely watching with the latter’s arm crossed. There was not even any intention for him to step up.
In the first place, Lin Xiao was not interested in the other sects.
"Heh, my plan is very good."
"Brother, you’re praising yourself."
"Of course!"
Lin Yun rolled his eyes and then stepped to the side a bit. If one asked, he would not want to acknowledge his brother. At least, for now.
Slowly, Su Hei walked to the stage and cupped his hand. He felt that he had made the worst decision yesterday by deciding to oblige to Luo Lan’s words. While Luo Lan might be the disciple of the sect, he was a bit too brainless.
"Su Hei is here," Su Hei said with polite expression.
Luo Lan beamed. He looked at Bai Xin. "I’m going to fight first. You can fight later if you want to fight too."
Bai Xin snorted and walked to the side. She had no intention to get close with that idiotic Luo Lan. If he wished to fight first, She would simply watch from the side and enjoyed the show.
"Come!"
Su Hei cupped his hand once more. "Please instruct me, Young Master Luo."
